Not counting those he's already worked with
1. The Coen Brothers (oh for the missed opportunity of Oh Brother Where Art Thou) 2. Quentin Tarantino (oh for the missed opportunity of Casino Royale) 3. Martin Scorcese (well just because....) 4. Christoper Nolan (in a film like Insomnia, Memento, Prestige) 5. Werner Herzog (something really wild)
In my dreams:
1. Alfred Hitchcock 2. Billy Wilder 3. William Wyler 4. Michael Curtiz 5. John Ford

William Wyler 4. Michael Curtiz 5. John Ford Werner Herzog! Now there’s a brilliant left-field choice! Thank heaven Klaus Kinski’s dead or PB might need a bodyguard. I’ll see your O Brother, Where Art Thou and raise you Miller’s Crossing. You’ve put a humongous dent in my top five! Who's left, LOL! Here’s a few more from my short list, in no particular order. Writer / Directors Tony Gilroy and Alexander Payne – mid-range, but they make movies for adults Stephen Frears -- good at almost any period or style he turns his hand to; knows how to put together a great cast Danny Boyle – Another altar boy who made good – or Neil Jordan – sexual confusion can be a turn-on, after all! Clint Eastwood – not sure if he’d be a good fit, but PB would be so chuffed to work with him! Julian Schnabel – arty without being stuffy; Pierce could bring his easel along Ridley Scott – not an actor’s director, but so cinematic! (If Pierce were bilingual) – Pedro Almodovar (C’mon! Talk about the unexpected! And he does have a thing for matadors) <wink> In my dreams Howard Hawks – in a western, film noir, screwball comedy, war film – let PB be as versatile as his director David Lean – just to see if Pierce could survive it, LOL! John Huston – for the stories he could tell, on-screen and off. Ken Russell – from back in his heyday, in something really trippy Fred Zinnemann – for Oscar bait, from a Robert Bolt play / screenplay Thinking of previous hookups, I wouldn't mind PB working with Roger Donaldson again, if they could find the right material. I re-watched his "The Bank Job," the other day. It's a very handily done caper movie, a sure-footed job all 'round. He even manages to turn Jason Statham into a good actor, LOL! He wouldn't have to work that hard with Pierce.
