Thanks!
Looking at the specs they list the Fifth season on disc five and they're charging more for the set so it looks pretty official that Season 5 is included.
But that commentary-- Steele Bonds I can accept because it was a pivotal episode even if kind of sketchy but Steele In The Air--- grrrr. So many great episodes in Season 4 and we get Steele In The Air?
Sigh -- well at least Beg, Borrow & Steele a truly great episode gets a commentary.

This is great news! I just received my season 3 from Amazon and now I can't wait for the next set. Unfortunately, Pierce is not doing any commentary which I was really looking forward to.

My computer was deader than a doornail for over a week (the dreaded blue screen and hard drive death sentence) and I just got it to operate somewhat decently and the first thing I saw in my e-mail was the news from tvshowsondvd!!! Hooray! The way I read it is that it is definite that both seasons will be released together in one package. I'm so excited. At least we won't have to wait for the final episodes like we did when the show actually ended after Bonds and then aired the final 6 hours so many, many months later - seemed like an eternity. Although at this point, August seems a long way away. However, after we get the final two seasons, there won't be anymore to look forward to. How sad. I'm glad they're doing commentary for Bonds and Beg, Borrow, although In The Air isn't terrible, I would prefer commentary on Premium or Searching. The price is appropriate for what we are getting, I suppose, because we know we won't be paying full price at most places.

This may appear to be off topic as regards RS Seasons 4 & 5, but you'd be surprised how all roads lead. To cut to the chase, I was watching the usual hijinks on David Letterman and had a laff (though a slightly nervous one) over this Top Ten List.
Top Ten Signs the Government is Spying On You
10. Post office wall has several photos of you sleeping
9. Your houseplant occasionally sneezes
8. Domino's keeps delivering to unmarked van parked across the street
7. Birthday card from your mom has several words blacked out
6. You get nominated for "Outstanding Lead Performance in an NSA Surveillance Video"
5. Your dishwasher functions are "Wash," "Rinse" and "Record"
4. Local news only reporting things that happen in your living room
3. Every time you say goodbye on the phone, you hear a strange voice say, "Roger that, Chico"
2. You googled a recipe for hummus and the FBI raided your house
1. [You] suddenly discover there's an antenna bolted to your ass *******
Not to be picky, but I think Season Four of RS might have gotten there first.
Top Ten Signs, Steele Spawning Edition:
10. You come home to find that Brooks Brothers is having a trunk show in your living room.
9. Your polo mallet can dial Sri Lanka.
8. The LA Tribune begins its next style feature on you with "high level government sources say..."
7. You spout phrases like "Royal beluga. North of the Caspian" while eating crackers in bed.
6. The office supply closet is now referred to as "the safe house."
5. When you said that the C.I.A. was "not a residence" you never thought it would turn out to be yours.
4. Your invitation to the Moscow Policemen's Ball comes with a pair of handcuffs.
3. Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. shows up flashing a badge as Lew Erskine, F.B.I.
2. The commercials between act breaks are for Ford Motor Co. <see #3 above>
1. You place a call to your bookie and he greets you with a hearty "tovarich!"
*****
Speaking of bookies, the Preakness is about to start, so I'm off!

on the Top Ten Lists but... that's it no more Triple Crown horse racing for me -- everytime I watch some poor horse gets injured. Damn. Why didn't I keep my big mouth shut! I just saw, and it looks bad for Barbaro, maybe career ending. What a heartbreak to see such promise cut short -- in the eyes of a lot of "hard boot" cynic horsemen (as well as the fans) he was a talent with the best shot at Triple Crown glory since Affirmed took the three races in '78. In any case, no matter what the horse's potential, it's always a sick sinking feeling to see that ambulance show up.

Yes, there was alot of talk about him being the one, and from the previous race he certainly looked it, which is why I watched. Once he false started and broke that door it looked like trouble. Such a shame.

Yes, there was alot of talk about him being the one, and from the previous race he certainly looked it, which is why I watched. Once he false started and broke that door it looked like trouble. Such a shame. Ace I suppose this really belongs in the Off Topic thread now, but I went on the Racing Form website (www.drf.com) for an update on Barbaro's condition. His racing career appears to be over and his injury could be life threatening. Dr. Larry Bramlage, the on-call veterinarian for the American Association of Equine Practitioners, said on NBC's telecast that Barbaro appeared to have suffered "a significant injury."
"He has fractures above and below the ankle," Bramlage said.
Barbaro had a splint placed on the injured leg on the racetrack, then was taken from the track in a horse ambulance to the stakes barn, where he had been housed since arriving on Friday from the Fair Hill training center.
Bramlage said Barbaro would be taken to the New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania, where he "would require major surgery."
"It could be life-threatening," Bramlage said later, in a press conference, because there could be "significant injury to the blood supply.
"There's two relatively small arteries in that part of the leg," Bramlage said.
"You can't put him in bed. An injury to you or I, we would be in bed for six weeks," Bramlage told Bob Neumeier on NBC's telecast. "It's much more difficult with a horse."
"Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer," Bramlage said.
"His career is over," Bramlage said in a press conference 40 minutes after the race. "He broke a bone above the ankle first, and there's so much energy and adrenaline that he keeps on running.
"This will require major stabilizing surgery. It's a major hurdle here," Bramlage said.
Bramlage said the fracture must first be stabilized before surgery can be performed. He said it was unreasonable to assume that Barbaro suffered the injury when he broke through the gate before the race.
"He would not have been able to go back and around the gate" if he had the injury beforehand, Bramlage said...*** From watching the race it looked like he just took a bad step in the early going behind the leaders and after he faltered you could see jockey Edgar Prado trying to take hold of him and pull him up.

Ready for my comment? Grrrrrrr..........Why, why, why must Stephanie always be in the background? Just once I'd like to have her front and center and our mystery man peering over her shoulder. They should have chosen YELLOW for the box instead of blue. Quite frankly, I would have preferred WHITE. Anything that stands out on the shelf, as long as it's classy. Blue -- been there, done that. Surely, somewhere, they could have found a better picture of Stephanie. While the chosen one isn't terrible, it's not as good as it could have been, or should have been. I don't totally dislike the cover, but I would prefer something nicer, more elegant. hmp!

Cause he's prettier? I think it's bizarre that they have yet another photo of him in that tux evidently taken the same time the others were taken. Did he do no other photo shoots for the series? And surprise, that looks like a Season One photo of Steph when Fox said they couldn't find a good Season One photo the first time around. Why the early season photos for the Season 4 & 5 Box set? Then again we're lucky they didn't use their wedding photo. Interesting that Doris Roberts has been dropped off this season? It makes one wonder if there was a separate Season 5 Box would they have dropped Steph again and would it have just been Brosnan but this time with tag lin "The Season that Screwed Him Out Of Bond." Aside from all that I think it's pretty. I like the blue. I don't think they ever should have gone away from the blue theme, and should have had the entire series in shades of blue.

I like the blue even if I agree that the white would be perfect reminding at all the classy movies mentioned in the serie.
All in all I also like the pics of them, but I wonder why Laura is in everydays clothes and Remington in tux. I'd preferred both of them in everydays clothes and perhaps having them kissing would be perfect for the closing dvd's serie.

I am pleasantly surprised by the cover. I like the blue, and the photo of PB is not flipped for once. I also like the picture of SZ better than the one on the S2 box.

Do you think the stars have any input on the cover pics or is it all up to the company? I notice at TVon DVD.com quite often the cover arts are changed and was wondering if it's because the stars are unhappy with it?
I'm quite big on cover pics and some are just dull; Seinfeld for example have NO BEARING on the actual season and I find that sad:(

Unless they produce or own the show then no, the stars don't have any input. I don't even think that Gleason who produced the show had any input on the Steele covers (they didn't even ask him about the original music and when they replaced it). It's all down to the marketing dept and what they think sells best -- or if they're too lazy or cheap to think of something more inventive or even look for better photos.
The actors, writers etc didn't even get paid (not even with free DVDs) to do those features/ commentaries --- they did it for the fans and Gleason.

Somehow I missed the release date on this, and now it has even gone up $2 on Amazon! Anybody know if that's the best price available? Meijer and WalMart didn't have it; it's $40 at Target, and I'm not sure where else to look. DD is over $40. Stupid Sam's Club didn't have 1 or 2, but then they had 3 at a good price, but now they don't have 4/5. cg
