Admittedly, I only got into Remington Steele this year. I think the show was either on too late in the 80's for me, or it was on in my Motley Crue phase... or both:) Either way, because of Nexflix I tried this out some months back.
STUNNED!!
Instant warmth. Instant chemistry. Instant elegance!
Anyway, after buying and viewing the first season of Remington, I decided to try out Moonlighting and Hart to Hart, two shows in which I had heard good things about and that were often cited in the same vein as Remington Steele. Call me a fanboy but these two shows were NOTHING like RS! I found ML to be very cold and stagey. Normally I like Bruce Willis but I found the humor and his tone off putting. As far as Hart, it was almost like a cruel imitation, regardless of what had come first. And I found "Max" to be nausiating!
I honestly put off trying out ML and H2H only because I loved RS so much and I was afraid I think of it being "trumped". Little did I know these other two shows were laughable by comparison... honest and truly I laughed at Hart to Hart when I Netflixed it, I found it to be THAT BAD!!
Last night I finished Season 3 of RS in light of S4 and S5 coming out and was AMAZED at that little Alias style cliff hanger!! YES!! LOVE IT!! Can't wait for S4 now.....!!!
Opinions?

I used to watch Hart to Hart all the time in its early years. I grew up as a huge Robert Wagner fan.
Never did get interested in Moonlighting.
Remington Steele. What can I say? I'm a huge fan from the beginning. Having grown up watching TV mysteries series, it's only obvious that I would follow through into the 1980s with my passion that began in childhood watching reruns of 1950s TV mysteries: 77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, Richard Diamond, Mr and Mrs North, Tightrope, etc. The early list is endless. Also Stephanie was the daughter of one of my favorite actors so it my attention when RS was first aired.
RS had everything for me. A lovely take charge leading lady. A handsome mysterious man. Intrigue. Mystery. Comedy. A great office assistant who wanted to spread her wings into detection. Lots of old movie references. Romance. I was totally hooked. Still am.
