LOL! There’s an episode of Food Network Challenge on today called “Chocolate Runway.” Confectioners have to create high fashions that are at least 75% chocolate and can be worn on the catwalk at a real show. Too late now, but if we’d had that plotline in “Steele Threads” Laura might have actually helped Mr. Steele get her out of her gowns, nibble by nibble.
STEELE: Not that I’m complaining, Miss Holt, but wasn’t your hemline a bit longer a few moments ago?
LAURA: What sharp little eyes you’ve got. I thought it was still rather tasteful.
STEELE: [sees the chocolate at the corner of her mouth] I’ll bet you did. You know what they say. Shorter hemlines mean stocks are going up.
LAURA: [sighs] What does it mean when necklines are going down? I have an awful feeling I’m going to find out.
STEELE: [rather delighted at the prospect] I think it means you’ll be selling short.
