Why the encompassing and vague title... because he's out and about too much for a post on each PB "sighting". San Francisco Chronicle Sept 10, 2003FINALLY: At Tommy Toy's on Saturday night, Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith, up from Los Angeles for a getaway weekend. A table of five female admirers bought Brosnan a gin martini, shaken, not stirred etc. etc., which proves what a well-behaved celebrity he is. When he's not being the public Bond, he drinks a Jack Daniel's Manhattan straight up. ====================== A gin martini, since when does Bond drink anything but vodka martinis? And I'm sure Keely was thrilled all the way around! ;D Ace

How do the actions of his female admirers prove he's well-behaved? And yes, I'm sure Keely was thrilled - wouldn't you like to wear on your arm the subject of everyone's affection?

I gather what proved he's "well behaved" is that he accepted it and drank it, ugh. Yeah Keely should be thrilled, nothing like having your husband take you on a romantic weekend to San Francisco and have women ogle him and buy him drinks. Quel romance. ;D Ace

Yuliya! But I really would enjoy wearing Pierce on my arm... Here, another PB sighting: www.biggleswadetoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=182&ArticleID=658419Singing to the starsDarrel performs at McCartney wedding Rock'n' roll performer Darrel Higham turned wedding singer at one of the biggest celebrity bashes of the Millennium. Darrel, 33, who is originally from Upper Caldecote, was brought in to sing at Stella McCartney's wedding reception after she had married publicist Alasdair Willis on the Isle of Bute in western Scotland. Stars from all over the world including Madonna, Pierce Brosnan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Liv Tyler, Kate Moss, Guy Ritchie, Sadie Frost, Sharleen Spiteri and Chris Martin were in attendance. Rather than asking for lavish wedding gifts the couple had requested guests buy their presents from a list of trees so that they could plant their own forest. The star-studded event had been veiled in such an air of secrecy that Darrel had to sign a confidentiality clause in his contract. But speaking to website planetjive.com he said: "It was a great evening for a lovely, down to earth couple who deserve all the happiness in the world. "We were treated very well, and although I won't go into any details, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves." Darrel and The Enforcers performed a one-hour set of rock 'n' roll songs before being joined by Beatle legend and bride's father Sir Paul McCartney, for impromptu versions of Sally and Honey Hush. After their set Sir Paul talked to Darrel and the band about his early days in the Beatles. He also revealed to Darrel, who portrayed Eddie Cochran for the revival of Jack Good's Elvis The Musical and played with Eddie's original band in the US, that Cochran was his idol. Lead singer with The Pretenders, Chrissie Hynde, had recommended Darrel to Sir Paul for the gig, having worked with him on sessions back in 2001. Either playing solo or with The Enforcers Darrel has 13 albums to his name as well as appearing on countless albums for other artists in a wide variety of musical roles. See the 12.09.03 edition of the Biggleswade Chronicle. 12 September 2003

From the In Style site. You could have been forgiven for thinking you’d wandered into an Academy Awards ceremony. The Rodeo Drive Walk of Style honored Giorgio Armani with a mega-event that shut down the street of shopping dreams for three days, and featured tributes from a Triple-A list that included Jodie Foster, Michelle Pfeiffer, Samuel L. Jackson, Debra Messing, Harrison Ford, and Mira Sorvino. The proceedings began with an outdoor showing of the designer’s Fall collection, to a suitably star-studded crowd (Sean Hayes, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Macy Gray, Jewel, Brendan Fraser), following which the man of the hour led his entourage into the massive after-party hosted by Vanity Fair. “I’ve been in the hotel the whole time and I’ve only seen my room and my store,” explained Armani (as translated by his niece, Roberta). “Tonight is wonderful and I don’t believe it when people say L.A. is fake.” As Sophia Loren sauntered in (prompting stylist Phillip Bloch to exclaim, “Now that is a fashion legend!”), loyal client Michelle Pfeiffer rhapsodized about the maestro’s magic touch: “His clothes are always modern and sexy, without making me self-conscious about what I’m wearing. I’m very lucky that he came into my life when he did.” Outkast got the crowd moving with some hip-hop beats, Pierce Brosnan chatted with Dylan McDermott, and Christian Slater and Ryan Haddon huddled in a cozy corner. As the hundreds of revelers started to head home for the evening (overheard: Paris Hilton inquiring if her cell phone had showed up in the Lost & Found), Steve Martin summed things up appropriately: “If everyone in the world wore Armani we would never have wars—just events.” —Victoria Namkung ================================= Pierce and Keely He cut his hair! I wonder if the haircut was a condition under which he could attend the event. Big mistake! Or maybe he's getting ready for the next movie; somehow, I don't see a contract killer wearing the same hairstyle. Oh well, maybe only if he's having a breakdown.

Wait Keely's there.... oh yes, not her best photo but he looks great. Yuliya, next film up is After The Sunset ... so he's a retired thief not a mentally unstable hitman. ;D I like the hair, short at the sides, still long enough on top... but I actually just got used to his "Daniel" hair. And cg, I doubt theirs a pony tail back there, otherwise they would have photographed it as they did when he did Grey Owl. Ace

Oy! It looks like I'm having a breakdown, not his next character. I like the hair, though - the current haircut and Daniel's from LOA, too.

--Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have joined a host of other celebrities raising money for the Adopt-a-landmine scheme. The campaign on Tuesday night held a gala dinner at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, where the A-list couple were thanked for their significant support. The event was hosted by Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Heather, with music supplied by the ex-Beatle himself and James Taylor. Michael and Catherine have managed to raise close to $480,000, enabling 373 square miles of land to be cleared of mines in Afghanistan. In his new role as an official United Nations ambassador for peace, Douglas said he was "very disappointed" that America remained one of the few countries not committed to ridding the world of landmines.
Other celebrities to lend their support included fellow actors Pierce Brosnan and Leonardo DiCaprio. The event was part of the Night Of A Thousand Dinners campaign, to which attendees can invite friends and well-wishers to raise funds. The initiative was launched in 2000 by the Canadian Landmine Foundation, in association with the Adopt-A-Landmine program, to aid the removal of landmines and provide support to victims.

Should have posted that here in the first place.... *** Sir Paul McCartney to launch Canadian driven international initiative to support landmine removal and survivor assistance at Los Angeles gala. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones to be honoured.www.newswire.ca/releases/September2003/16/c1300.htmlTORONTO, Sept. 16 /CNW/ - Pop music icon and former Beatles Sir Paul McCartney will perform at the opening 'Night of a Thousand Dinners' on September 23rd, at the Beverley Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. He will be joined on the stage by singer-songwriter James Taylor. McCartney and his wife Heather Mills-McCartney are actively involved in mine-action on an ongoing basis. The evening of the 23rd will also recognize Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones for their significant support of demining activity in Cambodia and Afghanistan. They are part of a growing list of celebrities lending their names and support to the cause including Jay Leno, Rob Reiner, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Pierce Brosnan, Leonardo DiCaprio and many others."We are overwhelmed by the support that the McCartneys have given to the mine action community," says Canadian Landmine Foundation President & CEO, Scott Fairweather. "We are hopeful that the LA event is the first of many dinners to follow over the coming period." Night of a Thousand Dinners was launched in 2000 by the Canadian Landmine Foundation in association with the Adopt-A-Minefield program as a fundraising program to clear landmines and support survivor assistance. Since that time, it has generated support in 50 countries around the world. Canada has taken an international leadership role in the area of mine-action and the driving force behind the International Treaty to Ban Landmines, signed by over 140 nations. There are currently estimated to be over 70 million landmines still buried in the ground dating back to the first world war and injuring or killing someone every 28 minutes, 24 hours a day. To participate in Night of a Thousand Dinners, this year centering on or around November 6th, individuals can invite friends, neighbours, family and business associates to dinner in their homes, or any kind of gathering of their choice. Guests make contributions that go towards supporting mine-action activity. Following registration on a website - www.1000dinners.com, hosts are sent a kit containing an assortment of resources designed to contribute to a compelling and thought provoking evening.

Yahoo: Wild 'Bill' Night in Hollywood Tue Sep 30, 1:19 PM ET
Jenny Peters Fashion Wire Daily September 30, 2003 - LA - It was a miracle that the samurai swords didn't start flying at the "Kill Bill Vol. 1" after-party last night in Hollywood, for after screening Quentin Tarantino (news)'s ultra-violent homage to kung fu flicks, the teeming crowd at the Hollywood Athletic Club ended up in the battle of their lives to grab a piece of life-sustaining sushi. Fortunately, no limbs were lopped off in the fight to snag a morsel of fish (unlike in the flick, where appendages seem to continually fly through the air), and drinks -- sake included -- at least were plentiful. Geisha girls and black-masked waiters (see the film to understand that one) were on hand to keep the booze flowing, while the film's Japanese girl band known as "4, 5, 6" banged their guitars and filled the air with raucous rock and roll sounds. The film's director-writer Quentin Tarantino held court in the smoke-filled outside garden, with his leggy stars Uma Thurman and Daryl Hannah, both of whom slipped into slim pants and tiny tops after walking the red carpet earlier in micro minis -- Uma in a glittery white lace backless number by Luisa Beccaria, Daryl's a ruffly, plunging neckline fire-engine-red look from Christian Dior. The much-anticipated film brought out some of the biggest names in Hollywood, all anxious to get an early look at Tarantino's first film in six years. Adam Sandler made the scene, along with Chris Rock, and "ER" hunk Goran Visnjic, rockers Sheryl Crow, Henry Rollins, and Anthony Kiedis, directors Robert Rodriguez, Kevin Smith and John Singleton, television pundits Bill Maher and John Salley, and crowd favorite Pierce Brosnan with wife Keely Shaye Smith. Miramax head honcho Harvey Weinstein happily greeted the film's other gorgeous stars, including Lucy Liu, who looked prettily perfect in a swingy, strapless black cocktail dress from Oscar de la Renta, Julie Dreyfus, a vision in a full-length, form-fitting leopard print vintage gown from Junko Shimada, and Vivica A. Fox , whose sheer black Elie Saab halter dress drew gasps from the crowd of onlookers that formed outside of Graumann's Chinese Theater. And when the lights went up and people spilled out onto the famous footprint-filled plaza of Graumann's, Pierce Brosnan summed up the general opinion of the smiling crowd with one word about the film. "Outrageous," was all he needed to say. Thumbnails & Photos at WireImage & London FeaturesYep, loving the beard.... Ace
