Today on my way to work I drove by Tower Records. It was 9:28 a.m. and the crowd around the store rivaled those LOTR fans who wanted to see the first showing (which was one minute after midnight on the first day, I believe.) My guess is it's some new release that's out today, CD or DVD. Does anyone know what's so popular these days?

DVD releases happen on Tues usually. I have no idea what new CD might be out. Maybe there was a signing going on.

Could be; somebody at work said CD releases usually came out on Tuesday as well.

The Tuesday thing is true here for both. Not sure when that started, but I assume it's to promote middle-of-the-week shopping. Still, bit of a nuisance when you want to get out earlier to make sure you can get something that's on sale before it disappears. cg

Oh my, suppose I should know, but I don't. Over here they are actually camping outside stores/cinemas/whatever for Harry Potter books, Madonna tickets and LOTR movies. It hasn't anything to do with Cher's goodbye tour, has it?

I don't think they sell books or tickets.
