Here's Pierce narrating a "History of Robin Hood Movies: 1900 - 1991" I think it might be from the extras on the Costner version of the movie. It looks like it's only part of it, tho. If I come across the other part, I'll be sure to post it.

Dear eaz, many thanks. Is very interesting. In my opinion the best Robin is Kevin Kostner. Greetings

The Robin Hood special Pierce narrated on TV was an hour long, so what you found must be just a small clip.

That's what I figured, because it seemed to just end abruptly. I haven't come across the other parts yet. The person that uploaded it didn't have it in their library.

I sent the guy who uploaded this video a message asking if he had the rest of it and would he be willing to upload it. He just replied that he does have it, but doesn't have time to convert it and is worried about copyright issues of posting the whole thing. So unless someone else here has the show and can upload it, this looks like all we'll see of it for now.

There is only one Robin Hood - Errol Flynn. The rest are pretenders. The funny thing about Pierce doing the (rather cheesy) doc is that I kept thinking, he'd make a much better Robin than Costner. Frankly I thought Costner was the nadir of Hoods until Russel Crowe. Ugh. Who in heck wants a joyless dour Robin Hood?

I also agree that Pierce would have made a better RH than Costner, but I did like Alan Rickman as the Sherrif.

I remember seeing a Brosnan-less version of this in high school right before the film came out. It aired on a teen friendly news channel called Channel One, and this is where Anderson Cooper and Lisa Ling got their start.
This documentary is popular again because people referencing his "enthusiasm" for short cows in a drinking game that could play while watching Taffin which got the watchalong treatment this past Sunday.
