Cristy Trembly of CBS Television City Will Receive the Chapter’s
Tracey Miller Merit Award
Burbank, California – The Southern California Chapter of the American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT SoCal) will honor Doris Roberts, Sue Johenning, Ellen K, Andrea Stoltzman and Robin Bertolucci for their extraordinary contributions to radio and television broadcasting in Southern California at the organization’s annual Genii Awards in Los Angeles. Cristy Trembly will receive the Tracey Miller Merit Award for outstanding chapter member. Held on June 13, 2007, at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, California, this awards dinner event is a major fundraising initiative that benefits the organization's ongoing efforts to educate, advocate, and provide resources for women in the entertainment industry here in Southern California.

Doris Roberts: After nine years as Marie Barone on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” which brought her international accolades as the most popular comedic actress in television, Doris Roberts, will receive this year’s Genii Award for Lifetime Achievement. With an illustrious career of achievement in theatre, films and television that has earned her distinctive stature throughout the entire entertainment profession, Doris Roberts in 2001 was selected by the prestigious American Film Institute as one of five actresses of the year. She went on to receive her fourth Emmy Award, Television’s preeminent recognition of artistry, three in a row for her role as the beloved, but meddle some, mother on the popular CBS series "Everybody Loves Raymond” and an earlier Emmy for “St. Elsewhere,” among nominations for both dramatic and comedic work on “Remington Steele,” “Full House” and “The Sunset Gang.”
