Nah, my stomach would never make it on a boat trip from Germany to NYC unless it was the QEII, I'd just have to deal with the grabby stewardess if she tried anything untoward. ::insert evil cackle:: Or maybe not, it's quite a jump from petty poster thief to suspected hijacker! ;D

I'm sure she'd just fold it up in her briefcase and walk out with it quite nonchalantly. I hear that's how it's done. ;D

Alas I unlike a certain Mr Crown do not want creases. I must roll and not fold and by briefcase isn't big enough for that roll... what to do what to do... I know I'll pose as an architect and roll it up among plans for my latest Frank Lloyd Wright-ish creation. Ace

Excellent disguise! Do you suppose they may think the poster is a some sort of architectural blueprint? Or a banner, perhaps? All this talk kind of reminds me of carrying my "flat bed" Bond poster from Russia to the States. I think it fit in a suitcase, though.

Cool, isn't it? I would get a friend who is training as a commercial designer to pose as the creator of that ad. That should get me a copy. ;D

Grrr... and the video won't work for me, I only get audio, thee looks to be soehing wrong with the video codec according to the diagnostic. If anyone is getting the complete video to work, let me know so I'll know the fault lies not with the video but with my codecs. *sigh*

I updated my site and since I was busy and didn't do much this month, I finally remembered to do what I'd been meaning to do for about two months - upload PB ads I have, including a couple of latest Omega ads, in chronological order. More or less.

The spot played fine on my Windows media player. On Real the sound worked, but the picture came out very choppy. I don't know which player you use, though. For codecs I have Indeo on my computer. You could try installing it if you don't have it yet. There used to be a free download of it online, but I can't find it anymore.

Thanks! I found a separate download for Indeo 3.2 codec. I evidently lost it /skipped when I had to reload programs on my computer.
A really great FUN commerical. He looks to be having an absolute blast. I wonder who the actress is with him. I wonder if it's a coincidence that she resembles Salma Hayek?

Sure, I'm glad you got to watch it now. I have no clue whether the resemblence to Salma was intended, but I think the woman looks very Bond girl-ish. And she looks good together with Pierce, better than the one in the other spots imho. I agree, Pierce really looks like he's having a great time. I especially like the scene at the end. He's very Bond, but at the same time kind of making fun of it. ;D

My favorite parts are when he's laughing while driving the car and spinning it out while she's shooting off her gun.
As for the end I love his looks at her but that voice *oy* that voice, I can never ever reconcile the unbelievably deep gravelly German voice to him, it just makes me laugh. ;D

I totally agree with Ace. ;D The laugh is great, it makes me think of the one that was cut from DAD. And the voice... Oy!
German-speaking posters, can you translate, please?

Spakling kindly gave us a loose translation way back on page one of this topic. And yes that laugh of pure pleasure and outrageous fun is just like the one they should never have cut from DAD! Ace

Absolutely. Thank you for reminding about the translation; the first half was kind of obvious from the context, tough, but the second is a lot more intersting. A full circle and almost back to where Goldeneye started, with the size of Mr. Bond's ego.

Much better looking girl though, and far more dangerous from the way she weilds that gun. I really can't imagine though listening to that voice for 2 plus hours of a PB film. It's SCARY! Ace

Here's a question for the German posters: Do they always use the same guy to dub PB's voice in the movies? I think it would be weird to go see his movies and his voice be different every time. Also, can't they find any German impersonators who can do his voice? Migs

German people doing a British/Irish accent?? Hmmm...
Although I happen to know a German who has a very nice British accent. Not sure how their Irish is. ;D

Yep they don't need an impersonator, and it's not very feasible, but it would be helpful if they had someone do the voice in the same vocal neighborhood. Egads this dubber is deep.

I wasn't thinking about the whole accent thing with the impersonator . . . just the general sound of his voice, I guess the vocal range thing Ace mentioned . . . maybe what he would sound like if he was raised in Germany and spoke German. Does that make sense?
