I just noticed CG now has TWO stars. So this board does have ranks somewhere. LOL It looks like 50 posts = 2 stars, I wonder how many you need for 3?
::slaps forehead:: I just found it under member info
50=2 stars 125= 3 stars 250= 4 stars 500= 5 stars
It looks like I can also change names and numbers of stars etc but frankly I have no idea what I'd change anything to! ;D

Cool! I hadn't noticed. (Too busy looking for Word ) At least I'm moving up *somewhere.* 300 posts on Kelly's board and no promotion! cg

I tink I'm still a secretary at Kelly's and after once being a Private Eye it's all very upsetting. OK, suggestions for the ranks.... I'm open to them. But as the default stands now when you get 500 you're listed as "God"... hard to top that. ;D Ace

That's not much of a requirement for God. I'd think there ought to be verified evidence of at least a couple of miracles.
Haven't you always had five stars, though, Ace? I assume that's a matter of R.H.I.P., huh? So to speak.

;D ;D ;D I've been "God" all along and I just didn't know. Not a very omniscient god evidently. I think that just goes automatically with the Administrator title. Ace

Ace, considering the shock you suffered when you stopped being Jewel Thief, I'd say you should make it the highest rank. This way, the lucky ramblelr will never lose their rank unless the Goddes of the Board has a way to delete their old posts.

Hmmm. I have to question a theology which acknowledges multiple gods based upon how verbose any aspirant is. If, theoretically, anybody could end up being god just by typing a lot, then what's the point? Sounds lame to me. cg

Not a bad idea ... any othe professions people would like to be? Beaver Trapper? MI6 Assassin? Thuggee? Clueless Presidential Advisor? Corporate Raider? Time Obsessed Adventurer? Taipan?.... ooh I might want to be Taipan! Ace

It was discussed on Kelly's board, quite a while ago.

I was vociferously quite put out from graduating from Jewel Thief to Apprentice Detective the last time around. *sigh* I've always wanted to be a Jewel Thief. Being an Apprentice alas was a severe comedown. The straight and narrow can be so confining. Ace

What? You'll never become a Jewel Thief again? And, embittered by your own decision, you decided to subject everyone else to the same fate? What do you know, though? I'm late. I wanted to suggest an Ornithologist for a rank. The lowest rank, I thought, but any rank will do. Consider it, it'll sound good. Yuliya <--- Suddenly not sure she likes to be called an Adventurer when there are bigger and better things.

ROTFL ::seconds the motion:: I'd rather be an ornithologist (isn't that someone who fixes birds' teeth?) than a nomad, particularly if the latter requires being photographed in the buff. Some of us aren't made for that. cg

Well I can always change Jewel Thief to a higher calling biut I wasn't sure it was what others aspired to be. And good idea with Ornithologist. I actually started off calling everyone a Radio Operator but didn't think anyone but maybe us would know why. LOL There are so many other ranks though that I overlooked like Conservationist , Professor, IRA Hitman, Deceiver, and Mad Scientist. Maybe later. Oh and I thought you'd like to be an "Adventurer"... you could be Phileas Fogg! Ace

I'd love to be Phileas Fogg but stricktly speacking he's not an adventurer. From Webster: 1 : one that adventures : as a : SOLDIER OF FORTUNE b : one that engages in risky commercial enterprises for profit 2 : one who seeks unmerited wealth or position especially by playing on the credulity or prejudice of others Fogg did it for free. He defended his principles but he still did it for free. Thats makes him... Being a cynic, I won't say because I still like him a lot. If we're talking PB's Fogg because the one in the book was quite different. I'd rather say Mr. Steele was an adventurer before he became Mr. Steele. Still, I'm not sure he would have liked to be called that. I'll think about it. It's not like I have a choice - not until I become a Jewel Thief anyway. Oh, and Jewel Thief is the highest calling. First you become a Secret Agent, get your license to kill, eliminate a few villains, save the world a few time, smuggle some diamonds in the process, and then and only then do you get to actually steal diamonds. Diamonds and eyeglasses. And while Bond might return the diamonds, the eyeglasses are gone! PB's got them.

Yes but... but.... time obsessed adventurer for non profit was too long to fit on one line! If one were noble then Conservationist would be top of the list over Jewel Thief..... but then we're not noble. Oh and of course Mr Steele was an adventurer, what else would a globe trotting con man and thief be? I don't think of t as having anegative connotation, unlike in a 19th century novel when someone is disparagingly calling some poor little marriage minded gold digger an aventuress. ;D Oh and I thought "Corporate Raider- Amateur Art Thief" might be at say 750 or 1000 posts. Then again at 1,000 posts one should be able to choose their own nickname and that's I believe possible. Ace
