Hi all there! Is Pierce going to appear at the oscars this year? Or would he rather like to celebrate the birthday of his son Paris?

Considering Paris will be only 4, I'm sure he could do both in the same day.
But no, no news on him presenting at the Oscars but then he's only done that about 3 times, he doesn't do it every year.

I take it the Oscars will be held on Paris' birthday. That means he's still technically only 3. Have you seen how tall this kid is? He's catching up to his brother in height.
Anyway no chance PB will be at the Oscars if they've got him going to India later this month. He's halfway there, in the UK now. I've read that he's going to India to promote Omega Seamaster watches. They'll have a contest and if you win, you choose either a watch or to meet Pierce. A no-brainer if ever there was one.

I sort of half expected him to be at the Oscars 2005 myself. I guess I'm just spoiled by last year's Oscars and appearances at the Globes in two consecutive years.

He'll be in LA that night co-hosting the yearly CHILDREN UNITING NATIONS party.
From Contact Music:
FUGEES star WYCLEF JEAN and CHAKA KHAN are set to rock the OSCARS without even attending the glitzy event.
The two superstars will join forces to perform at a charity viewing dinner and after-show party, hosted by celebrity couples PIERCE and KEELY BROSNAN, PAMELA ANDERSON and STEPHEN DORFF and TRACEY and KENNETH 'BABYFACE' EDMONDS on behalf of foster child charity CHILDREN UNITING NATIONS.
AMERICAN IDOL judge PAULA ABDUL is tapped to present the after-OSCARS party, which will also feature performances by Best Actor favourite JAMIE FOXX, actress MARIA CONCHITA ALONSO and PARIS HILTON.
The event takes place at THE FACTORY in West Hollywood on 27 February (05).

So....he's going to be at the dinner, disappear, present and go back?
I guarantee you someone will come to him and ask if he is alright because he was in the bathroom for so long. ;-)

Alas dear Ace, I do believe the article says it is a viewing AND after awards party.
So yes, someone will ask Pierce why he was in the bathroom for so long, and SMA will look at his beautiful wife, arch his brow as only he can, and reply "Because I was flush with excitment."
:-D

Doesn't say he'll be there doing the viewing. Rather doubtful in fact. Probably only for those stuck not getting tickets. The real party doesn't begin until after the Oscars. Though he'd probably be thrilled to be able to skip the red carpet and Joan Rivers. Oh the horror! Ace

He's presenting with the animated figure Edna 'E' Mode from 'The Incredibles'.
So either he's doing best Animated film or he's doing best costuming because she's a designer. I have to say, that's the BEST partner they could find for him. She was my favorite female character of all last year in movies (although voiced by Director Brad Bird).
Hopefully Bird wrote the presenter patter and not the Oscar writers cause usually they're stuff is usually just ugh.

Egads, his voice was torn to shreads! Never heard it that bad. He absolutely has to stay off it now for a couple days or he could damaged his vocal chords. I'd guess it was too late to call in sick since his presentation with that Edith Head cartoon required prior rehersal. Anyway he pulled it off and the way he was glaring and being cut off by her reminded me of his Saturday Night Live monolog with the fake Sean Connery.
Let's see, I counted 5 leading ladies at the Oscars last night: Striesand, Bennet, Masden, Berry, and Hyack. They really ought to form a club of very special and lucky ladies. (No, Robin Williams, you don't qualify.) They can all sit around munching Hostess Snowballs comparing detailed notes on a very hot topic.
Once again, his hair's too short. -IcyCalm

From the NY Post: CINDY ADAMS.... -- AS always, Miramax's pre party was the party. DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Alan Alda, weary Pierce Brosnan, who'd schlepped over from his 4-year-old's all-day birthday party because the Weinsteins are doing his film "Matador." ================================== An all day part with 4 years olds... that explains the voice. The hair was fine, he looked as gorgeous as he sounded horrible.

haha, thank you, Ace for the nice pictures! But I felt asleep - it was too late. Can anyone tell me if pierce was seen when he arrived? And when did he present? Thank you! I didn't see him on any of the red carpet shows but then I kept switching them aorund and off because I could only take so much of the interviewers. Everyone except Ebert is embarrassing. The photos of him and Keely are from the red carpet but he probably came late and skipped the interviews since he had severe laryngitis. He presented in the first hour or so. I'll have the clip up of it on the Media section of PB Files hopefully within the half hour. [Edit: It's up -- please download and save to your computer to save me bandwidth] As for the presentation: A fistful of Oscar momentsBy Claudia Puig, USA TODAY Face lifts have become a Hollywood staple, so it makes sense that the Oscars would get some nipping and tucking. Among alterations: That endless walk up to the podium was shorter for some, alleviating the risk of stiletto-induced broken ankles. This year the winners' path to glory was as smooth as a newly Botoxed forehead, and we were able to concentrate on other dramas. So, in tribute to Clint Eastwood, USA TODAY highlights some of the good, the bad and the ugly moments: Eastwood wins | A long-overdue honor | Foxx, touching and funny | Hollywood basks in its glorious past | That's Incredible Bird also appeared in an undercover role: costume design presenter. He voiced computer-animated fashion maven Edna Mode, as he did in the movie. He/she held his own smashingly alongside a dashing but hoarse Pierce Brosnan, whose sartorial splendor Edna would no doubt approve of. All in all, the night classily emphasized the array of contributions to top-notch work. BBC: Rock sparkles on Oscar debut However, Rock was not the only comedy highlight - Pierce Brosnan's appearance alongside The Incredible's Edna Mode worked very well. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Tuned In: Oscars didn't rock with Rock but rolled along smoothly enoughBest co-presenter: The animated "Incredibles" designer Edna Mode (voice of the film's director, Brad Bird) helped Pierce Brosnan give out the costume design award. Perfect choice, darling.
