Those who have Diced (the card-playing scene at RS's apartment), Premium (quite a few senes around that bracelet), or Sensitive (when RS is inspecting the burned closet) on tape, can take a closer look; I'm sure there are more, can't think of any right now. The bracelet came open in Now You Steal It, Now You Don't during an intimate Laura/Steele moment. I think that's the title. The one with the counterfeit paper used to wrap priceless statues. Or was it his watch? PB looks wonderful in jewelry and I've always liked the bracelet. Love his necklace and ring, too. I've known a few men who can carry off the jewelry thing, especially in the mid-1970s to 1980s, when they wore nice gold chains. Other men just look foolish or odd or sissy, but the ones I knew looked very nice. About the final line in Steele Away, I watched it several times and I have to agree, I don't remember "you are" being there. Again, I agree, the Agency and Laura, should be responsible for Steele's taxes and fees since he wasn't there at the time. I also think her giving RS the forms was meant for our benefit, to end the episode with a chuckle, and for Mildred's benefit, so their secret didn't get out. I have a feeling my PAXed version of the episode won't shed any light on anything in question because, well, it's PAXed. I'm rather glad they chose not to use Michael Jackson's music, even if the reason is because it cost too much. I'd rather not have him on my DVD. As I said above, I liked the music throughout the episode and it made it fun to watch. There did seem to be a lull on the yacht, but since I only have PAX's version, I'm sure I won't be able to tell. But I'll check.

I am absolutely impressed with the second season of Remington. On each disk, the background is altered from light blue to pink to green. The menus for language selection and for each episode also changes with each disk, showing us scenes of the episodes. I watched the first two disks without any problems; however, I found one as I watched "Steele Sweet On You". As I was enjoying one of my favorite episodes, suddenly something was wrong with the images and the sound on the disk. I'm not sure how long it lasts but during several scenes, this is what happened: the images were distorted and skipping around, the sound stuttered as blots of colored squares just came on the screen covering the images. Since I've watched this ep several times on my PAXed copy, I knew immediately what scenes were destroyed as I tried to forward the disk. It starts when Laura quotes the movie Boomtown to Frances and it ends after Wendell shoots Cookie and Howie. Talk about a disappointment after waiting all this time for this season! I'm uncertain about what I could do about it. I bought this from Amazon during the pre-order week two weeks ago. Does anyone think that Amazon would replace this defective disk? I already tried everything else: I cleaned the DVD player with the cleaning disk, I wiped this defective disk with the DVD cleaning cloth, and I checked but couldn't find any marks on the actual disk. I checked on Amazon about exchanging items but I didn't make a final decision yet.

I had similar problems with the Season One DVD as well as the just released Season Two DVD. I'm just guessing that it has something to do with the double sided DVD. I ordered several copies of Season Two (some for Christmas gifts) from Amazon and found problems like you have described on Disk One (Steele Away With Me) and Disk Two (Steele Knuckles Glass Jaws). I have returned the defective sets to Amazon and they are sending new sets. It's a pretty easy process and I'd suggest that you contact them for an exchange. I wonder what kind of actual cost savings Fox will realize from using this two sided approach once it has to replace quite a few defective sets.
Other than that complaint, a big thumbs up for Season Two and the participation of Brosnan, Zimbalist, and Roberts in this DVD.

My season 2 discs have had problems, too. The second CD skipped through parts of "Steele Knuckles and Glass Jaws." When you looked at the disc you could see marks on part of the disc. I exchanged it with no problem.
With the new set, I was watching "Molten Steele" on disc 3 and it just froze on the screen. I took the disc out and inspected it for marks like were on the other disc, but I couldn't see anything. I wiped it off and put it back in and it played fine.
Now I ned to go back and re-watch all of the episodes to make sure all of the discs in this new set play okay . . . oh, the torture ;D
Anyway, it sounds like there are definitely problems with the season 2 set, so don't wait to watch yours. You might need to exchange them.

I watched the extras on the DVD. It was good to see Doris and SZ on there but they must have used up most of their PB stuff the first time around because they seemed to be reduced to using about one line of him per segment from those original interviews. Hopefully they do some more if they're doing more special features otherwise his contribution to the next set will be down to one word. I also thought it was amusing that they went on and on about SZ and the snakes (eek!) but PB getting Bells Palsy from that tussle in the filthy LA river merited one line -- and not a very accurate one at that, it didn't just clear up in a couple of days. He collapsed, was hospitalized and his face was still affected when they did Small Town Steele. Ace

Wow! I didn't realize several of us have found similar problems with this new set. I have two more questions to ask: even though the other disks in Season 2 aren't defective, I would still have to return the entire set? They (Amazon) won't exchange individual disks (in my case, just disk 3)?

They (Amazon) won't exchange individual disks (in my case, just disk 3)? I've never had to return a DVD but Id assume they just replace the entire set. Amazon or any retailer isn't going to open a package just to take out one disc. They're not a manufacturer with spare discs. And this way they just send the defective set back to FOX and get their money back etc. Ace

A couple of posters in another RS-related group said they sent or took their Season 1 set back and got a replacement without any problem; somebody sent it to Amazon. What's strange is that no one complained about the quality of the replacement. I would say later shipments were better in quality, but I doubt there were later shipments - all those DVDs probably came from the same large shipment. I wonder if those guys just didn't bother to watch they replacements sets.

It possiably could be I'll keep you posted on this

I bought my Season 1 through Deep Discount DVD and it was defective. Fortunately a friend bought a Season 1 locally at a store and loaned me her set while if sorted out the problem with Deep Discount. It took about 6 weeks to get the problem sorted out because althought Deep Discount provided me with a mailer to mail back the entire set, they never received it and we had to wait a number of days for delivery before they would process the return without the actual product in hand. If I had not had my friend's set to watch, I would have been having screaming fits. When the replacement set came, I just gave it to my friend without opening it. I sure hope it's not defective.
I had no problems with my Season 2 set.
Any poop on a release of Season 3 and 4. I don't much care about Season 5 but I'd kind of like to have the complete set eventually.

I've skipped around from disc to disc and haven't had any problems, but then I never have on this DVD player even with scratched up Library discs.
I found the commentaries on this one were overall more enjoyable, since there wasn't as much retread ground as there was wtih License/Tempered. The one on Hounded by Melvoin (who now writes for Alias) might have been the dryest since he did it alone but it also had some very interesting observations about the difference in writing 1 hour shows now as oppossed to then because of the time of the episodes and the amount of commercial breaks. He said when there were just 3-4 commercial breaks the episodes were structured in 4 acts of about 12 min each which allowed for greater buildup and more smaller moments than now when episodes are not only about 6-8 min shorter but are also divided up into 6 segments because of more commercials which might cause writers to artifcially pump up too many dramatic moments to keep interest after every commercial break.
