I see you subscribe to the no-contacts theory. Fair enough. I guess I just like the idea that he wears contacts like I do. Ah. I like the idea he can't wear contacts like I can't.

Perhaps the SMA has a minor fixation on the subject viz. the famous sunglasses digression in the commentary of Die Another Day. He does seem to have a fondness for wearing them indoors when he's packing a really big gun, i.e. doing his hit man thang (The Matador, Steele of Approval). At least in The Matador, playing a real pro, he takes them off to aim, LOL
Speaking of digressions, I wonder if Laura might have felt differently about Steele during that fraught conversation in Approval had he confessed everything he'd done for her. 'Course, in my book, she should have known Westfield was wrong for her when he didn't lift her hair when he bundled her in his jacket. But I also say, thank heaven that they kept that gesture inimicably Steele's.
Back to topic, if Laura had known that Steele posed as the insurance Nerds-R-Us version of Norman Keyes to track down her hit-and-run car, things might have have turned out less badly, or maybe not, LOL!
LH: Maybe it'll give us time to think about how we really feel towards each other --
RS: [leaps to his feet] Laura, to go about saving your hide, I posed as Norman Keyes, carried a clipboard, and wore a suit of baby blue plasticine! If that isn't undying devotion, what is?
LH: You did that? For me? [there's a sudden lump in her throat]
RS: Yes, and if my reputation survives it, it was worth it.
LH: [doubt creeps in] You sure you didn't do it just to make Keyes look bad.
RS: A mere afterthought. The man's sartorial standing could hardly be any lower. Skid row bums have more elan. And generally, a better class of cigar.
Odd how the hit-and-run vehicles of choice in RS seem to be Fords (Steele of Approval, Premium Steele). I'm reminded of an ancient Mad Magazine spoof of Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.'s old series, "The F.B.I." Aim was taken at the all-too-obvious Ford product placement in the show(all the agents driving Ford cruisers, etc.) The joke went 'round that Zimbalist's character Lew Erskine was getting an Indian sidekick named "Thunderbird."
So, maybe it's a family tradition, LOL!

Funny thing is with all the product placement in those films the most frequently asked question about any of the products are PB's own sunglasses. *snort* That outfit says it all but Laura was undeserving -- just thinking of running off with that non hairlifting bland snoozefest. Feh. Ace

Ace I was always fond of the look of this particular pair. I have a magazine clipping from 2000 or 2001 in which he already wears them. (Must remember to put a scanner on my X-mas list. But I digress... )

I just thought I'd let everyone know that Pierce is on the cover of the Oct/Nov 2005 edition of GRAND magazine. I can't seem to figure out how to attach scans to this post, but the magazine has a web site you can look at. It hasn't been updated yet, but I imagine if you check back later, they will have the Oct/Nov edition up soon. Here is the link: www.grandmagonline.com/

You can click the little icon of the painting to get the tag or just type: (img)http://www.image.jpg (/img) but with [] instead of () Hope that helps. Ace

Pierce has an interview/article in the Nov issue of Preimere Magazine. I haven't seen the new issue yet so can't report back on quality of pics or interview. I assume The Matador will be the main focus even if the headline appears to be "Still Shaken Over Bond". The pic of the cover from Ebay.

I think they left out the little word "above". More than above. I know they're trying to get across the point that most gradparents now aren't blue haired and with walkers but puhlease, he wasn't average before he was a grandparent so why shoud becoming one make him average. Ace

Thanks for the scans and the offer I'm chuckling over the sidebar on the other "Grand" Bonds. They're stretching it a bit with Dalton aren't they? He's not a grandparent but once dated women who became grandparents. ;D Ace

Oops, I forgot that I set my Personal Page up so people can't direct link to my site. Since you were able to view the pages Ace, can you save the scans and upload them to your web space for me?

My host isn't allowing uploads right now so I changed your original post into links until I can. Until then people can view the images by cutting and pasting the URLs into their address bar and not just clicking them on.

The interview along with the scans from the Premiere Nov 2005 article "License to Chill" is now up at Pierce Brosnan Files: InterviewsThis interview and the photos look to have been done and taken around July 2005 -- before the recent EW interview since this is right before he left for Hawaii. It's too bad Premiere is releasing this in November but magazines are put together so far in advance it looks like it was set before the change in date to December (as evidenced by the November opening date listed next to the review inside the same mag) for Matador's opening. Even if they knew they might not have been able to move around a large interview like this, they need to fill pages. Thanks to respectanimals for sending me scans of Premiere. It gave me more timeand made it easier to scan in the text -- and made me buy a copy quicker
