Just curious - does anyone else think that doesn't sound like the way PB talks? "...he's just gonna..." sounds a little slangy (or maybe just sloppy) for him. ::shrugs::

Hmmmm..... Maybe that was deliberate. After all he was talking to "Teen Hollywood". ;D

No matter how many Bonds he makes, there will still be a few romantic islands in the Pacific where he doesn't have a little place yet. But the interview is from 2002 (Ace, care to guess? ), so maybe one of his dreams came true since then.

Jeez he only did about 67,000 interviews in 2002... care to narrow it down to a channel and a month? Ace

Ho-ho! I was kidding but we can play now! Month - no idea. If someone enlightens me, I'll finally write it down. It was aired in the summer, I think. Channel - TLC - The Learning Channel. (I didn't know I had that!)

OOH OOH that was the show on the business of films, large and small wasn't it? It was actually I believe filmed before 2002 and before he started DAD and rigth when he was about to do Evelyn, no? So yes pre Hawaii house too. Ace

Oh, wow...! I mean, Oh, wow! OK, I remembered it all the way because I loved the quote, but when you didn't remember, I didn't think you would, even with my hint; I nearly just posted where it came from. It was called "Blockbusters," I think. And it was filmed some time before it was aired; it was supposed to air earlier, maybe in the spring of 2002, but not a lot earlier because they showed PB filming Evelyn with Beresford and talked about PB becoming the Sexiest Man Alive and that only happened in the Fall of 2001.

I don't know whether to take a bow, ashamed it took me so long to get, or ashamed I know it. ;D
Hmmm, does he mention SMA in the interview? Or did they refer to him as that? SMA was announced in Nov 2001 and he was doing Evelyn then, so if he mentions it that would change the time frame to after Evelyn and pre DAD.

He doesn't mention being the Sexiest Man Alive. The segment consists of a lot of smaller pieces - PB talking about producing, about Bond, about Evelyn, they showed him and Beresford filming, and showed news stands filled with SMA issues of People. I'm sure different segments were filmed at different times since in some of them he and Beresford are in winter clothes and in others he and Beau St. Clair are talking about Beresford willing to do Evelyn while sitting on a beach somewhere, probably in California. Psst! Ace! This board is not a place to be ahsamed of your vast PB knowledge! And there is no shame in not remembering the quote right away, so bow.

::bows non guiltily::
The difference in time period of the interview explains why when I visualize it I see PB and Beau talking on the beach in Malibu when I know he wasn't there in November for the SMA stuff.

PB and Beau talking on the beach in Malibu was the only thing I visualized, too. I know about the rest because I've just watched it to make the sound file.

Thanks for the sound file, Yuliya! Geez, it's so cold here in Germany at present, I become jealous only at the mention of Pierce and Beau sitting on a Malibu beach. *** Jolie Falls For The Next BondOctober 25, 2003 www.teenhollywood.com/d.asp?r=51457&cat=1027Angelina Jolie is convinced Beyond Borders co-star Clive Owen should be the next James Bond. The couple play lovers in the new movie, and Jolie couldn't help but fall in love with the British actor while they were working together. She thinks Owen will bring a fresh, fatherly feel to the 007 franchise should he take over from Pierce Brosnan, as has been reported. She says, "I don't think we've had a really great strong leading man like this in a long time. "He's a great guy, great family man, two kids, a wife. He's lovely." Meanwhile, Jolie is also thrilled with the prospect of working with new dad Colin Farrell on Oliver Stone's Alexander the Great epic. She adds, "I just saw him for rehearsals and it was a few days after his son was born, and all he could talk about was being a dad. He's just a crazy, happy dad." *** Good for her, but she isn't Debbie McWilliams. ;D

Fatherly feel? Is that what the franchise needs?

Well it's just as ridiculous as Beyond Border's director Martin Campbell blabbing on and on about how Owen as the next Bond. Read this piece of self promotion and spew at the Goldeneye ingrate! (who's also said elsewhere he'd only direct another Bond if Owen was Bond. Puhlease. ) At least Owen knows what Campbell is full of. www.canoe.ca/JamMovies/oct25_clive-sun.html"Campbell, however, says that Owen is not only terrific in Beyond Borders but that he would make a great James Bond -- and play the role with more gusto than Brosnan. "He's slightly darker and more dangerous. Sean Connery had a real edge to him, which none of the rest do. I mean, I love Pierce and he's great and he does it real well, but it's different. I think Clive goes right back to Connery." Few could pull that off, Campbell says. "Where are the William Holdens and the Burt Lancasters and the Lee Marvins and the Robert Ryans and the Tyrone Powers? They don't exist -- and I think Clive is one of the rare exceptions." Owen grins maliciously when he hears Campbell's praise: "He's full of s--t!" " ===================================== I'm so glad this film BOMBED HUGE this weekend, critically and financially, so I don't have to read anymore of this 007 piggy backing poo and self promotion from this group. It's a bomb of Gigliproportions at the B.O. It will be lucky to make $2m this weekend on over 1700 screens. Heh. Ace

"Fatherly feel?" I don't watch the movies and I have two things to say: 1) Fatherly? What are they going to do, round up all of Bond's heretofore (?) unacknowledged children by his various women, and turn it into a Bond and Sons franchise? (would daughters be allowed?)
and 2) as if PB couldn't be as fatherly as anyone, if that's what the part called for. Sheesh.

She adds, "I just saw him for rehearsals and it was a few days after his son was born, and all he could talk about was being a dad. He's just a crazy, happy dad." ;D ;D ;D This is hilarious! I bet this feeling didn't last too long... well except the part where she thinks he's crazy. From ShowBiz ireland 14-10-03 news Colin Cocks-Up with Angelina!!! According to reports in today's papers bad-boy Colin Farrell has managed to shock Angelina Jolie into moving out of her plush hotel by repeatedly flashing at her during marathon drinking sessions! She may have had a crazy life and been exposed to the darker side of society in her mere 28 years but there seems to be a point where Angelina Jolie says "No More". Apparently party-boy Colin and his drinking buddy on the set of Alexander the Great, former boxer Gary Stretch, have been having some late nights in their hotel keeping staff and other guests up with their antics. And it seems that our Colin has started to believe in his own press and to prove the rumours true has decided to show anyone in his proximity while drinking just how long is ding-a-ling is! So much so that the movie's crew have branded him "C**k Out Colin." Angelina, who has recently opted for the quiet life rearing her adopted son Maddox, decided to leave the hotel after being continually exposed to Colin's infamous appendage. Hotel staff also had enough of Colin and kicked the Dubliner out of the plush hotel. ------------------------------------------------------------- Ace
