Justin Timberlake will perform a surprise set at the London Live Earth show.

The 'SexyBack' singer and his producer Timbaland are expected to join Duran Duran on stage at the new Wembley Stadium for the spectacular concert on Saturday (07.07.07).

Justin is a huge fan of the 80s pop band - who he worked with on their new album earlier this year - and reportedly jumped at the chance to perform with them.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Justin and Timberland have been rehearsing. They have something special up their sleeve for fans at Wembley.

They are juggling their schedules to make it happen."

The 26-year-old singer will make his surprise appearance hours before performing at London's The O2 arena, the latest show on his 'FutureSex/LoveShow' tour.

Meanwhile, the full line-up for Live Earth London - one of a series of global concerts being held to highlight the dangers of global warming - has been unveiled.

Highlights include Madonna closing the event with hit 'Hung Up', the Beastie Boys blasting out 'Sabotage', Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers, both introduced by US comedian Chris Rock, and Keith Urban and Alicia Keys teaming up to perform Rolling Stones classic 'Gimme Shelter'.

Comedian Ricky Gervais will introduce spoof rock band Spinal Tap, while Genesis, fronted by Phil Collins, will kick off proceedings.

Other presenters include Pierce Brosnan, Thandie Newton, Ben Affleck, Penelope Cruz, Catherine Tate and British radio DJ Chris Moyles.

The 24-hour Live Earth concert series - organised by former US Vice President Al Gore - will begin in Sydney on Saturday and continue with shows in Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg, London, Hamburg and Istanbul, before concluding in New York. (c)

The running order, plus what acts will play at climate gig

The line-up for the London leg of this weekend's Live Earth (July 7) climate concert has emerged ahead of the Wembley Stadium show.

Setlists, guest hosts and even a surprise appearance by Justin Timberlake have been published this morning (July 5).

Timberlake is set to make a guest appearance in Duran Duran's set, while 'Dr Who' actor David Tennant, comedians including Ricky Gervais, Eddie Izzard and former Shockwaves NME Awards host Russell Brand plus Hollywood actors Ben Affleck and Leonard DiCaprio will be present, reports The Sun.

Independent Media, The Whitehouse Team On Live Earth PSAs

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 05, 2007, --- Directors out of Independent Media, a Santa Monica-based production house headed by executive producer Susanne Preissler, and editors from The Whitehouse, with studios in New York, Chicago, Santa Monica and London, have collaborated on more than 40 star-studded, awareness-boosting PSAs for Live Earth, to air on broadcast partners worldwide, particularly NBC and BBC, as well as over the web. Celebrities in the spots--Will Ferrell, Chris Rock, Ben Affleck, Pierce Brosnan, Cameron Diaz, Emily Blunt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tobey Maguire, Holly Hunter, Josh Lucas, Ken Watanabe, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Biel, Naomi Campbell and Jennifer Garner, among other international stars--offer practical tips on how everyone can do something positive for the environment.

Independent Media directors on the project included Bronwen Hughes (Stander, The L Word), Elias Merhige (Shadow of a Vampire, Suspect Zero), Peter Chelsom (Shall We Dance), Tony Goldwyn (Last Kiss, Dexter, Grey's Anatomy), Danny Leiner (The Sopranos, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), Tom Foley and b.ling. The project also drew noted DPs, including both two-time Oscar winners Janusz Kaminski (Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List) and Robert Richardson (The Aviator, JFK), among others. (Richardson directs commercials via bicoastal Tool of North America.)

Part of a global movement to solve the climate crisis, Live Earth, co-founded by Al Gore and Kevin Wall (Live 8), is a 24-hour, seven-continent series of eight concerts taking place on 7/7/07 that brings together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people. Production of the star-studded ad campaign posed an enormous logistical challenge for Independent Media, due to multiple shoot locations in Los Angeles, London and New York, and the juggling of celebrity schedules under a tight deadline.

Green Advice

In "Cover Your Tracks," Ben Affleck softly hums and toe-taps to his iPod in an anonymous public space. Affleck's voiceover intones, "Cover your tracks. By purchasing digital media online, you can help conserve the oil consumed in transporting CDs to and from the store." Cutting to black, the Live Earth/SOS logo and tag "The Concert For A Climate In Crisis" appear, accompanied by Madonna's theme for the campaign, "Hey You."

In "Blackberry," Julia Louis-Dreyfus thumbs over text messages on her PDA. The voiceover advises, "Pass it on. Forward your friends a Live Earth text message or email, and inspire them to join the movement to combat the climate crisis." The scene cuts to the Live Earth/SOS logo and Madonna's vocal stylings.

In "Junk Mail", Will Ferrell comically sidesteps an absurd amount of junk mail piled outside of his front door. This entry features 1.888.5.OPT.OUT, a number that helps people remove their information from junk mail lists.

"Coffee" features Jennifer Garner offering an alternative solution to coffee filters, "White paper filters may fill up your cup, but they also fill up our landfills. Make your next cup with a reusable filter."

Merhige directed "Coffee," "Cover Your Tracks," "Blackberry" and "Junk Mail." Maloney edited "Blackberry" and "Cover Your Tracks." Langley cut "Junk Mail." Puglise-Kipley edited "Coffee."
"Pump Up" features Chris Rock humorously adjusting the air pressure in his car tires with the voiceover, "Pump up, pump less. Properly inflated tires can improve your gas mileage enough to earn you a free tank of gas every year." Leiner directed and Langley edited "Pump Up."

In the Foley-directed "Fishing," Pierce Brosnan casts a line into an urban river, surrounded by a brick edifice and concrete. He tugs and pulls on his hooked rod, and reels in not a fish, but a plastic bottle. The voiceover informs, "Every year the average trash can contains a potential 500 baths, 3,500 showers and 5,000 hours of television." Gunn edited "Fishing."

In the Hughes-directed "Bottle," Cameron Diaz fills a personal plastic bottle with water as she educates us on American's excessive use of plastic bottles; the creation of which is damaging to our planet. Fuller cut "Bottle."

Among the other entries in the campaign were PSAs featuring Jessica Biel, Tobey Maguire, Emily Blunt and Robert Patrick (all directed by Chelsom), Naomi Campbell (directed by b.ling), Penelope Cruz (helmed by Goldwyn), Ken Watanabe (directed by Leiner), Holly Hunter and Josh Lucas (with Merhige as director) and Jason Biggs, Anna Friel and another featuring Campbell (helmed by Foley).

Live Earth provided scripts (there was no agency involved), which Independent Media executed, covering every aspect including the voiceovers. The celebrities, as well as the directors, had input on the scripts during production.

"A lot of people working on this campaign--from the celebrities to production personnel to producers to editors--have done so out of passionate concern for the cause," Preissler noted. "We couldn't have done it without all the committed individuals who gave 110 percent to make the campaign a success."

N24 is going to televise the events from around the world all day. Pro7 has as far as I know the show in Hamburg coupled with a showing of An Inconvenient Truth.

I haven't seen any photos of Pierce up on Getty from the concert (there are of other presenters). So did he show up? Or have they changed the schedule around a bit?

I watched a great deal of the coverage, but I didn't see him either.

Here in Germany they were switching back and forth between different countries and were only showing the musical acts and none of the other people appearing. He might very well have been there, but they cut away from him. >:-(
