Why oh why oh why!!!!?! The bloopers are gone on the Zimbalist site because, God forbid, it goes up on Youtube! Honestly! Who cares?! So you keep it, no one gets to see it and people have an even greater reason to forget you. There's NOTHING on Stephanie on youtube except for one very boring interview with Johnny Carson and an amusing tid bit with David Letterman. That's it. Nothing. And now, NO BLOOPERS!
I swear. These people are hell bent on erasing RS from our memories.

That's not the case dear. The bloopers and videos were removed from both Stephanie's website and YouTube because two people took it upon themselves to illegally lift them from Stephanie's site. I've made it perfectly clear from day one that those bloopers were exclusive to that site and were absolutely NOT for display anywhere else. I never said they weren't going back up. I said they'd be back in place when there was a new security code put on the site. Contrary to popular belief that and the other videos are NOT public domain. The bloopers are on a tape sitting in Stephanie's private home video collection that she was nice enough to let be put on display on her site. If you want to raise hell with me for protecting material that's on a site that I've spent thousands of hours building and adding to for the sake of fans, I'd suggest you try sending me an e-mail or a private message instead of posting your complaint in the middle of a public forum. Or better still, why don't you try answering Stephanie's question when she asked me to explain why people would find it necessary to steal material from her website when it was sitting there for them to view the entire time. I haven't come up with a reason that justifies it, so if you're so bent out of shape about me removing material from a site that I built, come up with a reason that does.

Oh wow. Had nnooooo idea. Sorry! I'm new to this and didn't know you were involved. Don't know anyone here yet. Was not trying to raise hell with anyone on this website. Just a fan wishing Stephanie was around a little more with a little more acces: Youtube. And wishing I could see the bloopers. Sniff.

PUBLIC APOLOGY!!!!!
To everyone who is reading this stupid post I put up -- I had NOOO idea that anyone on this site was connected to the video footage. I was just wondering if anyone else was frustrated. Now I see just how far I've inserted my foot and I do intend to swallow it!! A thousand apologies to Judith and to anyone else I may have offended by being an absolute idiot.
It was not meant to be mean-spirited and if I knew how to take this post down, I would.
Totally and completely embarrassed.

Elizabeth, don't worry - these things happen and it was obvious to me it was a post from a frustrated fan. As for removing posts, they can be deleted or edited by the poster using the tabs in the upper right hand corner of each post. As admin I don't delete myself unless it spam, trolling or clearly offensive. As for video footage and the net, I think almost every video I have up on my site is up somewhere else or on Youtube (including the SZ Letterman and Carson vids). I know people put things on Youtube b/c they want to share things with a larger audience, the same videos I get hundreds of hits on on my site get thousands on Youtube. I don't think it's malicious. In a way I find it flattering and it's nice more people see them. As long as those posters don't claim they made the vids themselves I'm pretty fine with it, though credit is always nice. And welcome to the board.

Oh my goodness! Thank you Ace!! I've been agonizing over this. I finally found my fellow RS fans -- my family makes so much fun of me because of how much I love and analyze the show -- and in the first two days I manage to really screw it all up!!
I agree with you about Youtube being flattering -- you get a thousand hits, it means people really want to see what it is you are showcasing. Stephanie has so many fans who love her and the show, it would be so popular.
Thanks for the support!

True though the case is different when you own the original content. Sure I captured and uploaded those SZ interviews but Carson, Letterman, NBC, CBS etc own the original content -- which is the main reason I don't post them originally to Youtube in the first place. Youtube is a commercial site that makes money off it's content through user hits, my site doesn't. That's also why vids get pulled all the time on Youtube by copyright holders and companies. FOX purged most all the music videos months ago even if in the end they were actually free publicity for their DVDs. No need to agonize. New RS fans are always welcome. We're like a cult and often our families just don't understand. Have you found Steelewatchers on Yahoo groups? It's much more active when it comes to all things Steele and the actors. Ditto the IMDB Steele board though it's slower right now. groups.yahoo.com/group/SteeleWatchersimdb.com/title/tt0083470/board/threads/

Thanks! That was you who uploaded those interviews with Stephanie??? Thank you so much for doing that! Sooo much appreciated! I loved the David Letterman one. That was absolutely hilarious about her "fans". Wouldn't you know that those would be the guys writing to you regularly. I especially liked the guy with the glasses and in the suit. I wish, wish, wish there were more early interviews with her and I'm kind of surprised there are not considering what a big show it was at the time. I'll check out Steelewatchers!! Thanks!

For the record, I'm sorry my reaction to your original post was as biting as it was. I read it at midnight after a very long day with Michael Gleason and then dinner with Stephanie, and after spending days trying to come up with a solution to the security issue with the site only to be beating my head into a wall, I read your message and took a dive off the deep end.
Stephanie is definitely not trying to get people to forget about her or the series. I'm just trying to find a way to protect the material that she asked me to make sure couldn't be copied actually can't be copied. This incident with YouTube came at completely the wrong time because I have two new items that people have wanted to see for quite some time but I can't put it out if it's going to be illegally taken and distributed without anyone's consent.

Sign up for the forum on Stephanie's website and you'll find out how you can spend an entire weekend with her. We've got a huge charity project taking place in June and she'll be participating in it.

Sorry to be a bit late, but I was wondering if there's a chance to get those videos. I have read so many good things about them, and they're not available anymore on Stephanie's site. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Yes, I would love to see those clips, too! I love RS ever I first saw it as a kid on german TV in the mid 80ies, I rewachted it as a teen in the 90ies and it's still my favourite TV series today! Pierce and Stephanie were so brilliant and the series is so timeless - it's still gaining new fans today! Any chance to make the bloopers available again for the die hard fans? PLZZZ
