I hate to see PB's name linked with Barbra Streisand's on anything political. :: decides to leave it at that :: cg p.s. to Sparkling Blue: Oh, come on, he's *never* done anything you disagree with? ;D

"Demo Media Smear Against Arnold Backfires"Posted by Leo Lacayo Saturday, October 04, 2003 www.chronwatch.com/editorial/contentDisplay.asp?aid=4499The air waves and biased newspapers spun with all their might. They fired thier best shots, flinging attacks directly at Arnold. The news is in: It backfired! Arnold picked up another 2 points. If the Democrats keep bringing out the same old smear tactics, the results will continue to be the same: More votes for therecall and more votes for Arnold. The reason is very simple--the issue at hand is not Arnold's private life. DUH! It's the way the state has been mismanaged. The failed governor is bringing out poor old Pierce Brosnan in his favor. The only problem is that Pierce is a nice enough guy, but he has made it by just being a pretty face. Talk about B-actors. Pierce's accomplishment is that he has managed to fake things, while Arnold has managed to actually DO things. So please, Gray, park the bull somewhere else because this endorsement doesn't help you. It makes you look like even more desperate than you are! Who's next on your pathetic parade of backers? Monday is moving-day in Sacramento. Celebrities and Recall personalities will drive U-Haul trucks and other moving vehicles to the State Capitol to help poor old Gray leave. They will be there with signs reminding Mrs. Davis to leave the state-owned silver and furniture. I wish they could take with them the budget deficit they produced, but instead they will take the suitcases of dirty money they have stolen from the people and extorted from their special interest friends. Meanwhile, Arnold's former girlfriend of six years was on FOX NEWS, shedding light: Arnold has apologized for his past indiscretions, he was NEVER a Nazi lover, but he is A BRILLIANT TRANSFORMER, immensely successful. This from the one woman aside from his mother, wife, and daughters who know him well. I don't have wonder why the Los Angeles Times, waited until the last minute to execute the smear. But that is part of the modus operandi of the manipulators. It is, in the word of one political commentator, the ''trademark'' of Gray Davis. Well, it looks like the people of California have finally had enough of the shameful disgusting tactics of the crooked politicians masquerading as Democrats to squeeze the life out of this state. VOTE YES ON RECALL VOTE FOR ARNOLD *** What kind of jerk wrote this anyway?

Wow, that's pretty harsh stuff. But when somebody's that rabid on either side, you know there's more emotion than brains involved. If you have to resort to name calling and derogatory remarks, then your own (that writer's, not necessarily Ah-nold's) positions must be hard to defend. Politics - bah, humbug.

Why be upset, this is funny stuff. I think it's absolutely a riot that a main basis of this guys article is that Arnold is an actor who does things for "real" as oppossed to "fake", and has he seen Arnold's latest stuff, pretty B material, sometimes C. *snort* Yep, delusionally funny stuff and for someone ranting and raving and claiming they want to discuss real issues also rather ironic.

I admit I was laughing as I read it, it was such a pathetic excuse for a "rationale." But I stand by my original comment - vitriol is not a substitute for an informed opinion on any issue.

I'm glad you can laugh about it--I can't. Send that kid who wrote this back to school.

I'm glad you can laugh about it--I can't. Send that kid who wrote this back to school. Lighten up - LOL. I'm sure people say such things about PB all the time. Anybody who gets good reviews also gets bad reviews. Don't take it to heart. cg

You're right, some people are just not able to duly appreciate the man.

www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2003/10/08/GRAY.TMPExcerpt: Davis always was terrible with people's names, which is a minor and forgivable offense, but eventually, it became symbolic of the transactional nature of his relationships. In the final week of the recall alone, he called an assemblywoman "Elaine" instead of Ellen, a state senator "Escutier" instead of Escutia, and the actor Pierce Brosnan, "Pierce Bronson."
