Oh that sucks! Hopefully you can rearrange something so you can go. I'm catching the 2pm show in my neck of the woods.

I didn't get to see the film in the theatre recently but I did several years ago when a local theatre had its annual classic film festival. It's so much fun to see those old movies like they were meant to be seen. Even though I own Casablanca on both VHS and DVD, I still manage to attend local theatre screenings whenever possible. Remember the "movie star" in Singin' In The Rain, the one with the awful voice? She was Jean Hagen who played Danny Thomas' first wife, Margaret, on the TV series Make Room For Daddy/The Danny Thomas Show. I've been watching the series on Me-TV and wondered why I've never seen the early shows with Margaret, so I looked it up. The only episodes in syndication are the ones with the second wife, Kathy (Marjorie Lord). The early episodes with Margaret are actually in the public domain, as the copyright was not renewed on them, and a few of them were released on cheap DVDs. As a side note, I always thought Kathy (M. Lord) looked much younger than Danny and Margaret (J. Hagen). It turns out, Marjorie Lord was actually about five years older than Jean Hagen! Even now, in my old age, I think Kathy looks extremely young in that series.
