(London) James Bond fans won't have to wait until 2005 to see their favorite secret agent save the world once again in his next adventure "Linoleum Doesn't Bleed". That's because 007 can be seen in the upcoming 2004 Jinx feature film "Out of Sync", starring Oscar winning actress Halle Berry as the street-smart, tough, and sensuous CIA agent. Jinx was first introduced in the last Bond film, "Die Another Day". Bond producer Michael G. Wilson announced earlier today that actor Pierce Brosnan would appear as James Bond in "Out of Sync".
"I am relieved, err... I mean, pleased, to announce that Pierce Brosnan will be appearing in the Jinx movie," Wilson told reporters.
How much screen time will Brosnan have?
"It's premature to speculate on that right now," Wilson explained. "In fact, it's still unclear whether or not Pierce himself will be in the film or if we will employ a CGI generated image of Pierce."
Will there be much CGI in the film?
"Oh heavens, yes!" exclaimed Wilson. "The entire movie is practically all CGI. Like that fish movie that just came out. Only not quite as realistic looking. Let's face it, MGM isn't willing to shell out the big bucks for quality CGI like Disney is. So we make do with what we have: two college interns and a 1989 Macintosh computer."
Has a release date been set for "Out of Sync"?
"Not yet," Wilson explained. "Most of the principle filming is complete and we've been collecting some preliminary feedback from several test audiences. We intend to fine-tune the film in the editing room based upon the feedback received from the test audiences. One of the suggestions, in fact, was to add a cameo by Pierce."
Can you elaborate some more on these test audiences?
"Certainly," Wilson obliged. "We've been conducting preliminary screenings with three test audiences: filmgoers in Chicago, filmgoers in London, and a group of Rhesus monkeys on loan to us from the Australian National Zoo. Initial results were not encouraging, I'm afraid. The overwhelming majority of viewers did not care for the film - 65% indicated they would rather undergo a root canal operation without anesthesia rather than see this film again, 34% indicated they would rather see 'Gigli' again instead of this film again, and 1 viewer even stated he would rather see 'Lara Croft Tombraider 2: The Cradle Of Life' again rather than this film. Hard to believe, I know. Not only that, but one set of test audiences responded by flinging their own feces at the screen throughout most of the film."
But aren't Rhesus monkeys known to exhibit that behavour?
"No, I was referring to the Chicago audience."
