Makes perfect sense. I work in the Ent. Industry as well and have to be careful about behaving like a rabid fan. I don't collect autographs and it's rare for me to ask an actor for a pic; I could one day be working with that specific actor so have to keep my inner fangirl in check:) - Tammy How on earth do fans catch actors at an airport AND have something with them to sign? I wondered the same thing myself and then I was talking with a friend who has ties to the entertainment industry. And she told me that when stars are photographed at the airports with those autograph hounds (that's what I call the people who always have professional stills of the star to sign) nearby, it's usually because the star's publicist has alerted the media about the travel plans. When I went to the White House Correspondent's Dinner last year, there were many of these professional autograph seekers there. Apparently it's a business and there is a way to dress, a way to approach the stars as they walk by, etc. All these autograph people had accordion folders or manilla envelops with photos of the stars that they knew would be at the event. This morning when I was outside ABC waiting to catch a glimpse of PB, there were about 15 of these people ready with stills of PB as Bond for him to sign. In this case, it was publicized that he would be at the ABC studios, so those people knew where to go. They were all busy giving each other advice on where is the best place to stand, where to get info, even what to say to any star they met. It was fascinating to listen to. |

I also think that one of the reasons that Pierce was so accommodating to me was that I asked to take a pic WITH him. I'm pretty sure he realized I was a fan and not there to get something from him that I would later sell.
I noticed that while he was cordial to the 2 autograph seekers that were around when I was there, it seemed like he was going thru the motions of being famous. But when he heard my request, his demeanor definitely changed and I felt like he genuinely wanted to please a fan.

Apparently after the pix above were taken, some of the paparazzi must have said or done something to upset Pierce and Paris, as evidenced by these 2 pix ...   But this has to be one of the best of PB flipping off the paparazzi (it happens at about 0:20) ... Honestly, I can't imagine what it's like to be hounded by the press every time you go out in public to do "normal" life things. |
