I just read PEOPLE has published another "book" - this one devoted to the 100 Greatest TV Stars of Our Time. Basically it's a photo book with short essays accompanying each photo. I haven't seen it yet so I have no idea how large PB's photo is or what the essay says. If it's like other People "books" it's really a thick magazine and about $10. The stars are divided into categories like The Icons Making Their Mark, Sitcom Sensations, Stand-up, Movie Stars etc... PB is in the section labled: Sexy, Sexy, Sexy. Why he isn't in Movies Stars who knows... just the usual People forced categorization. In their recent greatest 100 film stars book he was in Action Heroes and not Hearththrobs/Sexy whatevers. Ace

Found the listing, it's listed at $19.95 and *is* a hardcover book. It's $13.97 at Amazon.comISBN: 1931933871 Publisher: Time Inc Home Entertainment Subject: Television - History & Criticism Subject: Television - Guides & Reviews Publication Date: September 2003 Binding: Hardcover Language: English Pages: 144 Publisher Comments: Jackie Gleason was the original "Great One." This is a celebration of the greats of the People era. Johnny Carson was a peerless stand-up guy who also ruled from his chair. Likewise Carroll O'Connor. Jerry Seinfeld was about nothing, Walter Cronkite was about everything. We knew and loved others simply as The Coz or The Fonz, Lucy or Oprah. One gave us a rush in E.R., another a blush in Sex in the City. Ride the career rollercoaster again and again with the luminous stars who made our TV sets and memories glow. This is one re-run you simply gotta catch. www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=62-1931933871-0ebs.allbookstores.com/covers/1/7/8/big1931933871.jpgAce

Oh, please, is anyone else as sick of Jennifer Anniston as I am? cg

::raises hand::
Wouldn't a montage of the 100 "greatest" stars make more selling and just plain visual sense than a big ole headshot of the overrated Aniston (she's not even my favorite Friend... not even top 3!)

Ahem... Knowing your opinion on Schwimmer... Who else is not in the top 3? Not that I haven't also wondered what made Jennifer Anniston one of the 100 greatest stars. A good PR agent.

Hmmm let me think... Chandler... then I guess a tier down would be Monica and Phoebe and then there below that there are the others... and it's not as if it's best sitcom or cast on TV now, let alone in the history of TV so pftt to Mrs Pitt and her cover hogging self. Ace

::raises hand:: ;D I think this has to do with those dubious Hello polls. I smell a conspiracy.

I see you woouldn't allow 5 out 6 stars of Friends into your top 3 and you're not that sure about the 6th star. I never thought you were fond of Joey, so that pretty much leaves him out, too. That leaves... Er... You're the Tapian!

If I watched that show more than occasionally, I'd be able to come up with her favorite friend's name - darn it, it's on the tip of my tongue.
Of course it's Ross' monkey! ;D

That leaves... Er... You're the Tapian! ;D I didn't mean it that way. I meant I like Chandler the best then worked my way down and after the next two (Monica and Phoebe) really can't be bothered with the last three one of whom is dumb as a rock and the other two whine and mope too much, guess which are which. Ross's monkey Marcel! Now him I liked. Ace

If we're going beyond the "main" six - and who wouldn't, if given a choice? - I'll take Tom Selleck any day. Woo-hoo!! cg

We're not going beyond anything, we're simply teasing Ace. I liked Tom Selleck, too, though.

I couldn't. I LOVE Chandler's family... father and mother... Kathleen Turner and Morgan Fairchild. I always wondered why they couldn't make their marriage work. ;D

Morgan Fairchild was a control freak and Kathlene Turner had commitment issues?

So did Marcel make People's list? cg Interesting question. I'd gather if he was he'd be grouped with Lassie, Mr. Ed, Eddie the dog and Arnold the Pig. Ace

Morgan Fairchild was a control freak and Kathlene Turner had commitment issues? Sigh.... I guess it's the same old story. A shame, they seemed so much in love. Ace

I don't remember it very well. I think at Chandler's parents attended Chandler and Monica's wedding. Chandler's mom was played by Morgan Fairchild and Chandler's dad - by Kathlene Turner; he came in a woman's drss because Chandler's dad was gay and a cross-dresser.
