I know this is hard but I was wondering- if you had to choose the best RS episode you've ever watched, which episode would it be? I am planning on re watching the series and I really want to start off with some of the best episodes but I am not sure which ones to watch first. I know this task is simply near impossible so if it makes it easier just list your favorite episode for all of the seasons. For instance: Season 1- Vintage Steele, Season 2- Red Holt Steele and so on I am really curious about what everyone will put!

Definitely a difficult question. For me, my all time favorite ep is Vintage Steele. It has comedy, romance, and mystery all in a good balance, IMO. Red Holt Steele is up there, as well. For me, I can find something to like in just about every episode. Some of my favorites by season ...
Season 1 - Licence, Thou Shalt Not, Hearts, Vintage, Circulation Season 2 - Steele Away, Red Holt, Love Among, Threads, Sweet on You Season 3 - Steele Your Heart Away, Have I Got a Steele for You, Chips (yes, I like this one for the pure physical comedy of it), Trying Season 4 - Blushing, Grappling, Forged, Premium, Dancer, Sensitive, Beg Season 5 - Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm ....

Thank you for the response! I can't wait to re watch some of these episodes! (My sentiments exactly with Season 5! Although I really love Steph's hair in Season 5)

I actually love season 5 because I am a romantic at heart. I love the it when they are working together not apart. I have to say, Season 5 is growing on me. I think everyone honestly hates it because of Tony. I cannot stand him. But another part of me disliking it was because I felt like Steph and Pierce's hearts weren't in it. Re-watching it now, despite of what everyone else thinks, I think they both were into it, even Pierce even though his interviews seem to say otherwise. You watch their body language, and you see that they still have that connection, dare I say love between them. I love the Mr and Ms Steele thing they have going on (minus Tony). So needless to say, I am a romantic at heart too.

I agree, they felt so in tune. So passionate. My heart aches for these 2. I totally agree with you on your feelings.

Hello everyone! "Room for one more?" (Let's Steele a Plot tag scene, Remington Steele, Season 3, 1985) Like one of you mentioned somewhere earlier, I've read and enjoyed Steele of the Week and wished I could have participated, so I am excited to talk Holt-Steele here! I first fell in love with Remington Steele when I was about 12 years old. If memory serves, I remember the girls at school talking about it and must've started watching it in Season 2, which was so romantic and dramatic and left a tremendous impression on me. Fast forward a few years and I remember RS airing on A & E's Daytime Mystery Theater ( remember the dancing "cut-out letters à la ransom note" title screen?). I was really excited about PB becoming the next Bond, which was cool, but nowhere near as charming as the character of RS. Then about a year and a half ago, I watched Mamma Mia, and, believe it or not, Pierce Brosnan's rendition of SOS inspired me to look for Remington Steele on iTunes which I discovered has the first 2 seasons. I decided to give it a try. I figured it was going to feel really dated and cheesy, so I only purchased Licence to Steele to give it a try(an episode that I had never seen before) but I was blown away by how witty, charming and romantic the whole thing is! It's quite simply the best show ever made and has aged really well! Needless to say, I purchased the first 2 seasons from iTunes(and requested that they complete the series), and I now also own all the DVDs. After the first viewing of the whole series, I felt that Season 1 was the best, in a lot ways, but probably due mostly to the fact that the relationship between RS and LH develops naturally from episode to episode at a pleasing pace, whereas in the rest of the seasons, they had to come up with all kinds of hang-ups, issues and neuroses(mostly for Laura) to keep the two from consummating the relationship, which is just sad and frustrating. However upon further viewings of all the seasons, I like the later seasons more and more, including season 5. I still have a problem with the non-consummation of the relationship dragging out for 5 years, (perhaps longer or even in perpetuity for all we know) which is beyond ridiculous, but that's why fan-fiction is such a wonderful thing! I like to imagine that many elements and circumstances from the later seasons would have fit into that first couple of years to allow for sooner resolution and togetherness! Ha! Anyways, it's going to be really hard to narrow down favourite episodes because there are so many and every episode has at least one thing that I like about it, usually involving the wonderful chemistry between SZ and PB. My least favourite episodes are Springtime and Blue Yonder. I still like them though, but I sometimes skip them. My most favourites by season are: S. 1. Licence(perfection), Tempered, Steeling the Show, Sting of Steele S. 2. Scene Steelers, Steele Knuckles, Steele High Flying, Woman of Steele S. 3. Let's Steele a Plot, Gourmet Steele, Have I got a Steele, Diced Steele, Now you Steele it S. 4. Steele Searching, Grappling Steele, Premium Steele, Dancer,.., Steele in the Spotlight, Steele in the Running, Bonds of Steele(I know a lot of people hate this episode, but it is actually very clever. I've been intrigued with it lately. It has inspired me to re-visit the Shakespearean play The Taming of the Shrew, which I think may have inspired the writers. Just a guess. My only criticism of this episode is that Laura truly seemed upset about it, when, to my way thinking, she should have been secretly happy about shacking up with that gorgeous beautiful man who, after all stuck around for 4 years. I think what I love about all of Remington Steele is that no matter what kind of trials they go through, they always end up going to bat for each other. Against all odds, which are tremendous! Anyways, thanks for letting me crash this party! I know it's months since this started, but what the hey! Happy Steele watching!

It's always great to have another Steele fan on the Forum! The show really has held up wonderfully over the years. I've been a fan since it originally aired back in 1982. I remember finding the Steele of the Week when I rediscovered the show years ago. I didn't get to participate in it either, but I would watch an ep and then read all the comments. Thanx for sharing your thoughts! I hope you continue to do so.

Welcome to the discussion. I to just joined recently and so much in love with the fans. I watched this when it first aired and of course was in love with Pierce and in awe of Stephanie.
Just started watching it again when it came on MeTV2 and it was obsession all over again. I can't believe how much I missed in the original airing. It's a shame because I was a fan but I was only 11 at the time. I had to watch it with sound down to 2 and kept shutting it off because it was past my curfew.
Later I realized that I patterned my life after Stephanie/Laura. Never let the fact I was a woman ever slow me down or stop me from what I wanted. Now meeting all these incredible fans I find we have a common thread. Intelligent, successful, not afraid of taking risks or never letting the impossible stop us.
I thank Laura and Remington for letting me see that it is ok to be driven and unsure at the same time.
I can't say that I have a favorite episode because every time I chose on i blind another that takes it's place.

Haha! That's funny what you said about keeping the volume at 2 because it was past curfew. Diehard fan in the making! And yeah, after I posted my list of favourite episodes, I thought so many more that should have made the list! Anyways, thanks for the welcome!
