Advertising has covered façade of the Tower of the Clergymen Tatiana Palhares even though the expression "Is responsible. It drinks with moderation "appears in garrafais letters, in the panel advertising executive who has covered the façade north of the Church and the Tower of the Clergymen, in the Port. This because the size of the band is so great that it arrives to practically cover all the façade of the biggest sineira tower of the country, with 76,5 meters of height. The advertising that goes to be displayed during six months is not of the affability of the great majority of the storekeepers, same tourist or of pároco.
"Here inside it seems that it is always a velório", laments the Valdemar priest Young chicken, complaining of the little light that the band leaves to enter and of the biggest money great expense that the parish goes to have with the light account. "I understand that it is not easy to arrange money to recoup the church, but that is an important national monument and personally I do not agree to the advertising", affirms. "I understand, but I do not approve", accents. With the authorization of the Diocese of the Port, the panel was placed in the friday.
The structure, of almost equal dimension to the one of the monument, functions as protecção to the trusss and is a counterpart for the financial support assured by the company - under the cover of the patronage law - to the workmanships of requalification of the património. But, although the tower also to be covered, the workmanships go to elapse only in the church. After three days to try "to swallow" the advertising, the majority of the storekeepers and the tourists consider the indigesta ideia. Joaquin Avila, proprietor of one I cut in the immediacy, considers "péssima" the ideia. "to make workmanships, they made parcelarmente and they did not bind the building all", contests.
Of an art store sacra, in the Street of Installation, one of the ways that tip the monument, appears the same opinion: "If height was made noutra and if it was another type of announcement, discreter, I already I agreed, but thus not, it contests the proprietor. The proprietor of a garrafeira in the same street contests the dualidade of criteria used by the Chamber of the Port. "I cannot put in the façade of my store the announcements that I want, they have of being traditional and to obey a set of rigid rules, but the autarchy can make what it wants, even though to cover the Church of the Clergymen with advertising", accuses.
Without photographs of the façade north, or the tower of the monument that started to be constructed in century XVIII, the tourists, such as the traders, also reveal bothered with the advertising. Daniil Beskeviac supports that the arruína panel "completely the monument". "It was to think about taking off photos, but when we saw the Pierce Brosnan in giant size we disconnect the machines", it relates, while it points with respect to the figure of the actor that occupies one of the vertical bands.
Arrived of Brazil, Mariana Bestrol says to understand the reason of the advertising, but it admits that "pretty it is not". "Already I was to some small farms where it stops covering the monuments in construction used a band with the photograph of the building that was for the tourists if not to disillusion with things of this type", it affirms.

Publicidade cobre fachada da Torre dos Clérigos
Tatiana Palhares

Oh dear.
Basically in exchange for helping to pay for it's reconstruction there's about a 76.5 meters or 250 ft banner of Sagres Bohemia covering the historical monument Clérigos Tower which happens to feature Pierce. It'll be there for the next six months. Some of the residents are not happy. I can't imagine why.
