My sister met Pierce when she was working for Amer Airlines at Miami Inter. Airport. It was during the time he was playing Bond. She called me that night, said he was wearing jeans and looked great. He went around to all the employees who came to see him and shaked their hands. He took my sister's hand in both of his and gave her a big smile. She told me that he was the nicest of all the VIP's she met during her 10 yrs. with AA.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Pierce on October 5, 2007, at the Irish Arts Center's Annual Gala in NYC. I'd been a fan of his since October 1, 1982, and when I read on his website that he would be given a Spirit of Ireland award, I thought I just had to be there if at all possible.
I called to see if seats were still available; there were and I bought two. I then had to arrange for a ride to NYC since I couldn't drive; I live approximately 100 miles south of Manhattan in a NJ shore town. My niece who is also a PB fan met me in NY and drove us to the NY Athletic Club where the event was being held.
We rode the elevator to the ninth floor with Gabriel Byrne who was one of the honorary chairpersons along with Liam Neeson. There was a cocktail reception at 6:30 to be followed by dinner at 8. I was hoping that there would be a reception line at the cocktail hour and that I could get to shake Pierce's hand and say thank you for 25 years of entertainment pleasure.
However, there was no receiving line and none of the celebrity guests was anywhere to be seen, but the hors d'oeuvre were excellent, the drinks were large and strong and the time passed pleasantly. At 7:55 we went into the dining room which was long rather than wide with a huge stone fireplace at one end. There were more than 30 tables of nine to ten places at each one. The podium on a dais was on one side at the center so that all could have a clear view of the proceedings.
After introductions a table mate asked me what an Italian was doing at this get-together; I replied that I came to see PB. He couldn't believe that I would make that kind of effort to be there.
Between courses the awards were given out: first to Christine Quinn, then Joseph Smith, Michael Flatley and finally Pierce. I could not believe that I was in the same room with HIM. When I heard his voice as he began his acceptance speech, my heart began to race. I was feeling and acting like a giddy teenager! I've never been one to seek out autographs or write fan letters or in any way pursue celebrities, but for this man, I would make a bit of a fool of myself!
After dinner people began surrounding PB to speak to him. I thought I would wait until the crowd diminished to approach him. However, when I next looked toward the center of the room, he was nowhere to be found! I was so disappointed; I thought he had left!
About this time the room had emptied out considerably. There was a silent auction in progress and there was dancing in the room where the cocktail hour had been held earlier. My niece and other guests at my table had gone to participate.
The next time I looked up, PB was back in the room talking to a couple. I made my way across the room and decided to sit at a nearby table just so that I could watch him. I wanted to notice everything about him and have it all indelibly etched in my mind.
Suddenly I heard my name being called! " NO WAY!," I thought! "I didn't just hear HIM call my name!" But he said it again! (The man at my table who couldn't believe I was there just to see Pierce had met him on the terrace and told him about this avid fan; Pierce asked my name.)
Before I could close my mouth and regain my composure, PB began walking toward me. I began to panic! "What am I going to say to him?" I thought. I held out my hand to shake his; he took my hand and then kissed me on both cheeks as Europeans do. Even now, as I write this, my heart begins to beat a little faster. Pierce has an exceedingly strong handshake! He also was not wearing cologne. I remember being surprised that there was not even a hint of alcohol or tobacco. As I started to babble like an idiot, he pulled up a chair and sat knee-to-knee with me.
We then spent the next ten minutes having a lovely talk. I asked him questions; he asked me questions. He had just flown back from Greece; Keely and the boys had gone home to Malibu. He was going back to the hotel to pack because he was flying to California the next morning. And during this conversation all I could do was stare at his face. I swear to you that photos, the movie screen and the TV screen do not do him justice. I think I was expecting a more weathered appearance. He has the most beautiful face for a man his age (or any age), and his eyes just hold your attention. He has a charisma and a magnetism that is so much stronger in person. He was so soft-spoken and so sweet and gentlemanly.
I did not think to congratulate him or ask for an autograph; I did not notice anything except how beautiful he was. As we were saying goodbye, another table mate came by and asked him if she could take a picture of the two of us. He positioned his chair alongside mine and reached over to enfold my hands within his. After the picture was taken, he placed a hand on my shoulder before walking away.
Two weeks later, on my birthday to be exact, the picture arrived. It sits on my entertainment unit in the living room. Whenever I need a lift in spirits, I need only to look at that photo.

We offer this paint to the famous actor Pierce Brosnan ,we admire him because he is a great actor and a great human .We learnt that he was in Athens for the promotion of the new film Mamma mia , so we didn’t lose the chance to meet him in the “Grand Resort” hotel in Lagonissi , where he was staying , we went there and finally we met him on Saturday 28th of June at 13:30 o clock. We are very happy .When we were walking on the hotel’s beach we watch Brosnan sitting into a Restaurant next to the beach and without second thought we went in.We gave him this paint which we have made and when he saw it , he saw us his enthusiasm as he used to paint too . We had a nice conversation with him . He was so kind , friendly and modest . When we ask him if it’s possible to take a photograph with him and to sign us two autographs , he answer us ‘Of course’ .It’s worth to say that he was walking alone in the hotel and on the beach untroubled without any bodyguards or security staff. He also took some photographs with the hotel staff. Since he had wait in the queue to pay for his meal , he decide to be freshen in the hotel’s sea before going to his room for his evening relaxation . We were in the same place with Pierce Brosnan for about an hour , it was a great experience which we will never forget

Out of curiosity, for those of you who have met Pierce at special screenings of his films in New York, how did you manage to get tickets for those events? Is it best to check on the movie’s official site or are there special offers for purchasing tickets? I haven’t read this board in quite a while so I’m not sure if news has been announced about tickets to attend these events for his upcoming films (I recall one announced a long time ago for I believe “The Matador” which I missed).

It depends. I didn't even know the Cinema Society was screening Ghost Writer until after I saw the photos of the event. Usually the studio or theater shoots out a press release that Google will pick up in "News" but I saw nothing about this. Theaters usually have websites where they inform you how to go about getting tickets - if the screening are open to the public and not just to the press or by invitation. I've only been to one special screening of a Pierce film in NYC - Married Life. And I only spotted it when looking at local theater listings for films and I was able to easily buy tickets (not even in advance - I bought them at the theater). Pierce wasn't there but Patricia Clarkson and the director Ira Sachs were. Remember Me is having a NYC screening early March, I think March 1st but I don't have the details and with Robert Pattinson's stalkerish fans that might not be info Summit wants to release too early.

I met Pierce on several occasions since 1995 when I was president of the french James Bond fan Club in France. Since this time we became friends and we see each other almost each time he is in France, like two weeks ago when he was promoting The Ghost Writer.
Pierce is a very nice man.
Best Laurent

I can't top greyowelette's story, but guess who I got to meet in NYC this morning .... Honestly, the pictures do not do him justice! He is sooooo much more handsome in person, it's crazy!! I caught him outside Avery Fisher Hall, shortly after he finished his Live With Kelly & Michael interview. It was me and one autograph hound near the entrance. I asked him if I could take a picture with him and he said, "Sure!" I thanked him and that was the extent of our conversation. He was on his way to somewhere else, but was quite gracious when I asked him. Dang he's tall (I'm only 5'1")!! I'm just thankful that I was coherent and didn't drool all over the man - LOL!!

Now, I know I should have cancelled class!
But seriously, I probably couldn't get up the guts to get near him. I couldn't do it when I saw David Duchovny in a play, and I couldn't do it for Pierce. Too chicken is me.

Got the opportunity to meet the man once again when he was in NYC earlier in the week. This time I got up the courage to actually speak to him after I asked him to take a pic with me! He was great!! I introduced myself to him, shook his hand, and I ended up telling him I was a fan since his days on RS. He gave me a killer smile! Then he made sure that he & I were both in the shot for the selfie ... I joked that my arm wasn't long enough because he was so tall, so he crouched and leaned in before I snapped the pic. He told me it was a pleasure meeting me and used my name in the sentence. OMG, the sound of him uttering my name (which is not a very common name) was music to my ears in that voice of his! So charming and gracious and handsome!! Again, I have to say that he is much more handsome in person! The photo doesn't do him justice. Here's the pic (it's a bit blurry, but who cares )...

An artist I follow just had the chance to meet Pierce in person. Here is her account of that meeting from her facebook page ... Mariam Paré Art and Design Last week I flew to LA ...I had the privilege to be invited to the home of Mr. Pierce Brosnan and deliver the Bond portrait I painted for him. It still feels like a dream. Wearing the same clothes I wore on the airplane (remember I lost my luggage landing at LAX) we drove out to Malibu to a house on the beach. Once inside the beautiful gate, we parked behind his Aston Marten. He came out to greet me as I got out of the van, walking up in his bare feet and cargo shorts, kissing both my cheeks, ...it was so gracious of him. He took me into his house, leaving everyone else behind at first. Pierce was so authentic and warm. I cannot tell you guys enough what a nice guy he is. And how amazing it was to be shown around his home, and to talk with him, and to hear what he thought when he saw the painting. Just to be invited to his HOME, that in and of itself says so much about what a cool guy he is. He kindly held my hand when we talked about meaningful things. I am not sure if many of you know, but Mr. Brosnan is also an artist; a painter, like myself. And we talked about art and inspiration, and color and creation. We had a moment where he talked about how his grief from losing his wife and daughter motivated him to paint again. He showed me a portrait of his daughter. He showed me many other paintings he was in the process of working on as well as some finished. Before looking at his paintings, I spotted what I knew to be a Gauguin ("Arearea") above his fireplace and couldn't help myself to ask if it was the "real" Arearea. He told me it was a real forgery, one done for the movie "A Thomas Crown Affair" and he had kept it after filming. It was beautiful. His home was beautiful. With his old dog and his new puppy Sage running all around us. Foliage covering his front walkway looking like a Hawaiian garden. Pierce and I realized we had a mutual friend in common!! How cool is that? Pierce knows another artist I know too, who lives in Hawaii near Pierce's house on the island. (Yes Moses Hamilton Pierce Brosnan and I were talking about you!! :-)) - Overall it was an amazing experience. And I am so happy to have made that connection with him. I am extremely fortunate to have a piece of my art owned by such an awesome and kind human being.
