Bond fan and movie blogger "The Incredible Suit" meets Bond number 5 (and some bloke sitting next to him ) during filming of "A Long Way Down." theincrediblesuit.blogspot.com/I won't kid myself, either. As much as I might wish to say something cheeky to His Pierceness like "Hey! Julian Noble! Where were you during my schoolgirl years?" -- it would probably go like this: Me: Umm, umm... Pierce: Can I pick up my latte, please? Me: [moving aside] Sorry.

Yeah, this would pretty much describe me, too!! I know I'd probably be a stammering, idiot in his presence! That blog was a hoot, tho!!

"Sorry, I'm just so excited" tumbled out of my face like fizzy froth spurting out of a shaken lemonade bottle, and I actually clamped my hand over my mouth before any more inane cockwaffle spilled out. I'm torn between laughing and cringing at his excitement and embarrassment - knowing it would be the same for me. Best or worst part as he's trying hopelessly to make intelligent conversation by asking about the film Pierce is making and yet can't get form any coherent sentences - like - "Uh... I read that, er... a lady had been cast in it. Quite recently", I wittered. Jesus Christ. - and Pierce kindly responds by listing the cast to ascertain what lady. Most amusingly "that lady" was probably Rosamund Pike who any die hard Bond fan should know.

Well, in fairness, he did say he wanted to run in slow motion and hug PB while politely avoiding mention of Die Another Day.

I hate to admit this but whenever I hear this film's plot described I think, "Love, Actually, On a Rooftop" -- which is silly because it's Nick Hornby and would never be that fluffy, but there you go. I haven't read the book but he's always interesting with dialogue, and the male perspective, from his side of the street. You do feel like you're eavesdropping in, which is good, but I hope he does better by his female characters in this one than usual.
Speaking of "Love on a Rooftop" hey, wasn't that a 60's sitcom with Judy Carne? And Pete Duel, back in the day.

Excerpt from Rosamund Pike interviewAlready in the can is what she termed a ‘delicious cameo’ where she plays a breakfast TV host in A Long Way Down, based on a Nick Hornby novel, with her old Bond beau Pierce Brosnan.

The screenplay for 'A Long Way Down' has been adapted and written by Jack Thorne and is taken from the book by British novelist Nick Hornby. It is about four people who meet on New Year's Eve and form a 'surrogate family' to help each other through difficulties in their lives. The film is scheduled to premiere in 2013.
