March 28, 2009
Spring Greetings.
I am currently in Berlin working with Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Roman Polanski, who is directing and producing The Ghost, his first contemporary thriller in more than twenty years. Based on the book of the same name by best-selling author Robert Harris, The Ghost details the story of a former British Prime Minister and his anonymous ghostwriter who is drawn into a political and sexual conspiracy. The talented cast includes Ewan McGregor, Tom Wilkinson, Kim Cattrall, Timothy Hutton, Jim Belushi, Robert Pugh, and Olivia Williams.
This April I will begin principal photography on Percy Jackson, based on the popular children's book series by Rick Riordan. The film will be directed by my friend Chris Columbus, with whom I worked with on Mrs. Doubtfire. Other cast members include Uma Thurman, Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd and Melina Kanakerides. The story centers on a teenage boy who embarks on a quest to save his mother, by entering the world of Greek mythology.
Last summer my company Irish DreamTime produced The Greatest, starring Susan Sarandon, Carey Mulligan, Aaron Johnson, Johnny Simmons and myself, which was well received at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. First time writer/director Shana Feste's richly evocative script results in a compelling drama that is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. The Hollywood Reporter asserts The Greatest "pulls off a stunning fete" and "...performances are daring and brilliantly shaded." The Greatest was purchased by Senator Entertainment and will be released this fall.
See you at the movies.
Love and only love,
Pierce

January 15th, 2009 Dear Friends, Happy New Year! Here’s to 2010 and what I believe will be a good year for us all! These next few months will be particularly busy as I have four films soon to be released. Each film has been memorable in its own small way. Working with Roman Polanski on “The Ghost Writer” was amazing. As an actor, I felt the presence of the movie every day on the set. Roman’s energy knows no bounds. He is in constant motion and never misses a beat. Having watched just about every film this talented director has ever made was like stepping back in time. One day I was sitting on the camera dolly as Roman was directing a scene, and there lay a small leather pouch burnished with time, with his viewfinder inside. The viewfinder was like some talisman that had seen the faces of countless actors before me. The numbers were so faint that they had to be painted on tape. And when I looked through it, I could see the scratches, dust and grime that had worn away the lens. The viewfinder was never far from his hand or discerning eye. “The Ghost Writer” starring Ewan McGregor, Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams, Eli Wallach, Timothy Hutton, Jim Belushi and Tom Wilkinson will make its debut at the Berlin Film Festival Friday, February 12th and is set to be released domestically on February 19th. “The Greatest” is a movie I produced with Beau Marie St. Claire, my partner at Irish DreamTime. It premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival but the company that purchased the film collapsed. Thank God for Mark Thurman and Paladin Entertainment who will now release the film March 26th. I think this film will leave an indelible impression on families who have lost a child, and who have suffered the agony that befalls them in the months thereafter. “The Greatest” has heart, soul, and a sense of hope. It was written and directed by Shana Feste, who made her debut as a first time director with this inspired independent feature film. (Well, actually, she is onto her second movie, but this was where it all started for her.) I also got to work with one of the most beautiful, sexy and candid women in the cinema, Susan Sarandon. I knew she was interested in making “The Greatest,” so I called her up, and left a message that I was going to produce a small feature film in New York and that I would love for her to be a part of it. I said I was ready to jump in and do it… “why not?” She called back and said, “You got me with “why not?” “The Greatest” also features the luminous Carey Mulligan, an actress who will enthrall us all for many years to come. I spent a couple months last summer going back and forth to Vancouver to film “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief.” It had been a long time since “Mrs. Doubtfire” and it was a great honor to work with director Chris Columbus again. The ensemble cast includes Uma Thurman, Sean Bean, Rosario Dawson, Catherine Keener, Melina Kanakaredes, and Logan Lerman. My young sons Dylan and Paris are over the moon that I am playing Professor Brunner who transforms into Chiron. Chiron is a centaur… half man, half horse…yes, I play a horse’s ass. “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief” opens on the big screen February 12th. I also shot “Remember Me” with Chris Cooper, Lena Olin, Emilie de Ravin and the dashing Robert Pattinson, during the summer of 2009. We all found ourselves in the heart of Manhattan and Brooklyn surrounded by a couple hundred screaming teenage girls every day. For any young actor to be thrown into the ferocious limelight as Robert has been – must take its toll. He worked very hard and I wish him every success. Robert acquitted himself grandly. “Remember Me” will be in theaters March 19th. Whatever warms your heart… Whatever makes you smile… Whatever brings you love and laughter… May they be yours throughout 2010. See you at the movies. Love and only love, Pierce ======================================== How intuitive of Pierce to list his upcoming four films, not by release date but in the order I'm excited to see them.

Official Newsletter: March 26th, 2009 www.piercebrosnan.comDear Friends, Spring greetings. Hope this letter finds you well. I recently returned from a 45-day press tour to promote several new films I am proud to have been a part of. I am pleased that "Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightening Thief" opened in February at #2 at the box office and that it has delighted young fans across America. "The Ghost Writer," based upon the book "The Ghost," written by Robert Harris and directed by Roman Polanski has received critical acclaim from The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, The Hollywood Reporter, and Rolling Stone. "The Ghost Writer" is rolling out to wider audiences this week. On March 12th, "Remember Me" starring Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Chris Cooper, Lena Olin, and myself opened nationwide. Kirk Honeycutt for The Hollywood Reporter wrote: "Remember Me" is a smart, engaging drama about young love flourishing amid sadness and loss. Claudia Puig for USA Today said "Remember Me" is a touching love story, but its broader tale of familial relations packs a greater emotional punch. Next up, "The Greatest," starring one of the most beautiful and candid women in the cinema, Susan Sarandon and the luminous Carey Mulligan, which I produced with Beau Marie St. Claire, my partner at Irish DreamTime, and Lynette Howell. "The Greatest" which premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, was written and directed by Shana Feste, who made her debut as a first time director with this inspired independent feature film. This April 22nd celebrate Earth Day 2010 by taking your family to see "Oceans," a documentary I narrate, produced by DisneyNature, the studio that presented the record-breaking film "Earth." Directors Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud feature spectacular never-before-seen imagery captured by the latest underwater technologies, offering an unprecedented look at the mysteries that lie beneath the seas while exploring the harsh realities and amazing creatures that live within. In honor of every guest who sees "Oceans" during opening week (April 22-28, 2010), DisneyNature will make a contribution to The Nature Conservancy to help save coral reefs. This spring I begin production on a new film titled "Salvation Boulevard" based on a novel of the same name, written by Larry Beinhart, (who also wrote "Wag the Dog"). "Salvation Boulevard" follows a former Deadhead-turned-born again-Christian who finds himself on the run from fundamentalist members of his mega church who will do anything to protect their larger-than life pastor (yours truly). Greg Kinnear, Ed Harris, Marisa Tomei, Sam Elliot, Jim Gaffigan, and Jennifer Connolly round out this all-star cast. The film will be directed by George Radliff. Wishing you a great year ahead. See you at the movies. Love and only love,

www.piercebrosnan.com/menu.php?mm=1&sm=1&pn=1March 17th, 2011 Dear Friends, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Please join me tonight in raising a glass of good cheer to all our Irish brothers and sisters! I will be spending an enchanting evening filled with music, song, dance and poetry readings at Royce Hall with my fellow countrymen and conductor /composer Eimear Noon. Yours truly will be reading W.B. Yeat’s, Easter 1916. I have just returned home after completing principal photography on "I Don’t Know How She Does It" in New York City with the lovely and incomparable Sara Jessica Parker. Based on Allison Pearson’s bestselling book and directed by Douglas McGrath, the talented cast of this romantic comedy also includes Greg Kinnear, Olivia Munn and Kelsey Grammer. I was also in Ireland recently to introduce Her Excellency Mary McAleese at the Irish Film and Television Awards (where I happily collected an award for Best Supporting Actor for "The Ghostwriter"). I then had the privilege of speaking to a group of Irish film students associated with Cinemagic (a Belfast-based organization) at Pepperdine University. It is inspiring to watch the next generation of artists come up through the ranks. Next up, I will be working in Italy on a film tentatively titled "All You Need Is Love," with Susan Bier who won an Oscar this year for the Best Foreign Language Film, "In a Better World." This delightful love story mixes the lighthearted with serious and humorous and begins production on the Almalfi coast this spring. I encourage you check out Susan’s movies, including "After the Wedding" and "Open Hearts" to name a few. This summer look for "Salvation Boulevard" in theatres near you. Based on a novel of the same name, Salvation Boulevard written by Larry Beinhart and directed by George Radliff, follows a former Deadhead-turned-born-again-Christian who finds himself on the run from fundamentalist members of his mega church who will do anything to protect their larger than life pastor (yours truly). Greg Kinnear, Ed Harris, Marisa Tomei, Sam Elliot, Jim Gaffigan, and Jennifer Connolly contributed to this hilarious all-star cast. I am deeply saddened and distressed by the tragedy, loss of life, suffering and hardship that has befallen Japan. There are no words to adequately express my feelings of sorrow. Life turns in a moment and always reminds us what a gift each day truly is. My thoughts and prayers are with our Japanese friends at this difficult time. Love and only love,

Rosa, I noticed that a couple of days ago. I assume and hope it's because they're finally doing a big update of the site. Even if it wasn't going to be updated any more I don't know why he'd disband the site and lose the domain name he sued to get from a squatter.

Pierce Brosnan ha compartido un enlace. 31 de mayo. My friend Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd, has been detained in Germany and faces extradition to Costa Rico where he will surely endure much hardship for trying to do the right thing by our oceans and her diminishing wild life. If you care for Captain Paul as I do, please follow the story at www.seashepherd.org/ and help out as you can. Love and only love, Pierce This was the last new of Pierce
