Love the movie The Fugitive, just got the DVD today and watched it tonight. Hadn't seen it for a while, but every time I watch it I think, "darn, that red-headed doctor looks familiar." Tonight I finally paid attention to the credits. Raise your hand if you feel stupid. :: raises hand :: cg

Sorry to disapoint you, but every time I think about JM, I think "It's that red-headed doctor from The Fugivite. Somehow, it's the first really memorable movie I saw with her.

No you're not, but I didn't do it for that film. I've always known that was Julianne. Oh and topic moved, it's a film but it's not a PB film. Ace

No you're not, but I didn't do it for that film. I've always known that was Julianne. I always find it fun (which tells you how pathetic my life is ) to go back and watch a film that's a decade or two old and say, "hey, look who was in this that we didn't know was 'anybody' at the time." Not to imply that JM is nobody, but I think you know what I mean. No problem, I wasn't quite sure where it belonged. It didn't seem totally "off topic" to me. Would it have stayed there had LOA still been a hot topic? Just "curious." cg

Only if it was in the LOA topic. Hmmm, what was I watching recently where I said... oooh look! OK, not recent, but was suprised when I watched it a couple of years ago after not seeing it for several years that Liam Neeson and Gabriel Byrne are both in John Boorman's Excalibur, I think the first film for each. (and one PB got turned down for!) Yuliya, do you mean to tell us you saw PB and he made no impact! For shame! Ace

Only if it was in the LOA topic. Oops. Guess I didn't narrow it down enough. cg

Yuliya, do you mean to tell us you saw PB and he made no impact! For shame! What do you mean - no impact? Of course, he had, can't you see it? He made a tremendous impact, but as I was only 12 years old, the impact was slightly latent.

Yeah; and who did you have a crush on when you were 12? It's almost on topic for this thread - a couple of weeks ago my husband and I were watching TOP, and when they showed a plane with Copa Airlines written on it, my husband (who's in e-travel business) matter-of-factly said, "They're not our clients yet..." We laughed and forgot about it. About a week ago we were watching DAD and in the hospital scene I (having spent quite some time window-shopping (literally)) just as matter-of-factly said, "I wonder how much that glass wall costs."

;D And I first thought CG was going to ask us which JM movies we'd seen.

CG, evidently you'r enot the only one who does that. I've been watching the 4th Indiana Jones DVD, the one with the extras, and as Alberto Molina started talking about his experience with trained tarantulas on his back, I said, "Oh, that was he!" I have a feeling I know that was him, though, but forgot about it. I even have a feeling it wasn't the first time I was surprised to find it out, though now I'll probably remember.

That's Alfred Molina. He was marvelous in Spiderman 2 which I just saw and liked so so so much more than the first. Ace

Alfred, right, thank you. I don't know what made me type Alberto.
I haven't seen the Spiderman movies, but I've seen him in Maverick and Chocolat.

I got Spiderman from the library once and didn't have time to watch it. I think I'm almost due to get it again (you have to put it on hold and wait your turn). I've heard how good 2 is, but I thought I should see the original first.

The first one was a good movie, I just thought it was overrated and overhyped. It wasn't nearly as good as say the first Superman.
The second one improves on it so much because it does away with all the exposition, the young leads are better, the direction and tone is also more daring and quirky and fun while also managing to be darker and more mature.
I also didn't see the first one on the big screen and maybe it loses something on TV, epscially when he 's swinging from buildings in NYC.

Oh, Alfred Molina is great! I liked him in Chocolat and Frida. That he plays the villain in Spiderman 2 sort of gives the movie a plus in my view.

Oh CG, warning if you're taking the kidlet to see the film and she's squeamish. There's a scene in Spiderman 2, in the hospital room that really deserved an R... but hey it's America where you can saw someone in half and still get a PG-13, just don't show a nipple . Ace

Hmmmm...she may have already seen it...I'll have to check. But thanks for the warning. She talks about being a doctor or a nurse, though, and doesn't get as grossed out by some things as much as I do (or she hides it well ). Then again, it depends on if you're talking "normal" medical gross or deliberately gross. She isn't without a threshold for that. Ah - she has seen it; says that yes, there was a pretty gross scene in it; but the rest of the movie was really good. Sounds like it did bother her some. cg
