Drool..... ;D Hey, CG, I sent you two e-mails and they bounced back. Back to PB. In "Laws" he was supposed to be a slob but I truly think he is too grogeous to look like a slob. Even his unkempt hair looked fabulous to me. I should look so good. Can't wait for RS on DVD. ---drool, drool, drool---

I have seem on this web site : "themagicofdvds.com" that RS already exist on DVD (not all the seasons, but maybe the 2 or 3 first seasons), is that serious and can we trust on it ?

I've seen them too. No, you can't trust them.
They're bootlegs of existing tapes transfered onto DVD's. Official DVDs can ONLY be released by FOX, and these will be remastered for best quality as well as having extras and they're only selling them in season sets which aren't available yet.

Ace is absolutely right. The DVDs haven't been released...yet. I also saw a listing for RS DVDs on Yahoo Auctions website. First bid request was for $99.99, and there were no takers. I saw the auction after it closed. The claim was that all episodes were included, no picture, no company name. Obviously something illegal and not what we want. Sad.

Does anybody know why this isn't listed on the TV on DVDs site release schedule??

It's 2 1/2 months away and they don't have the cover art and all the extras specified yet.
But the DVD was listed as going on sale on the Video Business site, and that's the site that gives information for distributors and sellers.

But wait...there's more. I just e-mailed the TV on DVDs site (or whatever it's called, sorry) this afternoon and got a response back just now: I"m sorry if I'm missing something here, but is there a reason Remington Steele isn't on your release date calendar? I knew from a forum I visit that you had printed a May date, and went looking for it. When I search shows, it says it's coming out May 24 (I think), but then it does't show up on your calendar. Does that mean there's a hitch in the release, or what? Thanks! It was announced, then removed. I see that we haven't posted the "removed" news, so I'll get Fox on the line and see what's going on there.
Thanks for the reminder.
GordGord is apparently the guy who answers the questions. Thanks, Gord, and I hope this isn't bad news! cg www.TVShowsOnDVD.com/ There we go.

Gord (Gordon) Lacey is the webmaster and the owner of the site. Shucks. So far, I haven't received anything about it - I'm on their update list. Let's see what FOX says.

Sigh... Remington Steele - We've waited this long, what's a little longer? Posted by David Lambert 3/09/2005 In various news posts here at TVShowsOnDVD, including our most recent one, we've talked about a release date of May 24th for Remington Steele - Season 1. But as May approaches, we expected to get details from Fox about the title, and never did.
Yesterday we contacted Fox and asked them about this. It seems that the DVD set has been delayed from May to sometime in July. I don't have a specific date for you, nor a reason for the change. Stay tuned, though, and we'll let you know when we find out more. www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3071**** Hope nobody is holding her breath..... cg

No, just tapping my foot. Really, this is sad, but there is steele a chance that we'll get the DVDs. My first--shocking--thought was that they may have cancelled the release.

They still may... I don't think Gord is an RS fan, he just strikes as a very thorough person. Maybe he's both, of course.

Have heart, it does say JULY. So maybe, just maybe...... I opened my e-mail this morning and I had received the above (partial) post from tvshowsondvd.com, and noticed all the activity from you guys, too, on this subject. Very interesting indeed. Well, this is sad news. I was hoping for a great birthday present in May. Now I guess I have to wait to get it for my son's birthday in July. Here I was thinking I could begin getting rid of my many PAXed tapes. Perhaps we should begin another e-mail campaign? This is not good. --modifications were necessary because I can't think or type anything correctly the first two times-- Oops! edited FOUR times!--

Maybe it's 'cause I asked nicely. ;D cg CG, I think you are right. 'Nicely' usually does bring satisfactory results, at least in the 'wants to know' department. Thanks for being so nice -- and for sharing the news with us.

I'd be more upset but pushing around release dates for season sets is par for the course. Maybe they fell behind in a documentary or decided on placing them on six discs instead of 4, or had trouble getting licensing for a bit of music. Or the market was too crowded in May. Happens all the time.
They've most likely done most if not all of the restorative work on the first season, so it would be cost prohibitive for them not to release the first set. So I don't doubt they will be released.
But DAMN I want it NOW.

Oh, Ace, now I feel better. I think you are right about the market being a bit crowded in May. I just read where a few of Hayley Mills films and other Disney works will be released then. My fingers are crossed for more disks in the set and extra stuff.
