Interestingly I think he looks even better in the candid set photos than the glossied up ad ones. If I'm not mistaken that's the back of Bron's blonde head in a couple of those set photos, complete with makeup pencil behind his ear.

You are right; he does look better in the candids. Only Brosnan can do that. Nevertheless I love the outfit with the silver-grey tie. Yup, the blond man on the photo looks like Bron Roylance to me as well.

Cho Sun: A Double Comeback in Autumn FashionBlack is back this fall, and so is the British look. The ill-advised Cool Britannia campaign cooled designer’s ardor for all things British, but not for long; and with a touch of glamour and luxury added, black is also making its umpteenth comeback as the fashion color of choice. ◆For Him Black has become a primary color for men’s suits too. Armani, Burberry, Paul Smith and other designers even run black-and-white ads. Dark bluish-grey and blackish-grey will pass muster, and more and more suits come in textured pinstripe to avoid monotony. “Black suits or suits with dark pinstripes have become one of the must-have items for fashion-conscious men,” says Suh Young-ju with LG Fashion. Ties or pocket kerchiefs with flamboyant patterns are excellent with such suits for a touch of diversity. When it comes to style, men’s suits are tailored to emphasize the body silhouette. This is true with not only foreign brands like Ermenegildo Zegna and Boss but also with domestic ones such as Galaxy and Maestro. LG Fashion’s Maestro introduces suits that fit tighter around the shoulders and back as well as waist to create a slimmer look. Its “masterpiece zero” pattern produces suits with a tight line at the back from shoulders to back and bottoms. Cheil Industries’ Galaxy recently signed Pierce Brosnan, whose slender figure emphasizes the tighter silhouette of its suits. The emergence of the British look is also affecting men’s suits, with more and more of them coming in with check patterns. When it comes to textiles, wool and silk remain the season’s choice. A neat Galaxy Ad on You Tube: Galaxy 2006-- "The Suit" The framing is slightly odd in the first shots where there's more grey background than Pierce or suit. I'd find the grey background even more odd except I just read an article on it's prevelance in Korean television ads. The framing improves as the ad goes on, but maybe I'm just saying that because there are more closeups. And for download I just put it up HERE (800KB/19 seconds)

That picture 2 messages back of the girl in one corner and Pierce in another: that looks remarkably like my old uniform I wore to Catholic school millennia ago. The proper hemline and everything: the nuns would make us kneel on the cold tile floor and if the skirt didn't touch the floor we'd be sent home in disgrace. (No boy in my old class ever looked as good as Pierce, however, in their uniform jacket.)
Liked the quirky Galaxy video commercial: I believe it IS Pierce's voice (for a change) in the ad at the end, saying, "The suit: Galaxy."
I have one more thing to say: hurrah for the return of men's suits. (Boy, I missed ya!) Death to Corporate Casual.

I like the photos used in this clip. My favourite bit is where he sits in the chair and everything seems like you're looking at a photograph, but then you see that he is actually moving and turning to the camera.

Yes, it's nice. At first I wondered if my eyes were playing a trick. Nice Latin music in the background made me think of TOP - the movie in which they made sure PB is never seen in a suit. BTW, YouTube also has the previous (I assume, since it's CF1) Galaxy Ad, though with less PB and more suits. Pierce Brosnan for Galaxy CF1

Ace, When I download "Galaxy: the Suit Ad", I get the behind-the-scenes of PB filming the ad, not the ad itself. Debra

Debra, I don't understand how that could happen unless there was some glitch in the 4shared database because both files are about the same length and start with galaxy. I just downloaded it to make sure it was the link for the the AD and it is and others have successfully downloaded from the link so it is there. Strange. Yuliya, thanks for the link. I looked to see if there was another yesterday and didn't see one. Yes, that pose at the end -- I thought it was a still shot as well and then he moves -- very cool. It makes me wonder if all the others are also just held poses. They do something similiar in the #1 labled ad as well. What a shame they cut his sexy walk down to 2 seconds with a splice for this spot. That most definitely is his voice at the end of the ads. And here's the 2nd ad (or the first depending on which you saw first) for download. It's 30 seconds and 1.2mb Galaxy- The Suit #2Ace

Near heresy, that. Like cutting that signature scene where Thomas Crown walks into and through a certain building that he owns. Still, the ad's lovely to look at, and has a very cool vibe. The suits really do look au courant and Brit-inspired, like Oswald Boateng and his ilk, with the tighter waisted silhouette.
That kicky tango music reminds me that there's a certain Latin flavored writing gig I need to get cracking on. <wink to Ace>

ChoSun: Suit Maker's Tips for the Sartorially Challenged[/url] 10-17-06 Galaxy suits model Pierce Brosnan holds a copy of the recently published style guidebook, “The Classic Taste.” With a dark grey suit, good for formal occasions and a light tie, the sophisticated look comes through well.If a suit is tight-fitting, do you undo the buttons? If it is loose, do you do them all up? Is an undershirt to be worn under a dress shirt at all times? Do dress socks need to be black? If you have been nodding along, go take a look at the men’s fashion guidebook “The Classic Taste.” Recently published by men’s suit maker Galaxy, the book includes sections on how to wear a suit properly, how to shop, and all the other building blocks needed to help transform a bloke into a dapper gentleman. It reveals that it is always proper etiquette to keep the suit buttoned except when seated. But with two-button suits, only the top button should be latched, and with three-button varieties the middle button. Since a dress shirt is in fact the undergarment of a suit, there is no need for the vest or, Heaven forefend, the t-shirt beloved of salarymen. Belt and shoes must match the color of the suit while socks should be of a slightly darker shade. If you are a one-suit kind of man, the book recommends a dark grey that can work for all formal occasions. If you can afford a few spares, pick one midnight blue, one grey and one brown suit, in that order. Show 1.5 cm of cuff, and wear trousers whose seam meets top of the shoe heel so that the back of the shoe is slightly covered. If the pants are too long, it can make the wearer look shorter. A tie of a similar feel as the suit gives a sophisticated impression, while a tie that is of a contrasting cloth can look confident and strong. The company started giving away copies of the book to visitors to its website (http://www.galaxy.co.kr) who provided reasons or background stories about why they need it, through a lottery starting on Monday. The Website is Pierce filled: www.galaxy.co.kr/kor/main.jsp

It reveals that it is always proper etiquette to keep the suit buttoned except when seated. But with two-button suits, only the top button should be latched, and with three-button varieties the middle button. This has always been a mystery to me. I know the suit should be unbuttoned, when seated, and the bottom button should be unbuttoned when standing. But when should the bottom button be buttonned? I suppose I sound like a colleague of mine who looked at my (very stylish!) pants with a series of hooks on the side seam all the way from the knee down and said he could never understand the women's clothing - why add those unnecessary hooks? Do you suppose the book will tell me what kind of dress socks I should chose for my husband at Marshalls? (For those who don't know American market - Marshalls is a discount store that sells quite wearable clothes at lower prices, though I suppose Tupils of Fashion may frown at the limited selection and last-season patterns and styles.)

The bottom button is destined to remain unbottoned for life by the truly fashionable. ;D As for socks, there was a recent GQ article on this. Thick socks should only be for boots. Socks should be as dark as or darker than the pants, and they should be long enough that no skin is ever showing when a man sits down or crosses his legs. As for brands you're on your own. Ace

As for brands you're on your own. Yeah, I guessed that much. Thanks for the summary, though it wasn't much help, considering I already knew I needed black dress socks, which certain specimen, whom we won't name here, wear every day with black jeans and black sneakers. Oh well... At least I can't complain his clothes don't match, and if they do, it's because I bought a shirt that doesn't go well with black...
