Btw, do you know anybody who likes pictures of themselves? I don't. I always think that I look horrible. I think Miss Hold could name at least one person.

Warning to those with diabetes: the following article might cause insulin shock with an envy chaser... ;D (Oh the couple of inaccuracies about his next Bond film and I believe Keely's age... well it *is* the British press ) Evening StandardBirthday Bond By Anne Barlow 6 October 2003 As suave, smooth-talking James Bond, he knows how to impress the ladies. So perhaps it’s no surprise Pierce Brosnan celebrated his wife’s birthday in a way 007 would have been proud of. The actor arranged to meet his real-life Bond girl, Keely Shaye Smith, on a pier in Malibu, California, before whisking her off in a huge yacht for a two-day cruise to mark her 39th birthday. And there were more surprises in store for the lucky birthday girl. Brosnan showered her with gifts — including a £50,000 soft-top BMW and diamond-studded jewellery. Shaye Smith, a writer and actress, was dropped off at the pier with the couple’s two children, Dylan, six, and Paris, two. She and Brosnan passionately embraced before the family got into a small speedboat that took them to the yacht moored off the coast. “Pierce seemed very excited,” an onlooker said. “He had it all planned out. You could see the yacht in the bay offshore. It looked big and expensive and I’m sure it set him back a bit.” Brosnan had hired a gourmet chef to serve up his wife’s favourite dishes on the yacht, and stocked up on champagne. “Pierce wanted to make sure he did everything he could to give Keely the time of her life,” a source added. “Knowing what a devoted mum Keely is to Dylan and Paris, and knowing she wouldn’t be happy leaving them behind, he made arrangements to bring them and their nanny along.” Brosnan, 50 — whose next Bond role is in Everything Or Nothing, to be released next year — married Shaye Smith just over two years ago in a lavish ceremony at Ashford Castle in Ireland. The couple were forced to postpone their wedding twice — first because Sean, his son by his late first wife Cassandra Harris, was involved in a near-fatal car crash in 1999, and again when Shaye Smith became pregnant in 2000. A friend of the couple said: “Pierce wanted to do something really special for Keely’s 39th. He has already showered her with just about every gift possible so, in an effort to come up with something new, he chartered a yacht. “Keely still can’t believe her good fortune and even though there was a time when she wondered if they would ever marry, she now thanks God for each and every day she spends with the man she calls Prince Charming.”

And what about those unlucky ones who don't have insulin ready? Surprisingly, I didn't need any, maybe because I was so enthralled by all those wonderful mistakes. Intersting that they quoted a friend of the couple who didn't know how old she was.

If she were a friend, he or she would have knocked off at least 5. Or maybe they wanted us to believe PB gives his wife such great presents every year and not just on her anniversary. Like we'll believe it anyway; nobody is *that* perfect.

Yes well even the British Press wouldn't have fallen for 5, they've documented the two of them to much for that to slip by. LOL Yes all that definitely says 40... she probbaly got dinner out for 39. Oh and a trip to Tahiti. Ace

And since he also got a dinner and a trip to Tahiti on her birthday, they don't count as birthday presents. And come to think of it, he also got the boat cruise for his wife's anniversary and I bet the BMW was only because she kept borrowing one of his cars. So all she really got was her favorite food... I thought she was trying to lose weight...

Personally, I don't see it as much of a romantic gesture if the kids are there. Not that I'd turn down the diamonds and the car (although I might have trouble with seasickness on the yacht) - but sheesh, bringing the kids along? Grown-ups need time together, too. ::tries to remember what that was like:: cg

CG, they also brough along the nanny. It does allow some time together, especially if it's a large (and soundproof!) yacht. Some people just like to have their kids at hand at all the times - unfathomable, but I've encountered such phenomena. And the diamonds - how could I forget the diamonds! Now, that was a real birthday present.

Yes a Nanny makes all the difference as does one's own chef! As for alone time if we scroll back though this topic didn't he just take her to San Francisco for a weekend sans kids? Such a hard life. Ace

First of all, I must revise my comment on Keely's looks, it was the angle of the photograph, she does still look very lovely. Sorry Mrs B! As for her birthday, I didn't expect anything else, really. She did marry Prince Charming. ::tries not to be too jealous::

www.bayarea.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/6951807.htmSpeaking of Santana Row, a number of people claim to have seen Pierce Brosnan there over the weekend, but I haven't been able to confirm whether it's truth or mass hallucination. But Pat O'Brien of ``Access Hollywood'' was at the row's Hotel Valencia. Ask him. *** I hope this belongs here.
