Jessica Simpson to be next Bond girl azcentral.com July 6, 2004 When Cathy or Britney can't commit, enter Jessica Simpson. TeenHollywood.com reports that the reality starlet has been approached to be the next Bond girl. With the success of MTV's Newlyweds, the purportedly simple Simpson is on the verge of overexposure, shilling product for everyone from Pizza Hut to Hershey's, and hey, her dying music career has been reborn too. So, it just makes sense that she'd make the leap to film before the public loses interest. The site reports that Jess is producers' third choice, behind Catherine Zeta Jones and Britney Spears. Simpson has reportedly been approached to star as the love interest in what will most likely be Pierce Brosnan's final Bond flick. "They really want Catherine Zeta Jones but it doesn't look like she's going to be available," says a source, who also claims that Britney Spears had been top of the wish list. No word yet on whether or not Jess can act, but who cares? --------------------------------------- Jessica Simpson? Maybe Pierce shouldn't do one more bond! Of course, they're also claiming Britney was second choice migs

Oh please.... I can see that direct progression of thought. We can't get Catherine Zeta Jones, Oscar wining actress with a pay day of about $10-15m (which they'd NEVER pay for a leading lady) so The bubble head with no acting experience who doesn't know Chicken of the Sea is Tuna is who we want. ;D ;D
Just chalk it up to agents trying to get their clients free publiicty. Type in James Bond into news and you'll also find that Hugh Jackman after yet another poll will be the next Bond because he's the "people's choice" with a whopping 24% over Orlando Bloom at 21%. Last week's "winner" with a piddling % was Colin Firth and the month before him Bloom and the month before him Fiennes. You'll also see Clive Owen with a new movie out (getting panned) telling everyone he's never been asked about being Bond, as well as some actor I've barely heard of doing the same for another project.
Look, there's no finished shooting script, there's no director... hell there's no leading man signed yet, so there's definitely no other casting taking place. On DAD they didn't hire any main cast aside from Pierce until Nov/Dec of 2002, just weeks before shooting. And Madonna wasn't hired for the song until March 2003, 3 months after filming begun.
So yeah all these rumors are just a load of poo.

Well, if Pierce is going to still play Bond, I'd be the next Bond girl for free. They wouldn't have to pay me a penny - nor would they have to give me credit. I would just be Bond's mystery girl! Or maybe just Bond's out-of-shape old hag. Whatever. Point is, I'd do it for nothing and save them big bucks. Of course, once it got into theatres, the audiences might walk out the minute I appear onscreen in my itty bitty teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini. ;D AND they'd be demanding their money back.
