Daniel Radcliffe reacts to watching his first pre-Harry Potter movie role again: 'It's crazy to see that!'
Daniel Radcliffe‘s career has spanned bizarre indie movies, a Broadway musical, one of the biggest franchises in history, and now the TBS comedy Miracle Workers. But the latest episode of PeopleTV’s Couch Surfing takes him all the way back to the beginning — his very first big-screen role, in 2001’s The Tailor of Panama.
“Oh my god!” Radcliffe exclaims upon seeing the clip, before quipping, “Put that kid in a franchise!”
Radcliffe, who was just nine years old at the time of filming, would, of course, be cast as Harry Potter shortly after. But he was already brushing shoulders (so to speak) with A-list actors on the Panama set, playing the son of Geoffrey Rush and Jamie Lee Curtis’ characters. “Pretty good for my first set of onscreen parents,” he says.
The film also starred then-James Bond Pierce Brosnan, who Radcliffe remembers asking to “sign photos for [his] entire class of people.” “And he did! He was so nice,” Radcliffe adds.
