I would have never thought this but actually there are a lot of parts of R.S. that are ad libbed! Not really the dialogue, although there is some here and there with PB, but some of the smaller, but very meaningful points in the show are actually ad libbed! I was re watching some of my favorite episodes of RS and was reading the scripts along with it. I was shocked! In 'Coffee, Tea or Steele,' Pierce seemed to be super unpredictable. When RS unbuttons LH's buttons on her coat, it wasn't actually written in the script. Seemed to be something he just added in. The light kiss on her shoulder and the bouncing on the bed were also Pierce and not the script. In 'Steele's Gold', he also ad libs in some of the kisses and movement. If you look closely at the script, the kisses in the sleeping bag scene are supposed to happen later in the script but RS starts a lot early on in the scene. It's very interesting to watch RS and read the script along with it. I did notice that Stephanie generally sticks more strictly to the script but I like the more personal touch Pierce adds.
One thing that was called to my attention and is still a mystery to me is in 'Steele Blushing'. It's the kiss at the end. In the script, it appears that they are only supposed to embrace but there is a full-body contact that is not mentioned at ALL in the script. I wonder if that was something the director put in and changed or not. I have heard that it was something that either Pierce or Stephanie or both of them decided to do. Not sure how accurate that is but I do have a hard time seeing the directors add in a full body contact like that. They and the writers were really cautious about pushing that kind of stuff too far.
Just some things I noticed off of RS.
