April 2005 sounds really, really good to me!! Can this be true? Shall we dare to dream? Be still my beating heart. Does this mean that finally I can ditch my 200+ PAXed tapes? I really need the space. ;D RS on DVD. I'm in heaven. It WILL be the ENTIRE series, right?

Well they usually issue them by season so it might take a couple of years before all 4+ seasons are out (and that's provided they sell welln enough to continue til the end, though they should) before you can ditch all your PAX tapes.

If they sell them by season, perhaps my pocketbook will be able to handle the cost. Shelling out big bucks for the entire series at one time would put me way below the poverty level - but I'd have my DVDs to keep me warm. I was planning to hold on to my fuzzy PAXed tapes until I have each episode in my hot little hands, and after checking to make sure everything is okay. There are a few tapes I plan to keep: the ones that show the episode as originally aired on NBC (MTM, I think), and the ones I purchased from other people who taped them from NBC. They were so hard to come by, I don't want to part with them yet. Besides, the factory made tapes have photos of Pierce and Stephanie on the covers.

[glow=red,2,300]Yes!!![/glow]From TVShowsOnDVD via Nancy Eddy (of RS Transcripts site) Remington Steele - Fox announces DVDs for Pierce Brosnan-Stephanie Zimbalist Series!Posted by David Lambert 12/29/2004 Wow, it seems like we've been waiting a year for this announcement. Actually, we have been! It was almost a year ago (Jan. 13, 2004) when Fox exec Peter Staddon was nice enough to hold an online chat at the Home Theater Forum website, and mentioned there that Remington Steele was being planned for a DVD release. Six months after that, TVShowsOnDVD's own Gord Lacey talked again to Staddon, asking for an update on items mentioned in that chat, and for Remington Steele was told that the title was still coming, but wouldn't make it out until sometime in 2005. This morning Fox Home Entertainment has formally announced that the street date for Remington Steele - Season 1 is April 26, 2005...yippee! The price in the USA is going to be $39.98 SRP, and in Canada it will go for a CAN$54.98 list price. All 22 episodes from the 1982-83 season are expected to be included in this release, where Stephanie Zimbalist plays a private detective who doesn't receive too many clients, until she invents a fictional boss called "Remington Steele"...and then Pierce Brosnan walks in and claims to be Mr. Steele himself! No other details are available about the DVDs so far, but stay tuned and we'll bring them to you just as soon as more info is announced. www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=2644

Yee-ha! Speaking of DVD budgets, that's definitely what mine will be going for! Do we all trust this source, or are we likely to get our hopes crushed?

Oh my gosh! Is this true? Can this be for real? I'm dancing here, just in case. What a great Christmas gift and right in the middle of the TRUE Christmas Season. :: dancing all over the place::: I'll check in later.....I have to count all the pennies I've been saving for this! Somehow I don't think I have 4000, however. Now I have to start saving BIG TIME. Thanks for the fabulous news and thanks for the wonderful pictures. Those two just curl my toes.

Remington Steele - Street Date Correction for Season 1Posted by David Lambert 1/08/2005 A little over a week ago, we brought you the breaking news that Remington Steele - Season 1 would arrive on DVD this Spring. The date we got from Fox's press kit was April 26th, and that's what we passed on to our readers. Since then, we've noticed that other DVD news sites have relayed this news with a different date, and we discovered that this other date was also in the same set of information, just in another place. We contacted Fox to ask for a clarification, and they apologized, telling us the the second date was the correct one. The accurate street date for Remington Steele - Season 1 is May 24th. All the other information posted in the previous story was accurate. Fox is still waiting on final approval of the cover art, and just as soon as that's done we'll bring it to you. Stay tuned! There, there. As long as it is being released at all, it's going to be okay. We've waited for so long, another month won't kill us. I agree, though, that it's a delay one could do without.

Sounds like it will be a happy birthday indeed at MyrtleGoggin's house this year! Mine too, as a matter of fact - except the new DVD release date just happens to BE my birthday. Yes! Mr. Steele always did have impeccable timing.

Good for you! Haven't had any Pierce-related events so close to my birthday, except that he married one day before my b-day.

;D ;D ;D The second one (my birthday is 5 August). His "fairy-tale wedding" to the lucky Keely in Ireland. And the almost scary part is that I went to Ireland shortly afterwards, but was unaware of "the event" when I booked for the journey.

So, IcyCalm, your birthday is May 24th? That's my niece's birthday, too, except she's too 'unconscious' to care about RS....er....I mean, too young. Geminis are great!

Yep, that's my b-day. And being a Gemini is indeed great. We get to blame the "other twin" when we royally screw up. Which is more often than not, in my case.
Your neice is "too young" to care about RS? How can a female be too young to resist Pierce? He has a supernatural hypnotic hold on all of us, probably even includes female cats and dogs, horses and bunny rabbits.
I've a special niece myself. Fifteen years of age and crazy for Pierce, thanks to my wisely exposing her to RS tapes a couple of years back, during sleep-over pajama parties. (Her very favourite episode is "A Good Nights Steele" but she's sweet on Pooky from "Blue Blooded Steele.") She's getting her very own Season 1 DVD from me the instant it comes out.
Goodness, the posts have been about age and birthdays today. Oh heck, Pierce is straightforward enough about his age, why shouldn't I be as well? I was born 8 days after he was, on the opposite shore of the Atlantic.
Always did go for older men...

I've been a PB fan since "Manions", and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a month older than him.

Well done, steeleinc - we can be bookends for Pierce! You were born a month before, I was born 8 days after. You cleared the way, I followed through. We have a special claim on him, you and I. We'll share him. You want his left or his right side? Think about it. There's his right side, with the Bond Scar, laugh lines, where his smile goes first. Then again, this left side is awfully intriguing as well! (I refer of course to his left eyebrow.)
Group hug!
