Deleted scene ... bcove.me/68jlsxsywww.ew.com/article/2015/10/13/no-escape-deleted-sceneNo Escape Posted October 13 2015 — 10:15 AM EDT In No Escape, Owen Wilson and his family find themselves in the middle of an uprising. The American businessman took an executive job in Southeast Asia, and he, his wife (Lake Bell), and their two daughters have barely arrived when their bubble of Western luxury is burst by street violence against the government. The armed rebels not only fight the regime, but they’re targeting white foreigners as well. In the film, which becomes available on Digital HD on Nov. 13, followed by the VOD and Blu-ray/DVD release on Nov. 24, Owen’s character discovers the imminent civil war only after he practically stumbles into the crossfire. But in this deleted scene, he gets a warning from Pierce Brosnan’s mysterious playboy. “Something strange in the air going on,” hints Brosnan, giving Wilson’s family man pause about his planned tour of the city.

www.hitfix.com/news/watch-a-brutal-pierce-brosnan-moment-in-this-deleted-scene-from-no-escapeWatch a brutal Pierce Brosnan moment in this deleted scene from ‘No Escape’ Owen Wilson and Brosnan fight for their lives in the middle of a coup in the summer thriller By Emily Rome @emilynrome | Monday, Nov 23, 2015 3:15 PM Gritty and tense thriller “No Escape” boasts plenty of horrifying action, but it could have had even more if its filmmakers hadn’t cut out a scene of Pierce Brosnan’s character totally losing it. Now you can watch that brutal scene exclusively on HitFix. Directed by John Erick Dowdle (a participant in HitFix’s Ultimate Horror Poll who helmed scary movies “Devil” and “Quarantine”), this past summer’s “No Escape” depicts an American family in their new overseas home, who find themselves caught in the middle of a coup. They must frantically search for a safe escape as rebels attack the city. On the flight to their new home (an unnamed Asian country) Owen Wilson’s and Lake Bell’s characters meet Brosnan’s Hammond. They end up running into him during the attacks as they’re trying to protect their family. In the fight for survival, in this deleted scene, Hammond appears to be far gone as he pummels a man to death. Of his character in this moment, Brosnan told HitFix, “This is a man who’s been out in the hinterland of life far too long. He’s burnt out. He’s addled with guilt and grief and anger and a disrupted life. He just loses it. He hates himself and hates the world and yet finds himself in the company of this family [where] maybe he can do something right.” Brosnan also said, “I think they were right in keeping [this scene] out of the movie.” But here’s your chance to see it now, ahead of tomorrow’s DVD/Blu-ray release of “No Escape.” (The film is currently available on digital platforms.) Also, for Brosnan’s tale about the writing and making of another intense, very spoilery moment of his in the film, read on past the video.

I have not seen the movie and can not wait to do it. I think Pierce should have a wonderful interpretation. It's great in action movies, good is fantastic in all. Thank you

A nice interview with the Dowdle brothers ... www.filmfad.com/exclusive-john-and-drew-dowdle-talk-practical-effects-in-no-escape/Excerpt on Pierce ... We like to cast really warm actors. The world of “No Escape” is such a cold world, we really wanted to bring warm actors into it to make it more inviting. For the role of Jack we wanted somebody who you haven’t really seen do something like this. We wanted a regular person, like one of your friends in this situation not like a “actiony” person in that situation. And then we liked the idea of doing something a little revelatory for that actor. And then we started thinking, “Wouldn’t it be fun to cast someone like Pierce Brosnan?” He in a very specific way and then flip that on its head a little too. Make him sort of rugged and an alcoholic and bearded and see what happens with that. It became good fun for us and Pierce, that guy can do anything, it’s really fun to see him do a character.
