Thought I'd start this thread since we're bound to have lots of rumours. It's Bond after all! I hope the Taipan approves. *** Bond To Return Christmas 2005?www.commanderbond.net/Public/Stories/2138-1.shtml"Variety", a very reliable film news source, has just reported that the shooting of Bond 21 will commence in January 2005. According to the paper the movie is set for a Christmas time 2005 release. A few days ago the "Internet movie database" (imdb) reported November 25th 2005 as the release date for the 5th Pierce Brosnan outing. However, the imdb is fed by its users, so there is no guarantee for the reliability of the information. According to "Variety" no director has been announced yet, but a story outline and a treatment of Neil Purvis and Robert Wade, the writers of "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day", were sent to producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

Owen not bottled in Bond despite reports www.suntimes.com/output/movies/cst-ftr-clive17.htmlOctober 17, 2003 BY CINDY PEARLMAN Someone had better keep the Aston Martin garaged. And don't start mixing martinis just yet. Clive Owen is not the new James Bond, despite rampant reports circulating last week that Pierce Brosnan was passing the torch and the babes after doing just one more film. Brosnan hasn't said he's giving up 007. And Owen tells GLARE that he hasn't signed on. "It's just continued speculation," an exasperated Owen said with a sigh last weekend. "Me becoming the next Bond has become so common that when I read the rumors I even shake my head." His mates are another story. "I had a phone call last week from an old, dear American friend saying, 'You bastard, Clive! You signed for two Bond films and you never told me!' "I guess it was supposedly confirmed somewhere that I had," Owen said. And now for the truth? "It's all rumor. I read what you read. "Let me just tell you that there has never been an official approach from the Bond people toward me. And since that is the case, there is no point in me wasting time thinking about it." Now that Owen's star is rising (he's in the upcoming "Beyond Borders" opposite Angelina Jolie and has signed to star opposite Julia Roberts in "The Closer"), he's getting used to playing the Hollywood game. "There is just so much b------- in this game," he griped. "I think the bottom line is you just have to deal with the facts. Otherwise you just waste a lot of time and a lot of energy." Just don't mention Owen's reluctance to commit to Bond to his "Beyond Borders" director, Martin Campbell, who also directed the 1995 Bond film "GoldenEye." "Clive would make a great James Bond," Campbell opined. "He goes back to the [Sean] Connery version of Bond. There's a duality in both Connery and Clive. These are guys who onscreen love you one minute and then can kill you in the next. Plus, with Clive, like with Connery, when he hits you, you stay down." Big Picture News Inc.

Bond 20 - 24-10-03 Colin Salmon talks about Brosnan tipping him for 007 - `It is the ultimate accolade!`... www.mi6.co.uk/livenews/fullstory.php3?topicid=936&t=&s=newsThe London Evening Standard recently caught up with Colin Salmon, who played MI6 aide Charles Robinson in "Tomorrow Never Dies", "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day". Following the hints from Brosnan that he would be an ideal candidate to eventually take over the role of 007, the paper quizzed him about his chances: "What can I say? Its the ultimate accolade. There are some great candidates out there, but Pierce has watched me do five or six screen tests, and he knows I can do it". Salmon's next film project will be "Alien vs Predator", which is due to commence filming at a studio in Prague, in the the Czech Republic, wrapping in February 2004. The paper claims he will also reprise his role as Robinson in Bond 21.

BBC Touts Incorrect Bond 21 Title www.commanderbond.net/Public/Stories/2160-1.shtmlA misprint in a BBC article has caused a flurry of comments today, with some believing the article mentioned the first rumoured title for the next James Bond film, Bond 21. The article, which discusses the film industry in India, referred to “the next James Bond film Die After Tomorrow”. The lacklustre title, Bond-esque solely for use of the words ‘die’ and ‘tomorrow’, was taken by some to be a rumoured Bond 21 title. However, one CBn Forum user has noted that the title is actually a misquote and misuse of actor Pierce Brosnan’s forthcoming film, The Day After Tomorrow. Despite it being in the early stages, it is expected that news sources will soon start touting false titles for Bond 21. The actual title is not expected to be announced by MGM or Eon Productions until early 2005.

CLEESE CHAMPIONS DAVENPORT FOR BOND ROLE www.channel4.com/film/newsfeatures/news_story.jsp?storyId=2484BOND regular JOHN CLEESE has cast his vote for who should replace PIERCE BROSNAN as the world's favourite super spy - British TALENTED MR RIPLEY actor JACK DAVENPORT. Cleese - who plays gadget man Q in the legendary franchise - is good friends with Davenport's father and is convinced that he, and not hot favourite CLIVE OWEN, should take on the coveted part. He says, " I wouldn't mind seeing Jack Davenport playing Bond. He's a kid I worked with in the past and the son of a good friend of mine. Good little actor. He co-starred in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN last summer. He's got my vote." Published: Nov 6, 2003 *** No offense, but this guy doesn't look mature (or good ) enough to be Bond.

Catherine Zeta-Jones To Be Bond Girl?www.teenhollywood.com/d.asp?r=54356&cat=1027November 30, 2003 Gorgeous Catherine Zeta-Jones is reconsidering an offer to become the next James Bond girl, thanks to some sage advice from former 007 star Sir Sean Connery. The Welsh wife of Michael Douglas recently denied claims she had inked a deal to play the female lead opposite Bond hunk Pierce Brosnan, but after she sought the advice of Connery - who she starred with in thriller Entrapment - she reportedly changed her mind. A movie source says, "Catherine is seriously considering whether this would be a good move for her but she won't say yes unless the script is dead right. "She's spoken to Sean about it and he's told her to go for it but only if she isn't just going to be another notch on the Bond bedpost. "Catherine wants to sing the theme and play a strong character who's an equal to 007 and not a bitchy villain - maybe even a kind of female Bond." *** Oh no, not again...

Next up she wants to be the equal of both M and Q. Are you implying those two are bigger than Bond himself? She does know these are called Bond films for a reason doesn't she? ;D It doesn't look like she pays much attention to other people's movies, else she wouldn't need to consult with Connery.

Are you implying those two are bigger than Bond himself? Of course not, but they do have unique skills and positions she'd no doubt like to equal as well. Oh well if you're thinking of Bond I could think of worst people to consult. Ace

Of course not, but they do have unique skills and positions she'd no doubt like to equal as well. Then she might consider directing a Bond movie with her husband pitching in as a producer - he's got an Oscar doing that, too, after all. Oh well if you're thinking of Bond I could think of worst people to consult. Wouldn't he be just a bit biased? But actually, I didn't mean that. Bond movies seem to be a good catch these days, why did she need advice at all? Was she afraid being a Bond girl might hurt her career? Wait, I just see all those cellular ads for Bond-21 - instead of Revlon ads...

Come on, given Bond history, she won't even need a chest wig (although I prefer my Bonds with a hairy chest.) I wonder who'll play Bond boys, though.

Western MailIs our Zeta licensed to thrill? Dec 1 2003 Robin Turner, The Western Mail CATHERINE ZETA JONES is being widely tipped to become the first female 00 secret agent in the next James Bond blockbuster. The movie is currently being planned by Eon Films which, according to film industry experts, has already screen tested the Welsh actress to play Pierce Brosnan's sidekick. A senior executive at Eon said yesterday, "Catherine is feisty, independent and very beautiful... a deadly combination for a spy." If she accepts the role, she will be the first woman in nearly 40 years of Bond films to break into the male dominated world of the British secret agent. Bond girls have generally been glamorous add-ons who are shaken then stirred into going to bed with 007. But in recent years producers are seeking to put women more firmly into the driving seat, with the casting of Judi Dench as Bond's boss M. The next Bond film, which has the working title Beyond the Ice, is thought to revolve around a master villain who holds the world to ransom with a "greenhouse weapon". It will be shot in Alaska, Ireland, Boston, Norway and Britain and is due to be released next Christmas. For Catherine Zeta Jones, inclusion in the successful Bond franchise could propel her even further to the top of the Hollywood star list. From the moment Ursula Andress emerged from the sea in Dr No, the James Bond women have had a major impact on popular culture. Along with the gadgets and glamorous locations, the Bond women tend to become lodged in the popular psyche. The women have undergone numerous changes throughout the years, from feisty independent types like Honey Ryder (Andress) and Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman) to stereotypical "Bond blondes" like Mary Goodnight (Britt Ekland). However, this has come full circle with later films offering up more authoritative women like Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) and Major Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach). If Catherine Zeta Jones appears in the next Bond as expected, she will maintain a long tradition of Welsh involvement in the long-running film series. For decades, Newport-born actor Desmond Llewellyn (who died in 1999) was Bond's chief gadget man Q, equipping the British secret agent with everything from a rocket launching sun roof to a toxic fountain pen. Welshman Timothy Dalton played Bond twice in Living Daylights (1987) and Licence to Kill (1989). His female co-star in Licence to Kill, Carey Lowell, struggled to maintain stardom after the role, with one of her best-known roles afterwards being Tom Hanks's dead wife in Sleepless in Seattle (1993). Holywell-born Jonathan Pryce played the villain in Tomorrow Never Dies and Cardiff's Shirley Bassey belted out probably three Bond theme tunes - Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker. ==================================== *snort* I guess the reporter and paper missed DAD or Halle just wasn't too memorable as Jinx. LOL! I was just about to say that I read these kinds of articles before they started filming DAD. *** entertainment.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4459,8029365%255E7485%255E%255Enbv,00.html excerpt: But other sources in Hollywood claim that after a chat with Entrapment co-star and former 007, Sean Connery, the Welsh actress might be convinced to play the female lead alongside current Bond and fellow Celt Pierce Brosnan. *** Is it just me? I find the expression "fellow Celt" slightly amusing.

This article looks like it was written 2 years ago and even that quote from EON is older than that from when rumors are that Zeta Jones wanted to be the new Bond and not just Bond's "sidekick" and EON said yeah she's lovely etc but we have a Bond. And yes the fellow Celt is amusing... but expected since it's a Welsh paper and at least it's accurate. Much better than beling called a Brit by the US rags. ;D This line from Vogue online is particuallry amusing "Catherine is incredibly excited about the project," goes on the source. "She realised the potential of this becoming a worldwide hit." " LOL, you think? Looks like she wants some of that Halle Berry publicity that an Oscar just can't get you. But isn't PB a little young for her? Ace

Nah; a few additional white haird and a couple of added crow feet - what wouldn't they do to accomodate an Oscar winner? CATHERINE ZETA JONES is being widely tipped to become the first female 00 secret agent in the next James Bond blockbuster. Don't those 00 agents have a very short life span as long as they're not 007? ;D The next Bond film, which has the working title Beyond the Ice, is thought to revolve around a master villain who holds the world to ransom with a "greenhouse weapon". "Beyond the Ice"? Again? It will be shot in Alaska, Ireland, Boston, Norway and Britain and is due to be released next Christmas. Yes!!! Keep me posted on Boston locations and I'll share all the pictures I can get! But give the number of mistakes/inacuracies in this article, can I trust it?
