There are three clips from Manions up at YouTube. I don't know how much Pierce is in them as I haven't downloaded any yet. It looks like the third at least is from a lovely scene of Rory and Rachel together.

I've made some clips from Manions-- basically all of Rory and Rachel (Pierce and Kate) in divx form (most under 20mb even if I had to resize them) and will post them if there's even a modicum of interest. Let me know.
"But 'The Manions of America' was my ticket to America and the performance had a rawness and an energy to it that I haven't had onscreen since then, irony of ironies, which I'd like to get back to."
-- Pierce Brosnan, Venice Magazine 1999

That's all I wanted-- one peep. I wasn't sure how many people already had the VHS or were interested. They're VHS quality but still pretty good (though this mini series is dying for a re-mastered cleaned up DVD). Here goes the first three in order of appearance (Pierce and Kate in all their young high spirted animal -- rather soapy very romantic and sexy awesomeness) Manions of America: First Meeting (8.07MB) www.sendspace.com/file/3xrfytManions of America: Stables (14.27MB) www.sendspace.com/file/f8b70rManions of America: Field Kiss (16.51MB) www.sendspace.com/file/5fm71fAs with all sendspace files they stay up a week after the last time they're downloaded.

Ohhh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I have it on tape, but it's off German television, so a lot is "lost in translation".

Maybe he got inspired by the threat of the crop. The more I think about that, the kinkier it sounds... What I love is the way he hushes her -- the way one talks to a wild horse to calm them down. Makes it funnier when David refers to high spirited animals and he's probably referring to Rory as well as her horse-- but as we've seen that pretty much describes Rachel as well.

Rory O'Manion -- the horse whisperer and the babe whisperer, LOL! I think we should all lobby the SMA to do a TV show called "The Babe Whisperer." Imagine him kicking back in his swinging pad and putting on some Barry White, LOL! If he wants a little friendly competition he can invite Richard Lawson (Monroe) over for a guest shot. Of course, the SMA would have to send Keely off for the duration to an ashram somewhere where there was no access to television.

Reminds of the anedote from Seraphim Falls when the director was talking about how Pierce was calming that horse laying on it's side and a reporter asked Pierce "Are you a horse whisper" to which he responded -- "I'm Irish" -- which I guess is supposed to explain it all!

I'm all for this TV show. Some producer must have a bit of common sense and realise it! I'll pay for the ashram. ;D As to Rory O'Manion and "rather soapy very romantic and sexy awesomeness", who could ever forget the lines exchanged between him and Rachel: "You're a good liar, me darlin'." "You've no right to call me that!" "Well, I'll just have to think it."

Good I'm glad they weren't too big and you're able to download them. I was afraid it would be too much and you'd get backlogged. I have 6 maybe 7 more to post -- just spreading them out a bit as to not overwhelm those on dial-up. What's the text you're using in your new Rory icon?.

As opposed to the LNG clip, I could instantly download each of them without a problem. I didn't get disconnected either. So, they were being really good downloads. I used two lines from a Sarah McLachlan song I like very much: Trainwreck. (the kiss part; yes, I'm sappy )

I really wish they would bring this one out on DVD. Between the Pierce Brosnan fans and the Kate Mulgrew fans I think they would have a pretty large market. I bought this on VHS long ago and wore it out. Then WEtv broadcast the series in three parts and I taped them and that is about worn out.
Thanks so much for the clips. I am enjoying them.
