Pierce with Charlotte (or as Yahoo refers to her: Unidentified Guest) on the red carpet:

I watched the Red Carpet live and cringed at Ruby Wax interviewing all the folk - ugh! I think she can be good in stand-up but she's totally wrong for this kind of thing! E! would be wise to get someone else for the red carpet in future years. However I did like the chat with Pierce and Charlotte, who was accompanying him. Pierce knows her from way back when he and Cassie first went to the US and stayed with Ruby, so the chat was quite amusing. There was also a snip from the preparty event when he spoke to Richard Bacon (which had obviously been cut a bit). The video's now set for the actual awards coz we're watching Marple on ITV1.

Unidentified guest? Well, at least it might spare her the media attention if they don't know who she is. Lovely pictures, though!

I just sneaked a quick look at the video before bed. Pierce presented the David Lean Award for Achievement in Direction to Ang Lee for Brokeback Mountain. Full awards list here: www.bafta.org/site/page287.htmlI won't get to watch the video properly till tomorrow afternoon UK time. No it's the newer series with Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple and tonight's was By the Pricking of My Thumbs, which wasn't a Miss Marple story, but a Tommy and Tuppence one. They introduced Miss Marple as a visitor to one of the nursing home ladies. Tuppence and Miss Marple solved the mystery together. Chayna

That's two Director Awards presented in a row for Pierce at the BAFTAs. Dalton will be in one of the new Miss Marples -- I've read he'll play one of the main victims. I loved the old Tommy and Tuppance ones with Francesca Annis. I have a hard time seeing them get along with the very proper and rather cold blooded Miss Marple. My favorite Miss Marple was Margaret Rutherford from the 50s films, probably because she was so much more fun than her book counterpart. Ace

Sooo bloody elegant. And wearing the iconic tux configuration again, I see - Bond be damned. Poor Charlotte, getting the Laura Holt treatment as unidentified female. Its what happens when one walks alongside this particular man.
Personal rant: another unnecessary haircut, dammit. Pierce, stay away from your mate Provenzano for awhile. He's got scissors.
Does anyone know why they're called the ORANGE Baftas? Is there any way we can see this show here in the states?

BBC America is showing it right now, but it's a satellite-only channel. I missed the first hour and a half, so I think I missed PB. But it's going to be repeated at 11 p.m.
I know my being able to see it is a hollow consolation for the rest of you, but I can't make movie files.

Does anyone know why they're called the ORANGE Baftas? They call it the Orange Baftas because the mobile phone company "Orange" Sponsors it.

The older Charlotte gets, the more she looks like her mum. And that is a good thing.
And the daughter in question needs to start wearing a name tag so folks can remember her. :-D

It's Saturday morning here and I've just run an internet search to see if he's presenting at the Oscars. Bubkis, to quote Mildred Krebbs. The only hint was an old article about the gift package presenters would receive, his name was listed there. But no, nothing official, not even on oscars.com, at this very late date.
He may still be in Portugal relaxing with his Mum after doing the obligatory beer commercial there. Or maybe it's a travel day for him. Is it back to England? Does anybody know where he's due to be next?
After the disappointment of the Golden Globes, presenting at SAG and BAFTA, perhaps he thought enough, back to work.

He was mentioned in several of the goody bag articles up til yesterday. He was also mentioned as co-hosting one of the Charity parties held during/post oscars. But he's not currently on the official list of presenters at Oscars.org though the list looks rather short. So who knows? He was only in Portugal for 3 or so days and left before the end of Feb. Even if he hopped back to London, he starts filming in Vancouver on Butterfly on a Wheel on March 8th so he should probably be back in the states by this weekend.

Not the much awaited piece of information, but I found this from L.A. Times: The Envelope: Photo: Pierce Brosnan at last year's Star Day, rehearsing with help from stage manager Dency Nelson.
