Contract Music: BROSNAN USED TO MARKET CHINESE VIAGRA PIERCE BROSNAN is unwittingly been used as the face of a Chinese brand of Viagra. Chinese men are promised that they will be able to perform like British superspy JAMES BOND if they take VAGER 007. A Beijing sex shop salesperson says, "Locals think Mr Brosnan is a strong lover with lots of power." 13/10/2004 13:40 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

;D ;D ;D Notice how a small thing such as omitted auxiliary verb changed the meaning of the headline. ( Ace - "a slight mistake in the reference of the adjective," is that how it was?)

Hey, I didn't write the headline I just reporterd it exactly as written. To make it more accurate would be to lose part of the cheap laughs. Ace

...and make it less eye-catching, which is exactly why they didn't make it more accurate. I didn't accuse you, though, just pointed out the funny line. As for the second part of my post - it's addressed to you because I hoped you'd catch the source, which I doubt anyone else would.

Um...I am feeling slightly idiotic now.
What have I missed?

PS: Brosnan used to market Viagra, means he used to do it, but doesn't anymore. Brosnan's image used to market....makes more sense, but isn't funny.

Brosnan used to market Viarga means he used to do Viagra commercials or used to promote it in some other way. Used to in this sense means - did for a long time, but doesn't anymore. That's not what the article says, though.
Brosnan is used to promote Viagra means that Brosnan, or more specifically in this case, his name and/or image are being used in Viagra advertisement. Adding is to this sentence makes it passive. When it's said about a person, not an object, it usually means it's done without the person's knowledge, without consent, or against his/her will.
Adding the "is" makes the deadline correct. Omitting it - cheesy and more eye-catching.

I haven't got the time to read this right now, but I'll get back to it. *** Just read the interview. I think I got his drift. ;D

An unusually crude article, impudent questions and naughty responces. (I'm printing this one out.....)
A friend of mine told me that there is an 8 x 10 color glossy of Pierce tacked to the ceiling of her high-priced gynocologist's office. The purpose of which I care not to speculate.
I can only imagine what the offices are like over there in Beijing!

I don't want to know why that photo is there but I can take a pretty good guess. But considering what he had to say about Playboy in that Interview interview I'm sure he'd understand. That is one of my favorite interviews, very loose, very funny and yeah naughty, and wonderfully different from most of the other cookie cutter ones that ask the same questions the same way and get the same answers in the same way. It's one of my favorite interviews, as well. To give Ace credit, I got the URL from her a few years ago. I'm sure Mr. B would understand and appreciate that his face is used to sweeten an otherwise quite unpleasant experience. Beats seeing it used as a target practice.

I also have that interview up at my site with a couple of (grainy) photos of him poncing around with the bloody blonde young enough to be his daughter. Interview: Thomas Crown, back in town Ace

EEK! Why would he be poncing around suggestively with Charlotte? That's just a model hired for the photo shoot who PB joking says is young enough to be his daughter in reference to an earlier part of the conversation dealing with Hugh Hefner and his young lovlies. ;D Ace

It's kinda like when they lend celebrities clothes to be photographed in and then print, "Sweater by Ralph Lauren, $300, shoes by Gucci, $1500, watch by Omega, priceless," only the model comes without the price - must be illegal in some states.
