Post by Barbara on Mar 18, 2006, 10:57amWith this new short hair cut, he seems to have cut away all that gray hair. ;-) As for this young man playing Pierce's son...what? Sean wasn't available? ;-) Love...B ==================================================== Post by Ace on Mar 18, 2006, 12:47pmSince most of the grey is at the temples then the shorter he cuts it the less you'll see of it since it's not being brushed back over the non grey. He's also more grey on the right side than the left. Gerry Butler though, who's wearing his hair longer in the film has indeed had all his considerable grey dyed out. As for Sean, maybe he wasn't right for the role, in looks age or acting experience. This actor is 20 and can look a couple of years younger. Or maybe he doesn't want to act in his father's shadow at this stage in his career. ==================================================== Post by sparklingblue on Mar 18, 2006, 8:15pmI think he looks very dapper in the photos from Yvo's site. And he's carrying a huge box filled with books to boot! I agree with Chayna that the short hair in Death Train looked great.

Did anyone notice Brosnan doesnt look his usual handsome in his last four film
1. After The Sunset - look very old with those grey hair 2.Matador -Look like cheap car salesman 3.Seraphim Falls - look like Saddam Hussin 4.Butterfly on the Wheel - old and tired looking
I just hope he doesnt look like any of the above in Topkapi Affairs.

He's acting; he's suppossed to accomodate his look to fit the role. Otherwise it's just vanity getting in the way of the performance and the film.
I think he looked great in ATS though -- laidback and sexy and his look in The Matador was perfect for the role and grew on me since Julian Noble is such a fantastically unique creation. Likewise he looks perfect for a Post Civil war officer in Seraphim Falls and doesn't look anything like Hussein. I also like the rough and ready look for BOAW. He's suppossed to be playing a psychopath in a gritty psychological thriller not a sleek playboy..
Thomas Crown will no doubt look like Thomas Crown and not say Grey Owl. It's not as if his changing his look is new. His look for Nomads was not the look of Steele and his look for The Deceivers was not that of The Fourth Protocol or Mister Johnson like The Lawnmowerman.

Post by sparklingblue on Mar 25, 2006, 6:07pmI strongly agree with Ace on everything she said about PB changing his look for movies. It always seems to work for him too; he sells it well. And yes, he looks very sexy in ATS. ===================================================== Post by tim on Mar 26, 2006, 11:50pmMar 24, 2006, 9:34pm, willowgarden wrote: >>> Thomas Crown will no doubt look like Thomas Crown <<<Willow Should he cover those grey hair for TCA2? ========================================================== Post by Ace on Mar 27, 2006, 10:47amI don't think it much matters. Thomas Crown is a man of certain age (it's part of his allure), men of a certain age have some grey hair (heck men of a certain age usually have more grey or less hair). George Clooney doesn't dye his and he has far more and he managed to do Oceans 11 & 12 with it. Gerard Butler's hair is dyed for Butterfly (and he as much as PB) but he's playing younger.

Playback Magazine: Infinity rolls Wheel with BrosnanApril 3, 2006 by Ilona Beiks Riding the wave of an Oscar win for Capote, Vancouver-based prodco Infinity Features is back at work shooting Butterfly on a Wheel, a psychological thriller starring Pierce Brosnan, Gerard Butler and Maria Bello - hoping again to turn out a world-class production that garners both critical acclaim and a profit. Butterfly is a $20-million Canada/U.K. treaty copro between Infinity and Irish DreamTime. David Valleau (Capote) and William Vince (Capote, Saved!) produce for Infinity, Brosnan and William Morrissey for Irish DreamTime. Brit Mike Barker (Best Laid Plans) directs from Morrissey's original screenplay about a Chicago couple (Butler, Bello) whose five-year-old daughter is kidnapped by a man out to brutally and efficiently dismantle their lives. Former 007 Brosnan also headlines as the kidnapper. Ashley Rowe (Calendar Girls) is DOP. "This is exactly the type of production we want to be involved in," says Valleau, on set in Vancouver's downtown core, containing as it does all the essential pieces of "the Infinity model." When L.A.-based Creative Artists Agency shopped the script to them last summer, Brosnan, Morrissey and Barker were already attached, leaving Infinity to draw up the finances. Similarly, Infinity pulled together US$7.5 million from MGM, Manitoba Film & Sound and its own coffers to make Capote, and walked away with a cut of the US$28-million North American box office and Oscar bragging rights following Philip Seymour Hoffman's win for best male lead. "I describe us as a packaging company," says Vince. "We can take a film from development, financing and production through to post-production and distribution. We create a platform for everyone to do their best work - but at the end of the day, we're the ones who are the responsible parent, making sure that it all comes together." B.C. was also an important component of the package. "We're shooting in Vancouver - which is playing Chicago - because of the Canadian tax credits and the production values. We put in our own seed money to fly Bill Morrissey and Mike Barker up to Vancouver to show them the locations," says Valleau. Mel Gibson's Icon Entertainment International owns worldwide distribution rights, excluding Canada, but hasn't sold the U.S. rights yet. Maple Pictures will handle Canada. Icon and Infinity also recently signed a non-exclusive three-picture development and production deal. "This is the kind of film we want to get on," says Maple copresident Brad Pelman. "It has all the elements I'm looking for - it's commercially driven with international appeal." Valleau believes deals like these can help provide Hollywood studios with more small movies. "Hollywood doesn't want to [produce] films under [US]$40 million. It's not worth it to them," he says. But with something like Butterfly, "they can pick up a $20-million film, at one-third of the price, and make money." The project is not backed by Telefilm Canada or other public funders. "We're happy to work with Telefilm on the right project. It is a valuable asset for Canadian filmmakers. But it needs to be looked at," Valleau says. "We're firm believers that we need to support development, not only production." Infinity and Irish DreamTime previously crossed paths on the 2002 Brosnan picture Evelyn, which affiliate Infinity Media, with offices in L.A. and Germany, helped finance, and which led to the deal for Butterfly, according to Morrissey. "When I wrote it, I was determined not to sell it or commission it. I swore I would see it through as it was meant to be," he says. "We wanted a decent company who shared our vision. Most producers give you bullshit. By now, if we were with a studio, five or six other writers would have been brought on. I didn't want the usual development bullshit. I know that this will be done true to my screenplay." Butterfly on a Wheel wraps shooting in May, and is slated for a release in spring 2007. www.infinitymediainc.com

I haven't seen confirmation of this casting anywhere else, and there's no idea the size of the role but it's casting news and she's gorgeous so here goes: Uni Media: Vanessa Gravina Italian Actress VANESSA GRAVINA is taking Europe by storm and moving her first steps into stardom on the other side of the Atlantic. She is in fact about to begin her first American produced movie BUTTEFLY ON A WHEEL, where she will be co-starrinjg heartthrob PIERCE BROSNAN along with BRUCE DAVIS and MARINA GRACEY. The film begins rolling in Vancouver, Canada. Gravina, who is the daughter of Italian actress CARLA GRAVINA, has just finished shooting a European TV series POMPEI, IERI, OGGI, DOMANI and is famous in Italy for her work in such TV projects like GENTE DI MARE, CENTO VETRINE, and her 2003 French debut RIEN QUE DU BONHEUR. She began her career in 1994 with LA RAGAZZA DI CORTINA and continued her good work with several motion pictures and the Italian TV series INCANTESIMO and RICOMINCIARE. In 2003 Vanessa made her first French-American movie DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY ======================= Also some more Pierce spotting in Vancouver here and here (the second with a nice posed fan photo)

Set your recorders for tonight April 25th. There's streaming video on the ET site and when it cooperates I'll hopefully get it downloaded. ET:Pierce Brosnan Reveals His Dark Side April 25, 2006 After receiving a Golden Globe nomination for his comedic turn as a middle-aged assassin facing a mid-life crisis in 'The Matador,' PIERCE BROSNAN is taking on the gritty role of a kidnapper who pulls a family apart in the independent thriller 'Butterfly on a Wheel.' "[The title suggests] using extreme force to crush something that is very fragile," says Pierce. In his new film, which the star describes as a "tight thriller," the story revolves around a happily married couple whose life unravels when their daughter is abducted. Over the course of a day, the kidnapper -- a cold and calculating sociopath -- dismantles the family's lives with brutal efficiency. Look for a very different Pierce to emerge, as the actor is seeking darker roles following his successful run as super-agent 'James Bond.' "At this point in my career, everything's open," he tells ET. "When you have a TV show or a franchise, you have a safe haven, more or less. But when you don't have either of those, you look for the best possible roles with the best possible directors to work with. I'm still passionate about what I do and love what I do." And now that British actor DANIEL CRAIG has been confirmed to take over the part of James Bond, Pierce -- who faced tough critics when he stepped into the super-spy's shoes -- feels naysayers are "being brutally unfair to the man. I think he's a fantastic actor and he'll do an outstanding job as Bond. I wish the guy well," says the former 007. For more with Pierce, watch tonight's ET! Downloadable ET preview video (thanks to Yvo) added to Butterfly On A Wheel www.4shared.com/file/1395529/7ce4ccb3/et-boaw-42406.html (6mb/1 min)

Vancouver Sun: Rush of filming packs Vancouver with stars
April 22, 2006 Author: Lynne McNamara
SPOTTED
At B.C. Place last Monday night -- handsome devils Pierce Brosnan, Gerard Butler and glam Maria Bello shooting scenes from their thriller, Butterfly on a Wheel.
Long-legged Brosnan, in jeans and leather jacket and equally lanky Butler, in a suede jacket looked warm and comfy, while Bello, in four-inch stilettos and a strappy dress, shivered in the rain shooting until the very wee hours. One of the stadium's entrances was standing in for Chicago's Union Station, with extras milling about and taxis pulling up during a desperate altercation between parents (Butler and Bello) and Brosnan, who's kidnapped their child.

This looks like the piece that was supposed to be on ET a few months ago, down to the same photos on the sidebar. There's video and I haven't played it yet, but my guess is it's the same video. (yes, it's the same but I think shorter) Insider: Pierce- Way Beyond Bond! July 19, 2006PIERCE BROSNAN is going where no Bond has gone before in 'Butterfly on a Wheel,' a new thriller in which the usually charming, blue-eyed gent kidnaps a five-year-old girl and terrorizes her family. "This character brutalizes them so badly," Pierce says. "He has a bit of a temper on him and he doesn't like being told what to do and he doesn't like being pushed around in any way." The story revolves around MARIA BELLO and 'Phantom of the Opera''s GERARD BUTLER as a happily married couple whose lives unravel when their daughter is abducted. Over the course of a day, Pierce -- a cold and calculating sociopath -- dismantles the family members' lives with brutal efficiency. "It's not a piece that you kind of pick up and enjoy working on because you have to dig in and go places that you don't really want to go to," the former 007 says. The part may sound grisly but after eight years playing the white knight of Her Majesty's Secret Service, Pierce, 53, says he was happy to accept the challenge. "Having been kept on a tight leash for a number of years, happily so in some respects, this is like being a working actor again without a safety net." Just don't expect him to show his knickers like he did playing down-on-his-luck assassin Julian Noble in 'The Matador.' "That was a one of, 'Let's not repeat it. No, keep your pants on,'" he jokes. 'Butterfly on a Wheel' is expected in theaters later this year. For more with Pierce, watch tonight's "Insider."

Sorry for the lines -- reception on CBS was pffft tonight. 4Shared: Insider: Pierce on set of Butterfly On A Wheel (2 min/10mb)Much of the interview is what was shown in the online clips from ET & The Insider. This is a bit more stuff with Pierce, also some time with Maria Bello and plenty of tabloid-ish tarting up with photos and spin and annoying pop ups about upcomng stories -- that currently passes for entertainment journalism.

Teen Televison: Dustin Milligan: Runaway Canadian (7-22-06)ExcerptTeenTelevision: You play Pierce Brosnan’s son in the upcoming The Butterfly Wheel. What was that like?
Dustin: Pierce Brosnan was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. You always hear a lot of stories but when I was there, he was wickedly brilliant. Him and Gerard Butler. We call him Gerry. He was really awesome too. TeenTelevision: What do you do in that film?Dustin: That movie I actually have a very small role. It’s about kidnapping stuff. I play Pierce’s son who spontaneously and inconveniently shows up in the middle of a kidnapping ordeal. It’s a nice point in the film because it adds some humanity to Pierce’s character.

On the Mel Gibson goes off the rails front and how it impacts BOAW and Seraphim Falls. It doesn't seem to. Especially as Bruce Davey from Icon is the producer involved in both projects. From The Hollywood Reporter (8-1-06):On the film side, Icon, which finances its own projects, remains relatively insulated from the controversy. Its projects in the works range from the psychological thriller "Butterfly on a Wheel," starring Pierce Brosnan, which it is producing with Brosnan's Irish DreamTime and Infinity Features, and "A Great and Terrible Beauty," a film adaptation of the fantasy trilogy by Libba Bray, which Charles Sturridge is set to direct.
