It's not a photo it's a drawing, and I believe they're the same age or just a few months apart. Now run out and go rent or buy Nobel House on crappy blurry VHS! (I got mine for $5) It's brilliant and from the time mini-series was king, it's one of the best. With Clavell's Shogun out on DVD recently I have high hopes for Noble House... or maybe just prayers.
Anyhow forget Raffin, the main relationship is more the business rivalry between PB and John Rhyes Davies, and it's marvelous.

That's why I went with the word "image," although it obviously didn't get across what I meant, because of course it's not a photo. Didn't seem like the word I wanted at the time but it was the only one that presented itself.
:: makes note to beg, borrow, or...get Noble House from the library ::
the last time it was on ebay the buyer payed over 50€=50$ I hope now I have the chance to get it without loosing all my money...
The problem is it isn't an official remastered DVD since NBC has stated the print needs to be extensively restored, like Shogun, and it hasn't ben yet. So basically it's the current horrid VHS quality slapped onto a DVD. Bah.

thanks for the info ace, i didn´t know that I have Noble house on vhs, uncut and in english, so I think wont waste my money
You're really lucky! I taped it off TV (ZDF, Christmas 1999, or so ). But at least I have it. And it is really good. (Though I could never understand how Casey could reject Ian at their dinner on the boat. )

did you read the book? It´s really good and the story is slightly different. Ian is married and has children...no love affair with casey but it´s worth reading
Yes, I did, a few years ago. It's very interesting and suspenseful. You get a very good insight into big business, and also into the Chinese culture and the history of Hongkong. I'm planning to read it again, actually. Yes, there's no love affair between Casey and Ian, but she's comtemplating it.
