Alchemy has acquired U.S. distribution rights to James McTeigue’s terrorism thriller “Survivor,” which stars Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett and Robert Forster.
“Survivor,” which will receive a multi-platform release later this year, follows a Foreign Service officer in London as she tries to prevent a terrorist attack in New York. She’s forced to go on the run after she is framed for crimes she didn’t commit.
Charles Winkler, Irwin Winkler, Matt O’Toole and Les Weldon produced “Survivor,” while Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Jason Bloom executive produced. Phil Shelby wrote the screenplay.
“We’re so pleased to add ‘Survivor’ to our slate,” said Alchemy’s CEO Bill Lee. “It’s a wonderful film that features an all star cast and non-stop action. The acquisition of ‘Survivor’ is a great demonstration of the ongoing relationship between our two companies. We’re thrilled to continue to acquire and release select films from Millennium Films’ production pipeline.”
The deal comes on the heels of Friday’s news that Paramount had pulled Brosnan’s action-adventure movie “The Moon and the Sun” off its release calendar.

Survivor: UK exclusive first trailer shows Pierce Brosnan hunting Milla Jovovich in action-packed thriller 18:01, 2 April 2015 By Danny Walker
What do you do after playing British hero James Bond? Play a ruthless assassin...
This first look at action-packed movie Survivor shows Pierce Brosnan and Milla Jovovich were meant for thrillers.
On this adventure Brosnan is a long way from his famous role as James Bond - although he does have a dangerous gadget in the trailer, which blows up a lot of poeple.
The film, involves a State Department employee (Milla Jovovich) newly posted to the American embassy in London, where she is charged with stopping terrorists from getting into the U.S. And that puts her in the line of fire.
Soon she is targeted for death, framed for crimes she didn't commit, discredited and on the run.
As the fast-paced trailer suggests 'She is the first line of defence' and now must find a way to clear her name and stop a large-scale terrorist attack set for New Year's Eve in New York's Times Square. As you do.
Half of the above involves the Embassy 'crawling with marines' but that doesn't stop either Jovovich's character or Brosnan's... The Watchmaker!
Directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) and from the Producers of Olympus has Fallen, this looks like a hit.
Starring Milla Jovovich (The Resident Evil franchise), Pierce Brosnan (James Bond), Dylan McDermott (Olympus Has Fallen, Automata), Angela Basset (Olympus has Fallen), James D’Arcy (Jupiter Ascending, Cloud Atlas) and Frances De La Tour (The Harry Potter Franchise).
* Survivor is in cinemas on 5 June 2015

16 New Images From 'Survivor' Starring Pierce Brosnan and Milla Jovovich
Alchemy has provided us with 16 new images from Survivor, the new action thriller from director James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), starring Pierce Brosnan and Milla Jovovich.
In the film, after being mysteriously framed for a terrorist bombing, a Foreign Service Officer (Jovovich) must evade government capture and death by a ruthless assassin (Brosnan) in order to stop the real perpetrators’ master—and much deadlier—plan.
Co-starring Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett and Robert Forster, Survivor hits theaters and On Demand May 29th.
An excerpt about Pierce's character (translation courtesy of Google Translate) ...
Returning to the cast, as well as Milla Jovovich, we Pierce Brosnan in the role of villain completely new: as it was to see 007 in the villain?
Pierce has literally adored this part. For him it was an exciting challenge to try to be finally a bad guy , and it's a bad memorable as much as Max von Sydow it Three Days of the Condor or Edward Fox will The Day of the Jackal ... in short, one of those silent and villain silent, and in the film do not talk much, but when they say something you listen to them and capture attention. I think in both Brosnan enjoyed this whole process of working with the look and expression, and he certainly has the right charisma and personality to such a role. He is a passionate person who does the work and led to the set a great joy and energy.
