Thank you Great job. Interestingly, I have an old interview somewhere (may be the Today interview I already posted many months ago) where Cassie says she thought her return role to Steele would be a fun character in a fun episode and she really wasn't all that excited about playing the dark Anna. I think it shows in her performance to some extent, she seems to have had much more fun as Felicia.

In my opinion, Anna is much more interesting than Felicia. I've never thought that the role of Felicia was as useful in Remington's life as Anna or Daniel were. The triangular relationship brings a new dimension to both Remington and Laura. I think "Woman of Steele" is the first episode which is not humourous and where the Laura-Remington relationship is really affected by something/someone on which they have no hold on (at least in the first part of the episode). I personnally think that Felicia has never aroused such deepness from L and R. That does't mean I don't like Felicia at all, but the role in itself is meaningless. Felicia's part of the teasing process while Anna has a real influence on the characters. Maybe that's why I've always like true manipulative bad guys/girls in movies... Sparadra

Anna was ultimately very one dimensional though. Not a real threat because she is so cardboard evil. Maybe if she hadn't try to kill Steele at the end, or didn't care if he lived or died she'd have been ultimately more interesting to me. (and notice how all of Steele's ex flames -- try to either kill or blackmail or use him -- even Daniel just shows up to use him)
As she is, Anna serves a good function as a catalyst in Steele and Laura's lives and relationship, but as a stand alone character she's rather poor. Felicia isn't a threat but she's just loads more interesting and fun. I can understand why Steele found her appealing company. (not so much Anna) I also think she has more dimensions even though she's not a dramatic character. She also has two of my favorite scenes with Steele, which come more from the intimacy of the actors than the writing.
1) In Thou Shalt Not Steele, as she pulls on his shirt and tries to undress him as he's getting dressed and he non chalantly slaps her hands away. It's so natural (and rather married!)
2) The glorious smile he gives her when she answers the door in Steele Searching and their "You look like hell, darling" exchange.

Is the "You look like hell, darling" exchange, preceded by Steele presenting her with a LARGE bouquet of flowers, and the phrase, "Pretty flowers for a pretty lady?"
Forget acting in that exchange. It was Pierce and Cassie talking to each other, and it just happened to work for that scene. :-D

Yes, all part of the same scene -- we see his fantastic smile when he lowers his bouquet. And agreed, it's Pierce and Cassie but works for Steele and Felicia.

I have always loved these moments because they seem to come so naturally to the two of them.

As far as episodes go, I've always preferred Woman of Steele because it dealt with RS's strong feelings for that low woman and that he believed she had died. It's rather poignant and I somehow equate his loss of Anna with his real life loss of Cassie, although to a far more minor degree.
Although I prefer Woman of Steele, I never really liked Anna. She was evil and one-dimensional, as stated. Felicia was more fun. She wasn't as important to Steele as Anna had been, therefore, I never saw her as a serious threat to Laura and RS. Even though she managed to put his life in danger in all the episodes CH appeared in, Felicia's episodes were funnier.
I agree that everyone from his past, everyone, used RS for their own advantage, which only showed us how misunderstood and misused his life had been until he met Laura and found his true calling.
Edited to say thanks for the lovely video. It's always a very nostalgic experience for me to see episodes with Cassie. So lovely that you dedicated it to her. Thanks for sharing with us.
