Heathen! With that kind of blasphemous attitude they'll never let you into England where Bond on TV at X-Mas is a ritual! Ace

I don' tthink Taipans ever joke about their Bonds. And regardless of that, it's very thoughtful of Spike TV to think of those poor deprived who don't celebrate Christmas nor care for most of family classics consistently aired year after year. Thank God for VCRs, DVDs, and holiday discounts on what to play on them!

What Yuliya said. Honestly, England has to be the only country that can show a 40 year old Bond film that every has already seen 1000 times... in primetime and get more than 30% of all viewers watching TV to tune in. And yes they show them on X-Mas and "Bank Holidays" with regularity. Just think the only films to make more in the U.K.over the last 2 years than DAD were Harry Potter 2 and LOTR: TTT (Star Wars, Matrix, Spiderman franchises.... need not apply)... both also with ahem very strong British ties but neither in their 20th installment. On Monday 12/8 TBS is showing:
8:00- 10:25 PM Dinner & A Movie I- The Thomas Crown Affair
1:05 AM-3:05 AM - The Thomas Crown Affair
So take one 1:53m film and squish it into a 2 hour time slot with 40+ minutes of commercials or a 2:25 min slot padded with 25 minutes of Dinner & A Movie babbling and 40+ minutes of commercials. Can we say hatchet job?

Yes, we can, but will it do any good? We better show our protest by popping in our tape/DVD and watching it instead. Or those lazy train wrech lovers can just never tell anyone they didn't prefer another channel to keep TBS' ratings down.

OK I take it back, yes TBS butchers TCA (gone is the glider scenes, the negotiation take over scenes, and of course the sex scenes) but I just adore their show Dinner & A Movie, the co-hosts are very funny.
With TCA they made "art tarts" which looked delicious but even better in the first break the male co-host jokes OK here it comes.... she's going to let loose with the drooling. And she does. LOL....
To paraphrase....
"Pierce Brosnan… he’s magnificent … not just because he’s gorgeous but because of the way he moves and that look he gets in those incredible eyes… "
Her male co-host then joked OK it’s true, that if he looked that good he'd spend all day walking around hotel lobbies. LOL!!
Some very funny stuff about the film all the way though made it a different but enjoyable viewing experience.

I watched bits and pieces of it among doing other things. Too much else going on to see all of it, but I did manage to stop and watch most of the "replace the Monet" scene. Such fun!
::wonders what it would be like to have that kind of money::

You'll either be bored becase you'll have everything you want or you'll want more money. It would be an intersting experience, though.

You'll either be bored becase you'll have everything you want I suppose that's a possibility, but I honestly think it would take me a long time to get there! btw, when I was speaking of how much money he had, I wasn't referring to his art collection or his expensive sporting hobbies or even his wonderful island. What do you suppose it costs to hire - what, twenty? - men (who don't ask questions, or presumably, answer them) to all dress alike, show up at a certain time, and make tracks through the museum with choreographed precision? That's rich. Maybe. But I've always felt as if I had a certain amount more than I have now, it would be enough, yet I've never aspired to the so-rich-you-can-do-or-buy-anything lifestyle. If someone wanted to invest in that kind of experiment with me, however, I'd be happy to let you all know the results. cg

I didn't see it in PB's next month TV schedule or anywhere else except for my own TV Guide but Dolphins premiere on January 1, 2004 on PPV on Dish Network. Keep an eye on it, maybe other providers will show the movie on PPV channels as well.

We'll have to keep our eyes open for that one. I have to confess, I "found" Tom Selleck before I ever found PB, even before Selleck got wildly popular. But as Eisenhower?? That's one heck of a stretch. cg

The Golden Globe Awards will be seen in more than 150 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements. The event's rating growth has exceeded 500% since it became an annual event on NBC eight years ago. Last January's telecast was one of 2003's top three highest-rated awards telecasts. The special will be produced by dick clark productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Lorenzo Soria is President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Dick Clark and Barry Adelman are executive producers. Al Schwartz is consulting producer. Ken Shapiro is producer. Ron Weed is co-producer. Moet is the official champagne of the Golden Globe Awards. =================================== He was suppossed to do this last year if I recall... and didn't... so... grain of salt but the he has two films coming out this year so publicity... Hmmm..... the last time he was "honoured" with a "prestigious" (hey is that my free perk asks a judge of dubious foreign press credentials? Thanks, here are your noms Miramax!) Golden Globe nomination was in 1984 for Nancy Astor (much deserved). Why can't he work for a studio that's not too cheap to bribe people? Ace

For anyone watching when the Golden Globes airs in a delayed time zone, PB presents the best Foreign Film in the last 1/2 hour.
