A Night Rider remake, huh? Well, Hasselhoff can sure use the publicity. Good news on the RS movie front though. Just did a double take on one answer where he says he listens to Green Day, among other truly lovely stuff. He really has to stop doing that. He makes it look like he and I really have joint record collections. (I'm staying in love all the same, Pierce. )

A new opening letter from Pierce and he gives a nice rundown on his projects:
July 17, 2006
Dear Friends:
Summer greetings!
I hope wherever you may be you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying the great outdoors.
I just finished a very brief vacation with my family and am now in Vancouver working on a new film titled Marriage, co-staring Chris Cooper, Patricia Clarkson, and Rachel McAdams.
My production company Irish DreamTime is still going full steam ahead on The Thomas Crown Affair sequel and we are in the planning stages for filming in Europe and New York City.
Please check your local PBS listings for a six-part documentary I narrated called Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Adventures. The series illuminates the need for better understanding and sustainable management of the oceans' rich natural treasures. I also want to congratulate my friend Jean-Michel who after arranging a private screening of his documentary for President Bush, inspired the President to designate 140,000 square miles surrounding the northwestern Hawaiian islands as the worlds largest marine sanctuary.
This fall look for Seraphim Falls, a period piece set in the post-Civil War era, co-starring Liam Neeson and myself. In early 2007, Irish DreamTime and Icon Pictures will release the psychological thriller titled Butterfly on a Wheel, co-starring Maria Bello and Gerard Butler.
Lastly, The Matador has just been released on DVD and it’s currently #1 for DVD rentals. If you’d like to order a copy, please click here.
Stay tuned for more movie news.
Love and only love,
Pierce

I'm glad to hear that Seraphim Falls will be out before the end of the year....and that The Matador is doing so well, actually I haven't any doubt about that, perhaps it would have been a success also in the theatres if the distribution had been made better.

I wonder why they've been stuck on the same 6 photo loop for months in Picture of the Day? Not that I don't love the photos but there used to be over a hundred new ones that weren't yet sent to the archive. And then they just stopped. If they couldn't show some of them any more then why not other new ones or reuse the ones in the archive?

The Sept 13, State of the Pierce address. September 13, 2006 Dear Friends, Greetings. Summer has come to a close and I have just wrapped my latest film called Marriage written and directed by Ira Sachs. I am in the very fine company of actors whom I have the greatest admiration for; Christopher Cooper, Rachel McAdams and Patricia Clarkson. The work went very well, long hours with a number of night shoots thrown in for good measure. The film, set in Seattle 1949, has a grace and an elegance, and is a story we can all relate to, one of love and marriage, time lost, secrets and sorrows. I have been in the beautiful city of Vancouver, a wonderful place to make movies, for several weeks. I was previously here this year with my production company Irish DreamTime filming Butterfly On A Wheel, co-starring Maria Bello and Gerard Butler, a psychological thriller directed by Mike Barker and written by Bill Morrissey. Currently, I’m in Toronto for the Film Festival Gala screening of Seraphim Falls, a period piece set in the post Civil War era co-starring Liam Neeson and myself, written and directed by David Von Ancken. Here’s hoping you all have a beautiful fall season. Stay tuned for more movie news! Be well. Love and only love, Pierce P.S. Happy Birthday Sean!

Yippee! Someone "heard" us complaining.

They may have heard us complaining about old Pictures of the Day. But in Safari, there are *no* pictures of the day. There's just a question mark on the index page and when I click it, it tells me the date an image was posted, but there's just a question mark.
I've been sending the webmaster a reminder note every day, but so far it hasn't been fixed.
Debra
P.S. I can see the photos in Netscape, but that doesn't help anyone who only uses Safari. And I use Safari 90% of the time now.

Pierce Brosnan.comNovember 27, 2006 Dear Friends, Season's Greetings. It's hard to believe a New Year is almost upon us. I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm pleased to announce that my latest film Seraphim Falls, a period piece set in the post Civil War era, co-starring Liam Neeson and myself, and written and directed by David Von Ancken will be released on January 26th, 2007. Following, look for Butterfly On A Wheel, produced by Irish DreamTime, co-starring Maria Bello and Gerard Butler. It's a psychological thriller directed by Mike Barker and written by Bill Morrissey. Also due for release in 2007, Marriage, an ensemble piece, written and directed by Ira Sachs. Starring Christopher Cooper, Rachel McAdams and Patricia Clarkson, the film is a period piece set in Seattle in 1949, and is a story we can all relate to, one of love and marriage, secrets and sorrows. Having completed Marriage near the end of summer, one of three films I made back to back, I decided to take some time off this fall and spend it with my family. It gets harder and harder to leave home for long periods of time to make movies as my youngest children are 5 and 9, and it's good being home to share in their adventures. For anyone who missed the World Cup, check out the official FIFA sanctioned World Cup soccer documentary directed by Michael Apted and narrated by yours truly. The documentary provides an overview of all the tournament's action and drama including never-before-seen footage shot on proprietary 35mm cameras during the quarter-finals up through the final itself. For those of you in the Los Angeles area you may wish to visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art exhibit: Magritte and Contemporary Art: The Treachery of Images and listen to the audio tour I narrated. The exhibit opened on November 19th and runs through March 4th, 2007. Here's wishing you all a Happy Holiday Season. Stay tuned for more movie news! Love and only love, Pierce

Yes, he periodically writes updates and posts them on his website. It's at www.piercebrosnan.com and well worth visiting. The FIFA documentary comes out Nov 27th in some countries like the UK and Germany and in Jan in others like the US and France. It's available on the various Amazon sites and probably other DVD sites. It's discussed a bit with more info under the TV & Film section -- HEREAce

Pretty much the same letter with a little more description of Seraphim Falls.
December 12, 2006
Dear Friends,
Happy Holidays.
I'm pleased to announce that my latest film Seraphim Falls, an epic action/thriller set against the backdrop of the American Civil War starring Liam Neeson and myself, will be released on January 26th, 2007. The film was written and directed by David Von Ancken, and is a visceral study of revenge and the aftermath of war. Shot entirely on location in Taos and Santa Fe, I hope the raw brutality and savage beautyof Seraphim Falls will leave you on the edge of your seats.
The Q & A page at Pierce's website was updated yesterday and I am SOOOOOOOOO excited!! Months ago I sent in a question thinking it would never be answered ... it was just a silly little thing and it had been so long since that page was updated!!! Well .... he answered my question!!! I could NOT believe my eyes! I'm so psyched ... it's as if for one brief moment .. he touched into my life!!! What a fun thing to see in the middle of my sitting here in a blizzard....with cancelled travel plans!!! It's the question asking if he's a day person or a night person...they even left the punctuation as I wrote it .... it's my exact question!!! Ahhh.... it's these little things that make life fun!
