Pierce is going to receive a special Golden Camera award, the "Green Camera", a newly created award for achievements in environmental protection. Translation of a press release: On a Mission to save the World's OceansA special Golden Camera Award goes to Pierce Brosnan Parallel to his successful careers as an actor in international blockbusters such as the four James Bond films, "Around the World in 80 Days" or "Dante's Peak", as well as a producer in his own company "Irish DreamTime", Pierce Brosnan has worked with charity organisations such as UNICEF; but most of all he has given his name and support to various environmental organisations. (Award show will air on February 1, 2007) It is with great personal commitment that Mr Brosnan fights for the conservation of the oceans and the coastal wetlands, supporting among others the Natural Resources Defense Council. He also campaigns against air and water pollution. He sees in his world fame a natural responsibility not only to act as a role model in public life, but also to put himself and his name behind a good cause. Committed activist Pierce Brosnan has become a comitted activist in international environmentalism--not least to secure for his children's future a safe and life-friendly environment. His wife Keely Shaye, who he met during an environmental event in Mexico City [sic], continues to help him realise the various projects and campaigns.

Ohhh, Ace, these photos are gorgeous! I have also saved a few (which will follow), and also found some articles (in German though, so they'll need some translating. ) He was just wonderful. He said that he had to take a breath when he read the list of who had already received a Golden Camera. You could tell by his speech that he was very honoured by this award and he said that this night was an unforgettable expericence for him.

I got most of my pics at goldenekamera.de. They don't watermark, bless them. I got one still of him in the video, but at least I could hear what he said.

I'm not sparkling blue but did my best to help out: I owe the golden camera to my wifePierce Brosnan about love and children, happiness and Berlin Adlon-Suite (6. Stock) above Brandenburger Tor. A black silhouette against the windy window. Black shirt, black custom-made suit, teeth like shining ivory. Pierce Brosnan (53) is humming the German anthem. “What a city! What a fate…!” Angular face, firm hand, soft, fragile, crackling voice. Today the sexiest 007 ever gets the Golden Camera of “Hörzu” from his former neighbour Thomas Gottschalk (56) for his movie- and environvent commitment. (20.15 Uhr, ZDF, live). He is a movie legend, a dream of women who makes men weak. BILD: How green is your heart?“ I miss my wife Keely, the other half of my being (42). She tought me to love my environment again. I’m a boy from the Irish countryside living on one of Hawaii’s islands.” He is against the war in Iraq, Bush, global warming. He’s for nature, whales, humanity, a black or female president. Did you watch the new Bond? The father of 5 stood in front of the cinema: „Casino Royale“ or „Happy Feet“: My children made the decision …. But I think Daniel Craig (38) is a great Bond!” Your philosophy?„Make people happy. Dalai Lama says: My religion is love.“ Values for the children? „Humanity, self confidence, curiosity toward the unknown.“ His voice is getting slower, his thoughts deeper, more serious: “When I turned 50 it was like a wake-up call. How much time do I have left? How many dreams? Which aims? I was a poor boy who became rich by working hard. I’m happy with my life.”

Link to a short video from ZDF: www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/inhalt/23/0,4070,4342903-0,00.html (You may need to click on the orange "Start" button to watch.) *** I'll be more than happy to translate any articles that come up. I just didn't get round to doing them over the weekend, but I want to start Monday. I on the other hand also have a favour to ask: As I can't view the streaming clips on my connection, I wonder whether there is any other way I can safe them, as they don't safe with Mozilla Downloader.
