Yes, I saw it. It aired here last weekend. The entire thing was edited down to one hour with way too much Sarah Michelle Geller yapping in between and showing packaged video clips of the honorees without actually showing the ceremony or the recipients.
PB's intro speech was actually the only intro that I think made it out of the cutting room but even that was chopped up, you could see splices in the speech and it lasted less than a minute and then no presentation and then a cut to Rita Wilson talking about the award which was also cut up.

Liz Smith-Page SixWhen is the best time to receive a Cecil B. DeMille Life Achievement Award from the Golden Globes folks? Sunday at the Beverly Hilton. And this year, the award goes to that master of the comedic and dramatic, Robin Williams. Director Mike Nichols will be one of the presenters to Robin. And Bond, James Bond - Pierce Brosnan - will also speak and present. Remember when Robin and Pierce co-starred in "Mrs. Doubtfire?" Why two presenters? One for Robin's serious films, the other for his funnies? In any case, his will likely be an acceptance speech to go down in Hollywood history. Robin is incapable, in public at least, of giving a straight answer or comment on anything without going to various voices and endless shtick. Coming SoonPierce Brosnan and Mike Nichols are taking part in the presentation of the Cecil B. DeMille Award to Robin Williams for his "outstanding contribution to the entertainment field." The Golden Globe Awards, regarded worldwide as The Hollywood Party of the Year, will be seen in more than 150 countries worldwide, and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements. The event's rating growth has exceeded 500% since it became an annual event on NBC ten years ago. Last January's telecast was one of 2004's top two highest-rated awards telecasts. The special will be produced by dick clark productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Lorenzo Soria is President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Dick Clark and Barry Adelman are executive producers. Al Schwartz is consulting producer. Ken Shapiro is producer. Ron Weed is co-producer. 62nd Annual Golden Globe Awards to be telecast live on NBC Sunday, January 16 (8-11 p.m. EST) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Sundancing — Robert Redford's Sundance festival starts Thursday
By Jeff Vice Deseret Morning News
From its inception more than two decades ago, one of the primary objectives of the Sundance Film Festival has been to provide a place where the work of independent filmmakers — many of them first-timers — could be seen by an audience.
Park City's Main Street is a playground for filmmakers and film buffs for 11 days in January each year as the Sundance Film Festival comes to town.
But there's also a commercial side: The filmmakers hope that audience reaction will influence studio executives so that their movies might be picked up for theatrical distribution.
How things have changed.
One 2005 Sundance selection has already been acquired well before the festival opens. The Australian thriller "Wolf Creek" will get a nationwide release — probably in October — after being picked up by Dimension Films.
Sundance remains the premier U.S. showcase for independently produced features and shorts from the United States and around the world, and the 2005 festival starts its 11-day run Thursday with a screening of the "family-values" comedy "Happy Endings," starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tom Arnold, Laura Dern and Lisa Kudrow, in Park City's Eccles Theater.
On the following night, Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City plays host to director Gaby Dellal's "On a Clear Day," which stars Peter Mullan and two-time Academy Award-nominee Brenda Blethyn ("Secrets & Lies," "Little Voice").
And for the first time, the festival will feature a "centerpiece premiere," director George C. Wolfe's made-for-pay-cable drama "Lackawanna Blues," based on the stage play by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The film stars Jimmy Smits, Macy Gray and Terrence Howard and will debut Jan. 26 in the Eccles Theater.
In describing those films — as well as the other 120 features playing in this year's event — festival director Geoff Gilmore used words that have become Sundance catch-phrases: "risk-taking," "diversity" and "aesthetic innovation."
And he singled out "Happy Endings" for praise because it "examines the many layers of relationships in American families and shifting values that are at the heart of our country. . . . The humor and compassion with which they are explored is unexpected and moving." As always, Gilmore and other festival officials insist that the emphasis this year should be on the films and not on the stars who are in them. Sundance may be primarily about seeing movies, but for celebrities, it's just as often about being seen.
In the past few years, there have been splashy celebrity appearances by Britney Spears, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez (when they were still a couple), and last year the May-December pairing of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore (he was here in support of his thriller "The Butterfly Effect," which premiered at the festival).
The list of this year's possible attendees gathering in the rarefied air is even more star-studded:
• Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are expected to be in Park City for the premiere of "Strangers With Candy: The Movie."
• Pierce Brosnan ("The Matador")
• Glenn Close ("Heights," "The Chumscrubber")
• Kevin Costner ("The Upside of Anger")
• Daniel Day-Lewis ("The Ballad of Jack and Rose")
• Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr. ("Game 6")
• Keira Knightley ("The Jacket")
• Marisa Tomei ("Loverboy," "Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School")
• Naomi Watts ("Ellie Parker").
• And, of course, Robert Redford, the head of Sundance Institute, will be around for at least some of the festival.

Look at Robin and Pierce standing together. They are about the same age yet Williams looks like a battered old pickup truck. After watching the Golden Globes and a few of the related programs covering it, I'd say Pierce snuck in the back door, alone and unaccompanied, made the presentation, took these backstage photos, and then headed home. I did not see him on the red carpet, nor in the audience. Until he appeared for the Robin Williams presentation, I seriously thought he might be a no-show.
But, when he did walk on stage, I thought, by God, now THERE is a MOVIE STAR.
It also occurred to me as I watched the show, how many of his leading ladies were in attendance. I counted at least four: Terri Hatcher, Halle Berry, Julliana Margulies, Denise Richards, also you gotta count Annette Benning and Virginia Madsen. For a man with his extensive resume, I should think this happens alot at showbiz gatherings. I also should think he feels somewhat pleased with himself about it!

TEXT
My theory for dissapearance of Brosnan during the red carpet is simply he wants to avoid question from journalist on the possibility of him returning again for Bond 21.Maybe he will return after all and the recent rumours could be true.
BROSNAN FOR BOND 21...............!

From Rugged Elegant Living: When asked about how special it was that Pierce Brosnan, Williams' co-star in Mrs. Doubtfire would be presenting Robin with his award, Robin replied: It's as special for him to come out anywhere. He's so heavily armed to begin with it's just great to have him in the room.

I, too, was waiting for Pierce to appear somewhere in the crowd, and of course I especially anticipated his presentation. It was a bit of a save-the-best-for-last, huh? Anyway, when he finally walked on stage he just knocked my socks off (borrowing a phrase the SMA likes to use himself). He looked fantastic! Not that that's anything new, but it just hits you every time, doesn't it? He was unquestionably the best dressed man; I loved the black silk shirt and tie with the velvet jacket.

Sorry, I have to say that, but I thought Brosnan looked a little bit stressed. And I liked his clothes from 2004 much better than 2005.

Maybe he was a little nervous. That's quite understandable.

From Sundance, a tale of two co-stars, one happy, one not so much. Actor Pierce Brosnan, star of "The Matador," flashes his famous James Bond smile after a reception at the Volkswagen on Main Street.Actor Greg Kinnear, center, is looking a little lost in Park City after police moved his car. Cars waiting to pick up people connected to "The Matador," which stars Kinnear, blocked off traffic all the way down Main Street Friday evening, leading to jammed roads and sidewalks.

Many thanks for those wonderful photos at Sundance. You gotta love Keely, wearing black leather gloves against the winter's night chill - along with a plunging neckline. And Beau St. Clair, I've never seen better pictures of her - what's she done to herself? Maybe its the look of RELIEF: finally, good reviews from critics as well as premiere audiences.
Lets hope The Matador goes all the way!

There are now Getty: Matador Portraits up. Not the greatest photo session, the background colors and lighting leave a lot to be desired. But they're fun photos of Pierce with Greg Kinnear.

And I liked them a lot. Does this gesture PB is doing with his thumb and little finger have a meaning?

Oh, man, that gesture with the thumb and little finger! He does it constantly these days. Not being very hip, my guess is that it is universal sign language for "call me." See, your hand makes like a phone. Whatever it is, I wish he'd stop - very unbecoming IMO.
But wait ... maybe HE WANTS US TO CALL HIM! Yeah! Let's all do just that! (That would definitely break him of the habit.)
