I guess I could have put this in RS or even Pierce Ephemera but the connection might be pushing it.
Bras that lure buyers with ... no hooks!

Could shopping for bras -- the size-finding and disrobing, the strap-adjusting and hooking, the bosom-shifting and arm-raising -- be any more agonizing? Designer Amanda Kennedy doesn't think so.
"I'd rather look at myself under a naked light bulb in an interrogation room than in the mirror of a dressing room."
The experience is made worse by the brassieres themselves, she says. "Bra styles are driven by fashion rather than comfort and fit. Victoria's Secret has managed to narrow the definition of 'What is sexy?' to women in instruments of torture."
Kennedy, a former Texas beauty queen, Hollywood actress and model, grew so impatient with her undergarment options that she designed her own line. Sassybax bras are seamless, wireless and hookless, meant to smooth down the bumps and bulges caused by so many brassieres.
Available at sassybax.com, specialty boutiques and the Neiman Marcus stores in Bal Harbour and Coral Gables, the bras come in seven colors, and prices begin at $58 for the basic Bralette.
We asked Kennedy about her décolletage designs and about her TV days, when she was known as Barbara Horan and made guest appearances on numerous '80s TV shows, including a recurring role on BJ & the Bear.
Question: Why is the world awaiting another brassiere?
Answer: I needed a bra that wouldn't make my back look like road kill. You know... the old tire track back? Bras just weren't keeping up with all the tight fashions, and I hated the way I looked from the back.
Q: Which is worse -- Visible Bra Lines or Visible Panty Lines?
A: Well, I think they are both awful, but if I had to choose one to correct, I'd choose Visible Bra Lines, because you can go without panties to eliminate panty lines, but you can't go without a bra if you have a bust over a B cup. And panty lines are sexy to some guys. Bra lines aren't.
Q: What was the biggest challenge of creating Sassybax?
A: Finding a manufacturer to believe in me. I was nobody in the intimate-apparel industry, which is a $23 billion industry. They couldn't figure out why I thought I could design, market and sell a product. I said, "Well, I designed myself as a model, actress and beauty queen. If that's not marketing and sales, I don't know what is."
Q: Sassybax covers more skin than most bras. Doesn't it grow warm under so much fabric?
A: Sassybax is knit from moisture-wicking nylon and stretch Lycra. When you are hot, it doesn't cause heat rash like some bras can do. It takes the moisture and heat, and lets it evaporate from the outside of the garment. Now, there may be cooler bras, but they offer no support, because they are mesh triangles on dental floss.
Q: Which styles are the most popular?
A: The Bralette, because it seems to fit almost everyone.... The Torso Trimming Cami is for women who want that added feature, and not all women need that. I do have some customers who are wearing that one as a top with their Juicy Couture sweats or jeans, and it looks adorable.
Q: What are your future plans for Sassybax?
A: I have a patented technology to make women with smaller breasts able to add a cup size without any added weight. And it feels like real breast material -- none of that padded, molded, rubbery android stuff. I'm working on incorporating that into the Sassybax. From Sassybax to Sassyoomph!
Q: Enough about boobs! Let's talk about the boob tube. Best BJ & the Bear war story?
A: One of the other actresses on the show hated my guts, because I was thinner. She begged the cameraman to make me look fat. He said, "Sorry... that would be impossible!" She was so angry, she told me the entire story and asked me if I had slept with him. I said, "I'll forgive you for asking that if you'll forgive me for not answering." Negative energy like that needs to be met with a shield of armor so you don't get sullied by it. She never tried to start with me again.
Q: Your acting résumé reads like a What's What of '80s TV Shows. Word association time! The Dukes of Hazzard?
A: Hazzardous.
Q: Mr. Rourke and Tattoo?
A: The plane, the plane!
Q: Cheers?
A: A privilege to work on.
Q: Pierce Brosnan?
A: How do you spell vision?
Q: Erik Estrada?
A: The most fun I've had without laughing (until my husband). (Translation: She dated the CHiPs star and apparently doesn't regret a moment of her time with Ponch.)
