John McTiernan was honored in Deauville this past year and he presented a Master Class to student film makers... www.cinematheque.fr/fr/dans-salles/rencontres-conferences/espace-videos/master-class-john-mctiernan,v,804.html *** He discusses Nomads around 50:00, about writing the script (he majored in Anthropology in college), and again around 57:00 - 1:03:00. He begins to talk about Thomas Crown around 1:36:00 And has a bit of interesting commentary on the Studios around 1:56:00 There's a LOT of time devoted to Die Hard and filming techniques used in that movie (some of which he pioneered) and he does not mention Pierce at all. But I thought it was interesting and gave some insight into what he was thinking when he made the 2 movies with Pierce. ============== *** You need to copy and paste the whole link for it to work properly. The "commas" in there are preventing the link from working, but they are necessary to get to the correct part of the site.
