I just watched end of the Steele that... and it seems as if they intertwined the wrong arms and then Pierce goes, "Let's do this again, shall we?" and as they do it again, Steph's glass is in the way so he can't drink his glass and then she starts laughing and then he kisses her..... I am just so confused because that was definitely far from the script and I understand that some scripts are rewritten but even that scene looked more like a blooper (although it was cute.) The body language of the actors/feeling given from the previous lines changed immediately after they intertwined with the wrong arm. I could be wrong but does anyone have any speculations?

I have long suspected that it was a blooper that they left in because it was "real". At one point, it looks like Stephanie glances at the camera almost expecting to hear "cut", but when she doesn't they both roll with it.

When her glass is in front of his so he can't drink, do you think that was called for in the script as well? And how about the kiss? None of it is in the original script so it's just weird that the actors would proceed even that far after two mistakes in the scene.

I think by this point in the series both actors knew their characters so well that they didn't need those little directions put in the script. And sometimes, once on the set, depending on what the director wants and what the actors feel is appropriate, little things like this can happen. It was the tag scene, so no major dialog or exposition needed to happen. Michael himself said he was a stickler for saying the lines as he wrote them. But nothing was said about interpreting the actions that go along with those lines or improvising if they needed a few extra moments for a shot.
